Mendes was very excited about the song, so that's promising.

Would he have honestly said otherwise...?

He went a little out of his way to hype it up, so I think that his enthusiasm was genuine.

Sounds like we are definitely learning who the artist is on Tuesday. Can't wait.

As Shrublands posted earlier, Sept. 8th (this coming Tuesday) all should be revealed! :)

By the way - nothing on the official site about this.  Could this be fake?

It's been by no means confirmed. There was just a suggestion the artist was being announced as tickets go on sale in the US. Will just be a case of waiting and seeing tomorrow whether that's true.

I was going to say, as tickets start to go on sale in the UK today and US tomorrow, EON need to up the hype train for 'SPECTRE' now - get the word out again and get the buzz going, so revealing the theme song and artist will at least get some airplay on radio and maintain the enthusiasm for it.

Fingers crossed for this. I could read Trigger Mortis while listening to the new title song.

I've done a quick research, and it seems HitFix is reliable enough.

Anyone know what specific time on Tuesday morning an announcement may be made?

I'm reading this as morning in America. So maybe 5pm GMT again, like most news?

5pm UK time - should've clarified. It'll be morning in the US and given the announcement ties in with the US ticket release, it makes sense.

Interesting that HitFix claims the song itself will actually be released. I was only expecting an announcement at this point.

It would actually make sense to release the song as a big advertisement for the advance ticket sales.

But I keep my expectations down.  Don´t want to be disappointed tomorrow when it´s not announced or released.  I have the feeling it would be a bit early, two months before the release of the movie.

Just over 7 weeks till release so not unreasonable for it to be now, but I think releasing the song now is unlikely.

The last Bond theme wasn't released online until the first week in October 2012 - I think it was early the first Friday in October at 00.07 am! (When it became available to download.)

There's about six or seven weeks to go until the film's release in the UK. We might find out who the performer is tomorrow but I'll be surprised if we get the song until about a month before release at the earliest.

In fact trawling the internet archives, the earliest I can find that confirmed Adele to be performing Skyfall was 17th September 2012 - others may find something earlier. It might be we get to know tomorrow who's doing the SPECTRE theme but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't.

One more thing - I wonder if we'll be the release of Thomas Newman's score for SPECTRE before, at the same time or after the release of the film - as I recall it was after the release of Skyfall last time around.

I remember Amazon posting samples from the soundtrack and then a website posted three full tracks (Granborough Road and Grand Bazaar, I forgot what the third was) but I completely forgot when that was (if my memory serves correctly it was around the release of the Skyfall song), whereas the full soundtrack was on YouTube on the 23rd of october.

The third sample was Severine, as I recall, one of my favourite pieces from the SF soundtrack. There was also, not long before the release of the theme, a brief, no more than 30 to 45 seconds release of the chorus section of Skyfall, leading up to the four note Monty Norman interpolation.

I remember thinking at the time; well they've finally included the classic theme again after all these years! (And yes I now the Norman theme notes are heard, briefly in GE's theme, but in SF they are well and truly part of the theme tune.)

Wonder if they'll figure again in the SPECTRE theme?

I would like to hear a hint to the Bond theme in SPECTRE title song also!

......hm. I wasn't exactly jumping for joy when this flagged up on my Twitter feed just now.

Hm.

So a dreary one-toned theme song then. Brilliant.

YEAH YEAH I know I can't judge until I hear the song BUT that's my initial verdict as it goes with everything I've heard from him before. And he's a dirty liar which means he ISN'T singing the song, so Waltz ISN'T Blofeld.

Gahh I'm all worked up now.

I haven't liked any of his songs I've heard but will remain open-minded for now.

Credit though for a pretty decent way of announcing it.

I was hoping he was just pulling legs...but I guess not.

I hate the fact I'm going to struggle with this as I genuinely can't stand his voice or his style of singing and song.
