Brilliant news guys, thanks for sharing.

Still like the DB9 better, but this still looks a fine car. And Craig is really harkening a 60s style about him, looking very stylish and sophisticated.

I saw a DB9 the other day, its one of those cars where it looks good in the pictures but even a really good picture of a DB9 wont prepare you for how good it looks in the flesh.

The DB9 is 12 years old now and they've hardly changed it.

Photo of a map showing how the car chase is planned to develop. Warning: heavy spoilers ahead.

Moderator edit: Link removed. From what we know, posting this image here (or linking to it) might bring trouble. Which we don't want. Sorry for that. stromberg

Again, sorry. Had to be done.

I understand. Wise decision, Stromberg. :)

How have they managed to get British numberplates wrong? :)

Apparently they got the Italian numberplates wrong too... had 90s plates on modern cars?

Really- for this film or in Quantum? I haven't spotted any other cars from this chase that aren't the Aston and Jag in the photos yet.

It's just so weird; I can just about not worry about it being registered as a 2010 car, but UK numberplates should be yellow. That's just a really hard thing to get wrong, unless they think it looks bad with a yellow plate for some reason?

I wonder how careful they have to be not to flip that car with the driver on the roof? Less pretty wheels on that one!

This film, the scenes filmed at Blenheim Palace where they replaced British number plates for Italian:-

The plates shown look to be 1976 - 1985 style rather than the modern style from 1999

Gotcha. Yes, they do look weird. Judging by the wipers that Aston is right hand drive too! :)

If the Bond fans can spot these "mistakes" (if they are, indeed, mistakes) from still photos on the set, shouldn't the Fact Checkers from the production, prop department etc have worked these out beforehand?

The plates may have been selected for legitimate production reasons rather than simply being a mistake (i.e. the legal difficulties involved in creating counterfeit license plates).

I'm sure there's some reason but I doubt that they'd suddenly be the only production who aren't allowed to make fake numberplates! :)

Are there any other films from recent years to shoot car stuff in Italy with automobiles that were imported into the country? I'd be curious to see if they did the same thing.

Fantastic little bit. I suspect this could be another classic "Bond arrives in...." shot with Craig clearly behind the wheel. Put a good score over it and some insert close-ups and 007 is on the scene.

I am envisioning a sequence like that as well.

From what we have seen, Bond's wardrobe has been impressive. Really classy. I can't wait to see how Craig looks in a tuxedo this time.

Dave Bautista has now arrived in Rome, after flying in from London this evening.

I'd guess that means we can expect the chase scenes to get fully under way in the next day or so.

I hope they use the "Hinx" character properly. Possibly a returning henchmen in the Jaws strain...

But without messing up the character in the second film.

Tonight they're also filming the car chase scenes along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The security is very tight, as you can see in the pictures.

Yes, from what I can tell, they're doing Corso Vittorio Emanuele II first this evening, followed by Ponte Sisto later in the night (presumably with fewer crowds around).

As long as it's better than the car chase in QOS (which I'm sure it will be), then I'm happy.

Depends on the editing, I suppose. Many chases are as good as their editing. But this one has all the ingredients of a true classic.

Definitely. The locations in itself should take it to the top tier - classic Roman boulevards, the Vatican, the Tiber - one of the world's great cities.

Good to see Dave Bautista is already taking in the sights too:

Glad to be of service, Vauxhall.
With regard to the shoes, I'd say they're not exactly John Lobb's double monkstraps...
Interestingly, Hinx's car is left hand drive ( see picture #7) while 007's one is right hand drive, this could lead to some visually interesting shots when the two cars are paired.

Nice one Luigi...similar phots and coverage here in the UK tabloids, just for those who don't read Italian:

http://www.dailymail...y-trainers.html

But another show that our UK media just are brainless. A worthy headline for DC filming in Rome?

'Bond star Daniel Craig teams his trademark suit with scruffy trainers as he prepares to shoot active scenes for Spectre in Rome'

and one of their observations...

"While the footwear will no doubt be cropped out of the final edit..."

OH! Really? Thanks for that barnstorming journalism there.

I wonder why they felt the need to blur the licence plate? From what we've seen it custom made for the film?

And yet further down the article, it has the Licence Plate unblurred...
