If they can't come up with anyone, I'd happily step in
Can't promise that it'd be a song to rival Bassey (or Madonna for that matter) but I'd do my best...
I'll take you over Sam Smith (Provided he sings the song for Spectre), any day

I can honestly see it being Adele, which I'm in two minds about. For one thing it makes sense in terms of Spectre following the same thematic elements presented in Skyfall but on the other hand it's a bit of a safe choice. I wouldn't be totally against some kind of end theme by her though. Let someone else have a crack at the main one. If she was chosen, I'd be a bit miffed but soon get over it. I'm sure if she is the singer it'll be a cracking theme but ideally I wouldn't mind hearing someone else.

JCRendle and the CBn Band! Let's make it happen!

Might be a bit early to complain about something that hasn't happened!

Well it has been rumoured for a while and Daniel Craig has expressed his interest in Adele returning. I'm not exactly complaining, just saying it would be a tad disappointing if it was confirmed because it seems a bit of an obvious choice.

Tom Jones is doing quite well at the moment with the British public, due to The Voice UK - they may give him another crack of the whip

Thunderball is my second favorite Bond song, so I surely wouldn't mind Tom Jones returning - he still has a great voice!

Yes I think it is between Adele and Sam Smith.
If it was between the two, I would want Adele, as long as it was something upbeat. But I think it will be Sam.

That is a nice thought, although I doubt EON would go for it. There's simply too much money to be made on a top selling artist singing the title theme. I'd definitely be all for it though. Seeing a beautiful orchestral piece by Newman would be amazing.

!!!! i've been saying for two years they should just bring her back. Right now there aren't many i can imagine doing a real genuine Bond song other than Adele. Maybe Lana Del Rey, maybe Sam Smith

I still think Daft Punk could do wonders.

For some reason, I was thinking last night that I wouldn't mind Harry Connick, Jr. having the chance to do a Bond theme...

usually they choose someone who's had a hit song within the last decade or two.

Just a suggestion.

I've been loving the '50th Anniversary' Bond CD music recently again and the instrumental music like '007 Theme' and 'FRWL Opening Theme' - just fantastic, and the power of music conveying emotion without words is so strong, I wished 'Spectre' had no theme song and just music, like 'OHMSS'.

Admittedly, it would be lovely. I'd be all for Newman doing some sort of ballad for the opening titles. However, the fact that so much money is to be made if they choose a popular artist to sing the main theme sort of outweighs that. So I really doubt it would happen. It would be great though.

I have Hozier's 'Take Me to Church' stuck in my head. I think a tune like that would be a killer Bond song, set against an equally moody set of visuals.

While I like Adele, I would rather have someone else take a turn at doing a Bond theme. However, if it came down to her or Sam Smith, I would take Adele returning. But while I liked Skyfall, I didn't love it. I would hope if she got another chance that she would do something more like Rolling In The Deep or Rumor Has It.
My preference for SPECTRE would be Michael Buble. I think he would do a good job. Or for someone from yesteryear, Bryan Adams. He's done a few successful theme songs for movies and is one of my favorites.

I wouldn´t mind Chris Cornell doing another one. YKMN is IMO one of the best Bond songs ever.

Absolutely. I know I wouldn't object to such a thing!

Count me in. One of the series' most underrated title songs, too.

I hated the Chris Cornell song. I hope he never returns.

I think they should have handed the song off to another artist to perform. The rock version of the song that Cornell released was quite good, but what they chose to use in the final film was a dreadful mix and a rather poor vocal from Cornell.

Can't say I've compared the two versions, or that there was even a difference. The song on his album is not the same as heard in the movie?

It's the same lyrics and all of that, but the version he released as a single is not the one heard in the film. I haven't listened to either in a long while, so I can't speak to the absolute specifics of how they're different, but from what I remember, the single version seemed to have a slightly faster pace to it and relied more on the guitar as its primary instrument. The version in the film indulges in the kinds of flourishes that we associate with what makes something sound "Bondian".
