I have to say with Craig's run, the production team really are finding some beautiful locations, blending old and new.
You can say that again. That location will surely look stunning!

Looks great indeed! Who knows..It may turn out to be better than the original cemetary that Mendes had wanted..

Hopefully. If they've changed from a cemetery to a museum I guess the location for this scene musn't be that important. I think the new spot looks fine, and I agree that it evokes TSWLM.

Not forgetting those who have spent hundreds each day to hire out flats from the Italian residents so they can watch filming, wouldn't be surprised if we got some videos from that.Yup, I'm thinking we'll be seeing a lot more of the production in the days ahead. Rome is not nearly as isolated as Solden, so we should have some nice BTS pictures to sift through soon.

The media have had plenty of time to work out ways of getting shots since we've known the locations for Rome for a bit now, so I'm sure they'll be pictures in international media.

The museum is now a... cementery

The fact that they've matched the stone work of the steps and pillars with the mock up of the faux memorial wall (I think that's what it is from the photo) shows that the location has at least been locked in for a short while - maybe the real cemetery that the monks said No to was only a potential location.

Museo della Civiltà Romana, Marino-Barca: "renovation works will start soon"
Financial resources necessary for the redevelopment of the Museo della Civiltà Romana have been allocated today. With the funds, requested by the mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino and by the Municipal Councillor for Culture Flavia Barca, a tender will be called for the renovation works, which will include: the redevelopment of the exhibition halls , the upgrade to current regulations on hygiene and fire prevention, the safety of the area and the removal of architectural barriers .
These works will also cover the large model of Imperial Rome and the historic rooms of the Museum, the Planetarium and the Astronomy Museum, resulting in the immediate closure to the public of the Museo della Civiltà Romana.
"Finally, the city's best educational Museum will now undergo redevelopment works," stated the Mayor Marino and the Councillor Barca. "It was several years that these funds were awaited. The enhancement of our cultural heritage and of a museum complex like the Museo della Civiltà Romana, frequented mainly by young students, results from action like these."

The matching of the stone and marble really is very good.

The Italian Bond fan club has tweeted us ggesting Craig and Bellucci have been spotted at the fantastic Terrazza Caffarelli al Campidoglio. That could be the photo call location rather than part of the film but let's see what emerges.
They've also confirmed they've been invited to filming at the museum/cemetery set tomorrow lunchtime.
Photo call location? Can't imagine why...

I tell you what, the effort production crews go to make everything just perfect. The marble plaques on the wall...I mean, 99% of us won't think twice about them in the film and just take it for what it's set out to be, but seeing that amount of effort going into set design is so commendable.
Bloody bravo to all the crew who do the work we don't even think about half the time to make these films look brilliant.
Now where's this photo op.
