Well, could be of mutual benefit. For a car chase, the team would want the roads in good condition and some of the streets get perhaps much needed road repair done at the cost and labor of the production team. Sort of akin to being able to keep your wardrobe after a film.

If I was a gambling man, I'd wager the photo call may include Craig, Waltz, Bellucci and Bautista.

I'm not expecting to see Lea Seydoux unfortunately.

Article in tomorrow's Times suggests the producers are filling in potholes in Rome. Behind a paywall unfortunately.

First time I read this Vaux, I thought you had written "The producers are filling in PLOTholes in Rome.." and thought "Uh oh! More script problems??" LOL

A lot of bit casting news lately. I wonder if it's for a potential SPECTRE global operative meeting like in TB. I'm really hoping for a bad guy briefing scene like that this time around.

Haha! You may have a point there. Maybe this is their way of gently breaking the news to us...Article in tomorrow's Times suggests the producers are filling in potholes in Rome. Behind a paywall unfortunately.http://www.thetimes....icle4342196.ece

Seems that some people in Rome are concerned with how run down and trashy some of the filming locations are..perhaps this is why the production are offering to fill in pot holes and such, to easy people's trepidation...interesting..

That is interesting. Highlights the always interesting interplay between the glamour of a film location and the reality of he real world place. Having visited Rome, it IS beyond beautiful but as those pictures show, any city has plenty of unattractive qualities / areas. They'll easily CGI out any graffiti, and as we know, the night shoot will likely hide it all anyway. Even so, Bond or not, you'd have thought they'd have cleared some of that up already - it's not as though the graffiti is not in a prominent location. A real shame.

Yeah, and you'd think that the production would have noticed the problematic areas of the locations when doing location scouting and pre-production.
Maybe they wanted to include a bit of true grit in the location, juxtaposing the stunning with the seedy?

Valid point. Couldn't help but think the same way.

For what it's worth for those reading along, I can say that report isn't entirely accurate about how the action sequence plays out.http://nbcnews.to/1v7SjoM

I agree with others who have noted the team must have noticed these points when scouting!

Some more on this...apparently the Italian authorities are committed to making things all spic-n-span before the Bond team arrives...
"Well get cracking, 007!!"

Would be hilarious if the Bond team then set-dressed it back to original order...

I think the kids were their saving grace - If it were just adults, I recon the security would have come down pretty hard on them, but as children were there and they had camera, they decided it may look bad if security came down too hard on them...
