Iron Man can be as evergreen as James Bond: Kevin Feige

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, says there will be more sequels of Iron Man and that the character of Tony Stark can be as popular as James Bond. "I believe there will be a fourth Iron Man film and a fifth and a sixth and a 10th and a 20th. I see no reason why Tony Stark can't be as evergreen as James Bond," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Feige as saying.

Since the beginning of the franchise the character has been played by Robert Downey Jr., and Feige said it will not die when its star decides that it's time to step down.

I hated what they did with the mandarin in Iron Man 3, I won't provide spoilers but what they did with the villain was really bad....

I agree. I'm just really disappointed with the final result. Iron Man 3 suffered the curse as well.

Did you see it as well? I mean I give the movie a B-/C+ rating, it was better than Iron Man 2 but Iron Man is still the best.

It was just as if not worse than Iron Man 2. I find your rating ridiculous, then again you probably only watched it for the sole entertainment value purpose. Did I see it? I dunno, figure it out. Its not like it matters if I post it on here or not.

I guess it's all a matter of opinion, but I enjoyed Iron Man 3 way more than Iron Man 2, I mean the mandarin was pretty bad.. but I thought other parts of the movie were entertaining. Would I buy this movie on DVD? Definitely not. I did go to see it for the entertainment of it being an action movie.

And you could have read reviews/spoilers on the internet, so I was just curious if you have seen it or not.

I admit I'm not a big 'Iron Man' fan and I read about what happened in 'IM3' out of sheer curiosity. I will see it on DVD, but I'll just borrow it rather than rent or buy. I didn't like 'IM2' either, so that put me off further.

A brave step with the Mandarin is all I can say...you don't expect that sort of thing in a film as big as this.

Yeah but they just went in a really weird direction with it.

I agree. The twist probably worked better on paper.

I loved Iron Man 3. I think it's the best of the bunch. Very cool, and very funny.

I don't think it's the best. Iron Man 1 is still the best of the Marvel movies, but I do like IM3 a lot. I don't understand why so many people are down on the Mandarin. I thought that was a bit of genius.

I liked IM3 but with reservations;

definitely better than IM2 but still lacked the spark of the first pic.

I'm still on the fence on the Mandarin, I can go either way;

It was brave of them, but i do wonder how many comic books fans were pissed off...

Tho with the audiences these movies get, Comic book fans are now only a small % of potential viewers.

'Iron Man 3' box-office is currently something like $941m worldwide... I never thought he had THAT much appeal!

Well, goodwill created by THE AVENGERS, Downey jr. and the fact that this is the first major summer film, hyped to the max by PR... there you go.

Touche!

Some new set-pics from 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', this time with Rhino and Spidey.

Seems like Rhino is more like the 'Bane' of this film, a super strong general everyday villain.

Gutted we won't see Rhino in the grey armour with a horn. *sigh*

He looks better then I thought he would have. The tattoos really help toughen him up a little IMO. I'm a little wary about The Amazing Spider Man 2 turning into something like Spider-Man 3, with numerous villains and subplots that it almost becomes touch and go.

I think Spidey's suit looks better than in TASM, but I really am not all that excited for TASM2. Nor do I think Rhino looks anything like what he is supposed to. The look they have him in here, he comes off as nothing more than an aryan skinhead.

I saw Iron Man 3 and I thought it was awful. Really really bad. I think they went in to this thing too smug and made a half baked dud. I was very dissapointed. And I love IM 1-2 and read the books back in the day...the villians were the real issue...just totally lame.

It seems they're going for a mix of realistic bordering comic-book, like all superhero films today try and do. But after the CGI nonsense of Lizard, maybe they're trying to root the villains as human as they can, bar whatever happens to Electro!

Oh, got a couple new pics of 'Man Of Steel' our way too...

I've made my disappointments with TASM fairly clear, so I have no problems with you expressing your opinions ;). I just have this really bad feeling that they are going all Spiderman 3 on us and this is only the second film.

That's what I am afraid of kind of..... I mean they are having the Rhino, Electro and they need to wrap up this whole Norman Osbourne/ who was The Lizard talking to at the end of the movie.

And I respect that you like Tobey Maguire better, heck I loved the first two spiderman films with Tobey Maguire.

That possible 'X-Men' and 'Avengers' cross-over sounds interesting... although will Quicksilver feature in the 70s time line? If so that would have to add on 40 years to get to the Avengers....unless time travel comes into it!

Quicksilver is Megneto's son so I think he'll be a young guy living in the present. Day's Of Future Past takes place in both the 70's I believe and present day. Certainly interesting if The Avengers finally gets an XMen.
