I think if that is something of the new theme for Superman, it works very well and Zimmer has done good to echo the heroic theme from John Williams, but craft something more set in todays reality.

You really can't compare anything to John Williams theme. Nothing will ever touch it. The idea is to just create a theme that resembles a hope filled, epic adventure...Superman for today. No matter how hard Zimmer or anyone tries, there will only be one Superman theme.

I've not seen 'The Amazing Spiderman' yet, but from the looks of Jamie Foxx as Electro here snapped in NY last week for filming the sequel, something tells me I should...!

And his nerdy alter-ego Max Dillon before the transformation..

...and the new Harry Osborn...

Jamie Fox's character looks comical with his glasses. That third picture of him, he looks like a walking zombie.

Zod looks incredibly, laughably, ridiculous
You really seem determined to hate MAN OF STEEL.

I'm not a fan yet of the new Spiderman films, but I will try 'The Amazing Spiderman' soon - they've certainly made the pre and post change to Electro very effective, I'll give them that!
And Ace! Come on! Such negativity so soon! There's nowt wrong with Zod in that - just a nice, general bad-ass pose!

Determined? No. It looks just blatantly un-inspiring.

It's not negativity, It's just an opinion. There's a difference. I think Michael Shannon is a fantastic actor, but the overall design and look of the character in the film looks laughable. Nothing "Bad Ass" at all.

You´re entitled to your opinion, of course. And if you don´t like anything about MAN OF STEEL, if you don´t feel inspired or "bad assed" enough, then that is perfectly fine.

Has anyone have yet to hear Zimmer's new Superman theme?
I'm hearing a little of David Arnold's 'You Know My Name' from Casino Royale in the theme. Zimmer only continues to prove he is a hack.

This might help: "Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you..."
Anyone else hearing it?

I can tell where you're coming from - it's that brassy punch.
It does sound a brilliant score, I would not complain were that his new Superman theme - powerful, heroic and exciting.
And even though Zod doesn't appear much, I love the way he barks "I WILL FIND HIM!". He sounds proper...mental!
And on other metal related news, the EMPIRE review for 'Iron Man 3' is in - and gives it 4 out of 5 stars.

Nope, didn't hear it.

David Arnold's use of that melody throughout the Casino Royale scores matches it much more closely than the song itself. The structures of both phrases hit the same primary notes.

That is an extremely common chord progression in music. To back up the claim that Zimmer is a hack by saying that progression ripped off a David Arnold composition is grasping at straws.

Oh, that's not why I think he is a hack. I know he is a hack for countless other reasons.

Haha! Maybe it's near his transformation, or soon into the disfigurement and he's having trouble walking, like they all do when they become mutated evil villains!

Funny you mention that because when I looked at the picture again that's what I thought of and I was about to post that on this forum when I saw you already did.
