SPECTRE Trailer (spoiler discussion)

The voice? It sounds like Christoph Waltz all the way through but I may be wrong.
Finally, anyone caught up with comments on social media about Oberhauser's big line - "I am the author of all your pain"? Such as;
"All your pain? Is that the sequel to 50 Shades Of Grey?"
Or;
"It was me James. I am the author of all your pain" - does this mean Christoph Waltz is playing Ian Fleming?

I'm picturing the powers-to-be at Eon laughing his or her socks off at us debating the different voices. Either way, if it is two different characters or one - they still must be amused.

My issue is, its the changing pitch that makes it sound like Scott, but its with a german accent and I don't see Mendes saying for Scott to just be Moriarty, but german.Definitely Andrew Scott's voice, I've decided.
I've seen him in Sherlock loads of times and those who have, will agree with me. He frequently changes the pitch and tone of his voice when shrieking away as Moriaty.
I'm sorry, but where do you spot this German accent in the middle paet of the quote? As a continental European, I know my German quite well but this doesn't sound particurlarly German to me. And again, if you have watched Sherlock, you know AS when you hear him.
Besides, CW dubbing the whole line in the German trailer is not the point, nor proof that in the English trailer it is CW as well.
To my opinion, it's definitely AS we're hearing in the middle part, with two possible explanations:
1. Mundane: they needed to fill a 'gap' in CW's quote for spoiler or timing reasons and decided this AS quote was fitting (you don't SEE CW during the AS part, which makes it slightly less messy). Also, this explains why CW is dubbing the whole quote in the German trailer.
2. Less mundane, and I admit less probable, but nevertheless very exciting if true: it's a clue. Mendes said earlier this is supposed to be a mysterious film and fans have to pay attention. Especially the quote itsef points to this: while we have been focusing on CW as the main villain, it has been AS who we came across so many times, yet we never really saw him.
I find this scenario not necessarily very probable, but nevertheless not impossible. Indeed, CW is a big, expensive name to add to the bill for multiple films. And I think, if this scenarion proves to be true, he will still be the main villain of SP. And perhaps even a second film. But, as Mendes has pointed out as well, the solution they found for Blofeld is a very out of the box-one. Why not have AS ready as a mysterious figure, operating from the shadows, only revealed as mastermind in the end, or possibly even in the next instalment? Everybody is focusing on Blofeld Pleasance/Savalas style, however bear in mind that in the favourite films of Mendes portray Blofeld literally anonymously, covered, with a mysterious voice and appearance. Wouldn't suit this the Mendes-style far better?
Anyway, to cut a long discussion short: anyone prepared to bet a nice bottle of Dom Perignon on who delivers this critical line in the film?
Love Sherlock, Scott does have a unique sounding voice thanks to his Irish lilt.
The "yet you never saw me" has a slight Germanic tone to it, not Scott's (and indeed my own) Irish.
However since posting I've come up with a theory (read: wild speculation) - what if Scott is actually the Waltz son, the little boy who is in the photo with Bond and Oberhouser (notably faceless) that bond is looking at in the teaser? One gets dispatched by Bond but the other kills Madeline Swann and gets away. That way the line could be Scott, but explain why he's not using an English (or his own Irish) accent

Jesus, Geeks. All your silly theories when the script, and scripted sequences, have been out there for months and we know everything. Stop with the voice over debate you are giving us a headache.

Speak for yourself only. There are people who don't want to know about the leaked stuff. If you know everything, good for you. Save your money, don't go see the film. And if you don't like geeks, don't go to fan boards on the internet.

As a Brit with Irish family I can tell you that that's not an English, Welsh, Scots or Irish accent, from any county.
It's still sounds like Waltz to me, who has a distinctive vocal pattern. Yes he was born and raised in Vienna, but in the 70s he studied the Method with Lee Strasburg (Hyman Roth for Godfather fans) in New York. Many of his inflections are of a New York-Viennese hybrid, and that's what I hear in the trailer.
FWIW, I think the first clip of dialogue ('Welcome... James. It's been a long time.') is from Oberhauser's reveal to Bond in the Great Hall of the Palazzo, while the other extract ('You came across me so many times') is from much later. Maybe in the Moroccan crater lair.

Sorry if this has already been said, but that helicopter barrel roll looks like a straight up tribute to TMWTGG.
Add that to the Thunderball and OHMSS theme homage going on in the score and it;s looking like another anniversary movie.
So long as that wonderful OHMSS theme is part of the movie i'm a happy man.

There's no obligation upon you to engage in the debate. Or any of this.

As for that pesky Waltz/Scott debate...it's still frying my brain but I am sure it's Scott! The pitch is too high to be Waltz.
So I believe anyway.

Didn't really like it, tbh.
Afraid to say I'm with you on this one. Cinematography does look terrific though. Didn't think Deakins could be matched but that does seem to be the case. Love the use of OHMSS-theme in but it only adds to this odd feeling that I can't quite put my finger on - just all feels slightly been-there, done-that. To quote someone else, I feel an itch.....
Hoping to be proved wrong but I'm just a little nervous about all of this since the leaks.....

A lot of people on this thread happily discussing how they've read stolen, copyrighted material - They do know that's a criminal offence punishable with a prison sentence in the UK don't they? One the tory's want upped to a ten year prison stay, but that's another discussion.

I can admit now without being shot, or have my eye pulled out, that at first I wasn't impressed with the trailer. I felt there was something missing. I don't know what, but my "expectations" are never met at first, so I have time to erase them from my head before starting to let the trailer fill me with new expectation.
Happily after numerous views over the day and again today, it's just blooming marvellous. I understand the tone they are going for, the story they are working on, and I appreciate all the stunt and cinematography and nods to the classic era.
Everything about it just works, and it really cranks up the excitement for the finale of the trailer - BOOM. Got you. 'SPECTRE'. Brilliant.

I believe this is mentioned elsewhere, but I keep coming back to the recent Mendes interview where he states we'll hear the recorded main theme from the film really soon. I can't believe he would think October (usually when the main theme surfaces) would be considered...soon. I wonder if at the very least we hear some of that theme, perhaps the opening bars of the song in the trailer itself? I.e. the parts we found reminiscent to OHMSS?

Very well spotted.
Bond definitely appears to be asking for Q's help without Tanner's knowledge.

Now that we're assuming that Madeleine Swann is Mr. White's daughter, is Swann her married name (not that there's any indication she's married) or is that Mr White's real surname, in which case "White" has been a codename all this time?

The new trailer synopsis confirms that Madeleine definitely is Mr White's daughter.
I assume White is a codename, and his real surname is Swann - unless, of course, Madeleine took her mother's name instead.

Maybe in SpectreQuantum they use first names, making him White Swann. Then his next line from the great beyond would be 'we have flocks everywhere.'

Spotted the bike, but I didn't notice Tanner. Could be him indeed. What sharp little eyes you've got
Now I'm only waiting for the return of Smithers ;-)

What we really need is to look in the far corner and see OHMSS's midget janitor, cleaning the floor.
