So I am a huge geek for Superhero movies, so I was thinking that this could be the official superhero thread. I know there is a thread for Ironman 3, but maybe we could condense this all in one topic? Anyway here are the official release dates for the superhero films..

Ironman 3
May 3rd 2013

Thor The Dark World
November 8th 2013

Captain America and the Winter Soldier
April 4th 2014

Amazing Spiderman 2
May 2nd 2014

Superman
June 14th 2013.

Wolverine
July 26th 2013

X-Men First Class sequel
(2014)

Justice League (reboot)
(2015)

Batman (reboot)
2016

Anyway this could be the offical superhero movies thread! Personally I can't wait for Ironman 3 and the new captain america. How about everyone else? Which one is your favorite?

Could care less about the Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but would like to see a follow up to 2008's 'The Incredible Hulk' though. I'm excited for 'Man Of Steel', being that it is directed by Zack Snyder, I don't see what else go wrong with it, He's directed some great comic/graphic novel adaptions such as 'Watchmen' and '300'.

My favorite superhero is more of a vigilante, and that's the Punisher, and his last outing 'Punisher: War Zone' I thought was fantastic, but was a shame that it didn't do well at the box office, would've been nice to a sequel.

Waiting on Guillermo Del Toro to be done with 'Pacific Rim' and hopefully return and direct a third 'Hellboy' Installment.

While this next film may not be a superhero film, it is based on a comic/graphic novel and that's 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For". 8 years later, the sequel is finally ready and I'm excited!

Need to see 'The Amazing Spider-Man' first, before going ahead and jumping on board for a sequel.

Excited for 'The Wolverine' as it comes out July 26th, 2013 (MY BIRTHDAY :D ) and the sequel to X-Men: First Class in 2014

Oh the wolverine! okay I will add it to the release dates. I was just thinking this could be easier if we included all the discussions about the superhero movies in this thread.

All the Avengers are getting old already, except Captain America - I don't mind his films, so I look forward to 'The Winter Soldier'.

My hero for 2013 is the big blue boy scouts return...it will make or break him I feel, and I am praying we get something really special and epic!

Would be good if JGL took up BatMan for JL. It would be a nice loop from the Nolan universe and keep things familiar for audiences.

On the 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' front, seems like with old faves Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen coming back, we also have Hugh Jackman in talks - this could be the X-Men film we've been waiting for...

Ah nice I mean I don't know that much about electro, but Jamie Foxx is a good actor. I have never been a huge fan of X-Men but I did love First Class so the next one should be good

Do yourself a favor and watch them, except 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', it's pretty terrible, but you won't need to watch it for 'The Wolverine' as it's a sequel to 'X-Men: The Last Stand'.

The new Xmen films sound like they'll be awesome connecting the 2 different story's together and I just seen Law Abiding Citizen and think Jamie Fox will do great, he's come along way since 'In Living Color'.

I don't really know much about the Justice League and never heard of this villain before.

Incredibly underwhelming poster. Slowly starting to distance myself from this film because of Christopher Nolan and 3D.

In other news Michael Shannon, who plays General Zod in the film won't say the famous line:

Is 'Man Of Steel' going to be 3D also? Hm...not sure about that added gimmick to something as big as this.

And rumour has it we get the first trailer on December 14th....fingers crossed!

Aww, I didn't think they would do that - it always makes me feel nervous doing 3D now with major films.

Yeah I agree, I am not that big of a fan of 3D and interesting Dane Dehaan cast as Harry Osbourne, I have never heard of him before but I did a google search on him and I could see him playing Harry.

I couldn't really care any less about Man of Steel. I was never a Superman fan and except for Batman Begins, the DC movies all suck. I'm looking forward to Iron Man 3 and the next Captain America.

Agreed, after seeing the disasters of the last 2 batman movies, I have no confidence that Nolan can deliver on a superhero that I like even less than Batman.

The one thing that won't let me completely move away from the film is Zack Snyder. I haven't been disappointed by any of his films. But I agree, I had trust In Nolan before TDKR, then when walked out of the theater, all that went out the window.

I Haven't seen a great Superhero film since 2009 and that was 'Watchmen' which was Zack Snyder, and before that it was 'Punisher: War Zone'.

I'll wait for a possible third trailer, but expect me to see this one a while after it's been in theaters. I personally feel a continuation from 'Superman Returns' would have been much more necessary rather than a reboot, which in my eyes is a studios decision to just redo it again.

I've gotten sick of reboots. Enough. Do we really need to retell the origin story with every single franchise? I still need to see Punisher: War Zone, I've heard good things about it. How does it compare with The Punisher (2004)? I love that film and am hesitant about War Zone as it is essentially a reboot of the 2004 film. Also, have you seen this?

The Punisher Is my all time favorite Comic Book character. What I like about 'War Zone' is that It jumps straight into the action and it doesn't stop. It's a great Comic Book/Superhero film and a great Action film overall. It does tell the back story of how Frank Castle became The Punisher in a single scene and that's it. I liked it because we all know why he does what he does, there is no need to tell it again. I love all the Punisher films, yes even the Dolph Lundgren film. BUY IT, that's all I gotta say.

Yeah, I saw that when It came out and was blown away. Very well done and Loved the treat at the end!

I'd love a sequel to 'War Zone' but that won't happen with it's Box Office result. If another film is to be made in the future, I'll be there for it whether it is a reboot or a sequel or whatever.

May I ask, why do both of you have so much hate for the Batman film franchise? I am not a fanboy or anything, I am just curious as to why you don't particularly like them?

Nolan's film series started off great with 'Batman Begins'. Got even better with 'The Dark Knight' and ended on a seriously weak and piss poor note with 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
