I saw a few reports that Snyder had left 'Justice League' for personal reasons...can't find it this morning.

I was praying it wasn't some early April Fools gag...

For good or bad, it was an April Fools joke.  He's still firmly attached and even talking about it in new interviews since then.

True, but Hans Zimmer has bailed on it, won't even score any superhero films anymore.

The guy would be burned out. He effectively said as much, citing his decade working on the Nolan Batman trilogy.

Zimmer's score was as lazy as Newman's in 'SPECTRE' for me during 'BvS' - nothing exciting or fresh at all. Disregard Wonder Woman's theme, there was very little "superhero" about it. No return of the Superman motif used in 'MoS' and not even a memorable Batman theme. I know JXL had a hand in it too, but for a film as epic as this was meant to be, the soundtrack wasn't the only thing that fell flat IMO.

I agree the score isn’t an immediate standout, or as good as Man of Steel. However it’s grown on me. Beautiful Lie and Day of the Dead are my favourites. It’s not uplifting stuff, but it’s emotionally affecting, and especially works well in context of the visuals.

I thought the Wonder Woman theme was the best part of it, but that might have been Junkie XL.  And where was a Batman theme?  Sad when it makes you miss Elliott Goldenthal.  And I generally like Hans Zimmer too.

The reflective version of the theme is found in New Rules and They Were Hunters. The full blown Batman theme is during Men Are Still Good. An action variation is heard during Do You Bleed?

I liked it. Surprised it is not doing better. I'm not sure what people did not really like about it, I was not a fan of Lex Luther. I would have made it more about Batman and Superman but I'm no director or fan of the comics so I wouldn't know what I'm doing. Seemed like a lot happened, I'll probably see it again. I wanted this to be a success and revival Marvel but I'm seeing a lot of well negative reviews.

Introducing Doctor Strange; bravest and riskiest looking Marvel film to date?

Looks intriguing.  Marvel knows how to do it.

Regarding the BvS score, it was definitely very lazy. The only good track on there that I love is the opening "Beautiful Lie" which I think is well done. The rest of the score is just similar in style to Man of Steel: An over-reliance and emphasis on overbearing drumming. It didn't help the fact by bringing in Junkie XL whose work I find to be pretty indistinguishable excluding Black Mass and Deadpool. The score was just boring and repetitive. The new theme for Batman was extremely bland too which I was disappointing as I was wondering what Zimmer and Co would come up with for this new incarnation of the caped crusader.

I can see Snyder going with Junkie XL on Justice League or possibly reuniting with Tyler Bates. For Zimmer's final comic book film score, it's very underwhelming.

As for Doctor Strange, I'll be there opening night. It's been the only comic book film that has held my interest and excitement for a while now, plus it does look different from the rest of Marvel's formulaic mold. Marvel couldn't have found a better actor to embody Stephen Strange.
