Great footage. I'm looking forward to this sequence. It should be funny and thrilling at the same time.

The last bit of it with the wide shot where you can see the guns firing is a pure "Bond Moment" IMO. Cut together, widesecreen, music, distinctive roar of an Aston Martin = EPIC.
Also, it does sort of establish that Bond is going to be chased. The Jaguar is still parked in the background. Can't really tell, but I'm guessing Bond will be in his tux. Perfection.

Listening to reputable breakfast UK station BBC Radio 2 this morning, DJ Chris Evans reported on the new 'Spectre' still and footage and said that he had a phonecall to go to Milan next Saturday the 21st of Feb to carry out a 1-1 interview with Daniel Craig where they will be filming the car chase.
He then laughed it off saying he had a call to cancel as DC wouldn't be there....but I thought had he said too much and covering his tracks?
Head to Milan next Saturday!
EDIT: Oh and the set footage looks so good. That Aston Martin engine....it's so delicious! Very exciting.

I agree. I'm really looking forward to seeing it all culminate on the big screen!

The QoS chase sequence was good, but I'm positive it can be bettered. Especially with a less shaky camera and the possibility of some 'hidden extras'.

Mission Impossible III filmed at the Vatican and blew some stuff up and I don't recall Cruise and company having any problems. Then again, I was more closely following production on CR at the time. Granted, it was nine plus years ago and maybe whoever is handling their film office isn't quite as skilled or their policy has changed.
You'd think that have it a bit more together for Bond.

Apparently the "Brotherhood of the Dead" are causing problems - https://translate.go...t-text=&act=url
Just a warning, there are some mild spoilers involved...
The end of the article is restricted behind a pay wall.

May depend on who they bribed (or better: did not bribe).

An update on the Ponte Sisto situation. As far as I can tell, it seems that the ghost won't delay filming plans there... Fancy that!

Fancy that indeed old boy.
I can't recall the Italian phrase, but per Stromberg's observation above, there's an old quote of the right person being "Given the Thumb" - (i.e. - Thumbing out cash (hard currency) to someone who can make things happen or "go away" ) and both Cubby and Harry were really good at doing both.
Seems like the tradition continues.
Nothing wrong in it, but it's the advantage when you're dealing with producers/owners as opposed to a studio. That's the magic of Bond.

A DB6? And isn't that a DBS next to it?

I like the idea that Bond could have a quick, envious glance across at all the great cars parked outside the palace. Nice little nod to his car obsession.

Oh yes on both. Cute nod to each given Craig's tenure.
Never cared much for the DB6 or it's rear end. From the doors forward, it's all but identical to a DB5, but the latter wasn't the best design IMO. It's a fine model - I've driven two - but it's not a DB5. The DBS is a champion. Back when John, Athena and I visited Club Aston here in L.A., we all got taken for a spin in one and it was a bloody rocket that hugged the road like a magnet. I rented one a few years later (don't ever ask how much I paid for two days) and I will say that, after a true DB5 and*IF*I had disposable income, I'd take one.
Great to give the nod though and I'd love it if, when Bond arrives and steps out of the DB10, he glanced at both and either gave a glance with a wry smile or maybe had a one liner along the lines of "Time's change." or something like that.

The Daily Mirror says people in Rome are renting out their flats for a view of the car chase filming. There's a few details in there which I'd say are probably just guesswork rather than fact. They also misspell the film's title as "Sceptre"...

Ah, thanks Vauxhaull!
This article is precious... Il Corriere, famous Italian daily, is mocking the Mirror for spreading the rumour that Rome "is practically in the hands of a cult of spiritists, shaking with fear at the idea of disturbing a ghost"

I have to say with Craig's run, the production team really are finding some beautiful locations, blending old and new.
