Ya it appears Quicksilver is cast too. LINK AND SOURCE
and there was a pic Singer tweeted of him and Peter Dinklage. LINK TO PIC
There is also speculation about who Dinklage is playing... Could be interesting.

(I know that...just playing dumb!)
Lots of talk on the web regarding an X-Men / Avengers cross-over with the 'Days Of Future Past' team as well. I think that would be pretty amazing to see.
I know, I was going along with the joke.

It seems Peter Dinklage's character has been revealed. Came across some PICS of THOR 2 HERE.

Some fresh on-set pictures of the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, in the upcoming 'Captain America 2'. Sounds like a modern day 'Demolition Man' - 2 older generation of heroes, one now a villain, thawed out in modern day society and forced to do battle...

Hmm.. interesting I am very excited for this superhero movie though I love Captain America.

Looks very similar to this.

Yeah - the face mask is so subtle yet a favourite for super-villains! 'Captain America' is my favourite Avenger so hope this will be as enjoyable as the first, although that worked so well being a period piece too.

^ Same I love Captain America!

Another international WOLVERINE trailer: http://blogs.indiewi...ootage-20130612
And despite my initial disappointment... this new trailer really excites me. Maybe I´ll have to eat my hat and this film turns out to be lots of fun!

I'm actually more excited for THE WOLVERINE then I am MAN OF STEEL.
Posted 13 June 2013 - 07:08 AM
Goodness me! I'm afaid I'm totally opposite - 'The Wolverine' is doing nothing for me. Granted, it looks better than 'X-Men Origins', but there's just not enough about that character that draws me back to him. I think I've just had my fill of old mutton chops now.

Finally someone who is on the same page as me!

But that comes to no surprise as you have blatantly bashed the character and his films...
Posted 13 June 2013 - 02:50 PM
Mmmm, no, I like Wolverine himself in the X-Men trilogy of films, I thought he worked perfectly in that ensemble and bounced off the other X-Men really well.
It was just Origins that really put me off, and 'The Wolverine' idea itself. I am just not a fan of his stand-alone view as I don't see anything appealing. It's probably wrong to judge it all of the back of 'Origins' but it was enough.
I'm looking forward to seeing him back with the team for 'Days Of Future Past' though.
Posted 13 June 2013 - 03:06 PM
Still doesn't the change the fact you have bashed him in past, especially if it was because of one film.
Posted 13 June 2013 - 03:28 PM
True - I did bash, and bash again I will until I am proven wrong on DVD. Same thing with SpiderMan. I bashed him after one film and will do so until proven wrong...
...but I will never be brutal with my bashing with Superheroes as they're a very unique breed and cater to many different fans and tastes.

I hold two superheroes very close to me. Frank Castle/The Punisher and Wolverine. I've been waiting for a while to see the Japan saga brought to life and looks incredible, and releasing it on my birthday is just the cherry on top. It looks better than most of the superhero films out now. All of Marvel's Phase films have been major disappointments (save 2008's Iron Man). The Dark Knight Rises was a terrible afterthought to what could have been a great superhero trilogy and possibly one of the greatest trilogy's ever. The Amazing Spider-Man was terrible and boring, and it's sequel looks to be heading the Spider-Man 3 route already.
The Wolverine already looks to be one of the better ones of the genre and I'm sure it'll be better than Iron Man 3 which I absolutely hated

Now I'm with you on The Punisher. I loved both those films and would love to see more of him but fear he's too adult for mainstream, big blockbuster comic book adaptations, which is a shame.
I agree actually that this Japanese angle could save Wolverine as I believe this is a big factor in his comic book world so that will probably be a far more faithful adaptation for his fans than another botched "origin" story linking the X-Men films.
Posted 13 June 2013 - 06:00 PM
That's just it, all modern comic book films are essentially becoming the same, and it's irritating. Frank Castle is a flawed man who vows vengeance and Punishment on those against the law and the symbol he bears on his chest is a great one. I'd love to see another adaption of the character, even if it meant it being PG-13, he stands out the most. There's so many different angles you could do with him. It would be great for the genre, a break from all the Marvel Phase films and Whatever crap Warner Bros. and Nolan pump out. It would truly be an ordinary man in a flawed, dangerous world and his mission to fix it because of something tragic that had happened to him. I could go on and on with where to take the character, to the point where I'd just write it haha.
The Japanese Saga is what needs to be done, and it's the right time for it, especially before Days Of Future Past. It's after The Last Stand, and it's not another origin story. It's Logan trying to fit back in this world and feel accepted, though there's that one part of him that's still missing. The Origins film could have been better, but I've begun to slowly accept it again.

I disagree with you completely, I don't find superheroes to be all the same. I mean the Batman movies are much darker while the Marvel movies are more unrealistic and have a lot of action. I think the Wolverine movie looks decent but it's not a movie I am looking forward to.

Just cause they look different doesn't mean they are different...

Let's see if Superman wows audiences today/ this weekend and defy a portion of the critics. As we've seen, if audiences want it, they'll pay for it, like 'The Da Vinci Code' grossed loads of money despite mixed reviews and it was dubbed the start of the critic-proof movie.
Posted 14 June 2013 - 08:12 AM
One should always remember how often critics failed to recognize what a movie achieves, only pointing to things they, the critics, would have done differently.
Remember a little movie like 2001... oh, how the critics hated that during its initial release. BLADE RUNNER was ridiculed. And of course, DR.NO would have received a mixed reaction on RT at best. The list is endless.
I´m not saying, by the way, that MAN OF STEEL is like one of those masterpieces.
I might still hate it.
But let´s just put things in perspective. Especially critics and their zeitgeist-y taste.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
I think they estimated that Man of Steel would make 70 mil to 100 mil opening weekend.

Most of Marvel's Phase Films may look different in terms of style, but they still have silliness in them and the over the top-ness to go with. Not that hard to notice.
And the estimates for the Box office mean nothing. It's a superhero film, of course it's going to make that...

The Dark Knight Rises ruined TDK trilogy. Batman Begins is one of my top superhero movies and The Dark Knight is great even if it starts to go too far. Spiderman 1 and Spiderman 2 are the only good Spideys. SM3 is awful and TASM (while the cast is great) is just downright boring. I agree that TASM2 seems to be going the SM3 route and not even waiting for the third film. I really wish we'd get another Punisher, but I don't think it will happen any time soon. TDKR and SM3 both killed what could have been truly epic trilogies, but as it stands, the 2 greatest trilogies of all-time are the Original Star Wars trilogy and Toy Story.
