Alright so, the whole Rose Tyler not returning thing is a bit old news, but this quote amused me:

"You have to hand it to the Doctor for dumping a slightly needy girlfriend by palming her off on a copy of himself. He tried leaving her in a parallel universe and that didn’t work!"

Steven Moffat on whether or not Rose shall be returning.

As for it being on youtube, Planet of the Dead was up on multiple websites within two hours of it having aired in the UK. The Christmas specials normally move even faster.

Scifi channel is having another one of their Dr Who marathons. Presently the end of the Shakespeare Code. First time seeing it a long while, and I've just noticed something. The Tenth Doctor does something to upset Elizabeth I at some point in his future, something that upset her enough to refer to him as her sworn enemy. Unless this was covered in a comic or something I haven't seen read, I must express some disappointment at never finding out why this happens, what with his tenure ending very soon.

Who knows? It might be covered in The End of Time.

Quite true, but I doubt it. Still, could always be covered in the future. Audio, comic, book, multi-Doctor special, etc.

We've already had two pop stars. I'm quite full, thank you.

Edit:

I know they keep saying this is for interstellar travel, but the only thing going through my mind is:

Time
And
Relative
Dimension
In
Space

Hell of a lot better than

T Transmission
O Of
M Matter
T Through
I Interstitial
T Time

B)

Kudos to the actors who could say that without laughing (although I'm sure there were a lot of outtakes).

You know what I'd like to see them do with the new series? Not do it often, mind, but every now and again. Way, way back in the days of the First Doctor, there were episodes where it's not, y'know, some alien menace or save the world or space adventure or anything like that. There aren't a lot of them, especially beyond the first season, but I really love stories like The Aztecs, where it's just The Doctor & Co end up in ancient Mexico and yes stuff goes wrong, but more than anything really it's a study of Aztec culture. One of my favorite moments from the Aztecs is when Barbara, who has been mistaken for a deity, attempts to stop a human sacrifice and the young woman commits suicide rather than live with the shame of not having gone through with the sacrifice. The now audio-only (although there are some nice reconstructions to be found) Marco Polo is another fine example. I positively love those episodes, the episode where it's just a group of time travelers going through time instead of a band of heroes of space and time. Would love to see that sort of thing make a return.

But that's just my haypenny.

Yeah I kinda agree, I think if the episode had a brilliant script then it could be pulled off.
We all know that the original intention for the show was to be educational for the kids like a history lesson.
I like it when there is something alien attached to the historical stories like in Fires of Pompeii, and the meeting of famous historial figures - you know Van Gough's poppin up in the new series?
My only worry would be is that the target audience wouldn't get it and switch off.
Damn Gen Y

I've just noticed something

Jackson LAKE

Christina de SOUSA - the name is of uncertain origin, but was probably applied originally to a salt marsh, from a variant of "sausa", salty (from the Latin "salsa"), with the word "agua", water (Latin "aqua")

Adelaide BROOKE

Amy POND

and of course

RIVER Song

I'm drowning with thoughts of what this could all mean

1. Interesting. Only things I can find on Sousa/Souza state it's a Portuguese name derived from a place.
2. Mayhaps you're on to something, but methinks you are just reading too much into it, though.

And what a decent halfpenny it was too. B)

I agree totally. Love those episodes but you have to admit, the low budget of them and wobbling sets made them even eerier.
No eeriness left anymore. Too many special effects spoil the broth.

But I guess it's all relative right? I mean this generation will look back on Tennant et al and think the same thing we do of Pertwee et al.

With wistful, innocent, eyes half shut behind the sofa cherishment (or I hope they do).
SIGH

Yeah I agree. When you keep raising the stakes where is there left to go? It's time to go back to more contained storylines. The last four episodes/specials have had: another Dalek Invasion of Earth (which predated THE Dalek invasion of Earth, but apparently no-one in 2154 had heard of the 2008 invasion...), the Earth being moved, a threat to all actual existence via Davros, the immanent destruction of Victorian England (which obviously couldn't have succeeded...) and the, ummm immanent extinction of all life on Earth by organic/metallic sperm cells... Tennant's finale will of course have to go even further than this - but what it could be beyond these I have no clue!?!

On other thoughts...

Is anyone following the Hornets' Nest CDs?
Just finished No.3 The Circus of Doom and was more than a little underwhelmed.
Tom's performance was very poor. He had seemed to get back to some form in The Dead Shoes, but this effort has him vamping shamelessly.
He's done this smarmy "Nyah haha" in both this and the previous episode making me really wonder if he even remembers how he used to play the Doctor - or indeed if he even cares. Actually when he's playing "The Doctor" he sounds disturbingly like Lady Adrasta from his Creature of the Pit Audio!!!
The Circus of Doom as a story was virtually identical to the Dead Shoes, with another artiste in some period of history being infected by the Swarm and the Doctor basically sitting around watching performances and freaking out the locals... ho hum. And the "Pigbin Josh" provincial accents??? The less said the better oo arr.
The whole Swarm conceit is very dreary and takes almost all surprise out of the stories - we know who the "villain" is every time! Lazy stuff.

Alun Vega has more more pictures, this time from the Temple of Peace, which has thrice appeared in the new series. More may follow shortly.

And here we have something a little interesting.

Where in the heck did you get John Bennet's c v ?

Maybe you should blot out his contact details, if it gets traced back to this site there could be problems.

Well to be fair it's only rumored to be the Silurian Senate. I sure hope that's the case though.

Also, some Waters of Mars goodies and a little David Tennant goodie.

Now I can't wait even more  At the very least it'll be up on Megavideo or another HQ source by 7, which gives me plenty of time to watch before the Prisoner.

Also HOLY FRAK that trailer. Awesome. Could be only be better if TDalt were in there somewhere.
