Well, if he doesn't get to be Bond, McMahon would be great for a Kevin Spacey biopic.

Wouldn't it be great to wake up tomorrow and find out that the new James Bond is in fact HUGH JACKMAN?

Let's face it, he is the best choice for the role. Forget Owen, McMahon, Scott and others. Hugh Jackman has the starpower. And would serve fine as 007 for the next decade.

That's right, I agreed with you HelllsHere, those actors like Owen, McMahon, Scott, and others are talking too soft with their British accent and too dark horses to play. Hey what the tabloids said are not true that if one of the actors who we don't want was Bond is a fake. Don't believe what the tabloids or reporters say, because they will all say that it was all rumors. Jackman should be and will be James Bond, he was a great choice to me too. All the supporters of Owen, Scott, McMahon, and others should wake up and find out how bad is their characteristics if they play Bond. Jackman is our no.1 choice to play Bond and the producers will pick Jackman as the new James Bond. Hey Hugh Jackman and the previous Bond actor Pierce Brosnan have in common with co-stars. They each co-star with Patrick Stewart who played with Brosnan on the not so big action film before Brosnan was Bond, then Stewart co-stars with Jackman in both X-Men movies. Then there's Alan :) who co-stars with Pierce Brosnan as the computer whiz villian Boris in Golden Eye, and he played Nightcrawler (:)) with Jackman in X-Men 2. Famke Janssen who co-stars with Brosnan also in Golden Eye and he also stars with Jackman in both X-Men movies. Finally Halle Berry who stars with Brosnan in the previous Bond movie "Die Another Day" and he stars with Jackman in Swordfish, and two X-Men movies. Jackman will be a mix of Connery and Brosnan all in one to play Bond. We better pray to God that Hugh Jackman is James Bond.

Hugh Jackman as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007
in "Casino Royale"

I'm back with a brand new James Bond #6 Contenders Collage. This time they are all closeups, face to face, man to man. Who do you think looks the most like James Bond?

That pic of Jackman is one of the least flattering I've seen of him. Ditto for the Gruffudd pic, which shows him in the least masculine light possible. The Purefoy pic is too pixelated. McGregor looks like Kevin Bacon in "JFK".

I've gotten to the point where I don't really care who Bond is anymore. I know that they've dragged this whole "Is Pierce coming back?" "He is coming back!" "Just kidding, he's not coming back" and "Who will replace him?" thing for way too long. A year and a half is ridiculous to toy with the very loyal audience of the James Bond films. Just come out and say who you are looking at, or tell us that you haven't found the person that you're looking for yet, and people will be happy for the time being. The tactics that EON is using this time is just flat out wrong. I've just grown so tired of going to sites everyday, and a new actor is "up for the role". Half of these guys are self promoting and should be ashamed of themselves. Becoming James Bond is not a worldwide election. It should be thought more of an appointment by those who have control over the franchise. Actors shouldn't mettle with the affairs of the 007 franchise. If they want the role, voice the opinion once, and then be done with it. The Brocolis and Michael Wilson know the character of Bond better than anyone besides the late Ian Fleming, so they will decide for themselves who the role should go to. Hugh Jackman, Clive Owen, Ewan McGreggor, Julian McMahon, and Christian Bale will not decide who Bond is, and neither will anyone here. Whatever happens, CASINO ROYALE will be a James Bond movie.

Thanks! Excellent work once again. Seeing all of them together, especially with the improved pictures, makes it a tough choice. Owen looks cool, but more "Die Hard" than Bond. Didn't think I'd do it, but I'm grouping McMahon with the pretty boys and changing my pick to Butler. By the way, does anyone actually think the Jim Carrey look alike in the bottom right hand corner actually has a chance?

It really is too bad that the only photo of Butler clean-shaven also has him with that pissed off expression and Hugh Grant hair.

Does anyone else think that when he smiles Christian Bale is the spitting image of Stan Laurel? I noticed this when I saw American Psycho and I thought it was very disturbing to see "Stan" wielding a chain saw and was wondering where Ollie was. In some pictures Bale looks great, but whenever I see him I always think of Laurel and Hardy. :)

I may have to agree with you there as the other contenders look pretty weak. I've been somewhat pessimistic about West and Mcmahon, but they do look good.

OK lets make it more ineteresting. How about old vs new? I created yet another collage with the five actors who played Bond on the left and the contenders on the right. Now we have an even better comparison to judge who really has the Bondian look.

Excellent work Forever007! What a great way to view them all.

Out of the contenders I think you can pick the whole left hand column,Owen,Butler( much better pic btw),Bale, Purefoy and McMahon and Gruffudd.Out of those,Bale is tied up with Batman,so he's out.Gruffudd is too young and Purefoy isn't remotely known so I would discount him to.I quite like McMahon but can understand that people find him a Little greasy,so I would go with Owen or Butler.Butler being my preferred choice as he just has so much more Bond mojo than Owen and is much better looking. He is also younger,so we can get more movies out of him.

I seem to be changing my mind about this daily, but lloking at those photos compared witht the five established oo7s, I'd say Purefoy is looking okay in a kind of Ian Ogilvy way.

I quite agree with you Lady Rose. Butler would be the right choice for many reasons so lets hope that it happens. Hopefully the latest Owen signing for Bond rumors are false, although he would do a good job as well. I prefer a younger less known actor that can make Bond his own and have a nice run of 5- 6 films. Butler would be ideal.

After watching Clive Owen's interview yesterday on Sin City it appears that he is the next James Bond. He was asked three times if he was the new Bond and he smiled and said he was going to be very busy. happily very busy the first time asked. Every other interview to date he has given a cold no response. The way he smiled cheerfully and thanked the reporters convinced me he has the part. I guess a press conference will follow soon. If this si true then lets wish him the best as he's a fine actor that will no doubt bring a more realistic Bond to the screen.

Thanks again for all the work; it`s great to see them all lined up like that for comparison and it suddenly leads to some interesting conclusions. Congrats on finally finding a half way decent photo of Owen; if the they shot the whole movie from the angle I would be fine with him as Bond. Interesting what you're saying about the Owen interview: where did you see that?
