THX for the link TCR. I might not have noticed Jean if you hadn't pointed it out,.. very interesting.
That looks great imo, I'm looking forward to it and what a tease with the Silver Samurai.

Hmm.
Neither the IRON MAN 3 trailer nor the WOLVERINE trailer do it for me.
IRON MAN, actually, never really worked for me so well, since Downey jr. quickly wears out his welcome with his fast-talking wise ass persona, and the suit makes him unbeatable, no matter what - so where´s the drama in that?
The WOLVERINE has the same problem. In the X-Men movies, used sparingly, he was an interesting flavor to the general mutant situation. Stand-alone, it´s always the same, and since he cannot die, it´s the same as with Iron Man´s suit. Yes, they obviously try to introduce a possibility in the new movie that he can be hurt. But, of course, that will not really be a threat to him.
Also, all the fighting feels so exhausting... (insert best Silva expression here). But really, what´s the fun in watching people bash, claw, shoot, stab each other if it goes on for ages and they can never be really hurt? What´s at stake there? Nothing. It´s just a video game, nothing more, going through the motions.
Maybe I´m too old for that S*** now, have seen too much of it already.
Still, looking forward to MAN OF STEEL, however. And before you can say: But Superman is invincible, too... Yeah, he is. But you really get more drama out of him, the double persona, his need to belong with humanity. I don´t know, somehow the fantasy element of Superman works better for me than the "gritty realism" IRON MAN and WOLVERINE are striving for.

I grow up with the first XMen films and I liked Iron Man and not so much the sequel, I didn't really care for The Avengers all that much but because I've invested already so much into these characters I'll probably see the new films, even though I'm a little disappointed be these The Wolverine trailers. Its starting to look more like Xmen Origins Wolverine meets Batmen Begins.
Posted 28 March 2013 - 08:20 AM
Oh dear.
There is NOTHING that looks different, new, fresh or interesting about this film. Just lots of what we've seen before - Wolverine with an anger issue suffering from hurt/loss and can't find his place in the world. I never knew his character would be so lost over these films.
And the CGI just looks ridiculous. At least in the X-Men films their universe and context is was granted with their specal powers, but having fights on bullet trains? Even Mission Impossible made it look better and that was in the 90s.
This did nothing for me, and I don't expect it to when it's out in cinemas. Can't we let sleeping Wolverine's lie now?
Posted 28 March 2013 - 08:43 AM
Believe it or not, Wolverine is the biggest draw as far as X-Men go, the film will do great and 'Days Of Future Past' will do great as well.
Posted 28 March 2013 - 02:30 PM
I reckon this 'Wolverine' won't do as good as people think. It doesn't look...I don't know, it just looks very samey to what we've seen arleady.
'Days Of Future Past' I think will remind us that X-Men belongs to more characters than just Wolverine. I'm hoping...!

I guess James Mangold was a really bad choice for this. Darren Aronofsky would have given the film an interesting texture and stark visuals. But the trailer looks like run-of-the-mill recycled moments from previous comic book films.
Pity for Jackman who is a fantastic and versatile actor, too often saddled with mediocre directors. I guess it was another case of "nobody else wanted to do this film, we only have a short window to still do it, alright get the studio-friendly hack in".
Posted 28 March 2013 - 03:30 PM
I agree. I do like Hugh Jackman, it's not him I have the issue with. It's just the constant use of Wolverine, it's getting so thin. We'll see if it passes the £373m of 'Origins'. It it does, it wont be by much.
Makes me miss the X-Men trilogy (yes, 'The Last Stand' included!) for real comic-book X-Men antics with him actually doing something useful in a team. Let's hope he's back to that in 'DOFP'.
Posted 28 March 2013 - 07:09 PM
I have high hopes for DOFP and believe it will fix things in The Last Stand which will leave it open for a X4, and if they do 4 they'll probably do X5. I always thought the sequel to First Class would have been simply called Second Class and Third Class because they envisioned it as a new trilogy, anyway I'm looking forward to the loads more films we'll be getting and if that means we'll have to wait and sit through some solo pictures as they figure things out with the up coming films that's cool too. I would have to say that over all when it comes to the Marvel films the Xman films are at the top of my list.

Indeed, and as I said in another thread, it seems that this may be a modern superhero film where we don't know EVERY little moment and big sequence before we actually see it unfold on the big screen which is a great thing and adds to the excitement of the cinema.
The marketing is quiet for 'Man Of Steel' and the TV spot doesn't show anything too new, but hopefully it will gradually build without revealing every top moment but generate lots of excitement.

I guess the marketing will escalate during the next weeks. They just want IRON MAN 3 out of the way to really start.

Ahh yes, the other metallic hero of the summer.

Apart from the stupid, Gustav Graves-y looking armor (Terence Stamp didn't need no stinking armor man!!), man this new General Zod looks totally badass to me!!

Efficiently scary.
Really hoping for a magnificent film. Superman has been absent for much too long IMO.
Posted 15 April 2013 - 09:34 PM
Odd at first, but a few more screenings just made it chilling, like something The Joker would so in 'The Dark Knight'. That menacing Nolan touch!
I would LOVE that to just appear on TV as a spot, it's so brilliant.
Can't wait for the rumoured next trailer for it soon this week also, if true...!

The final trailer for 'Man Of Steel' and THIS thing gave me a shiver. It looks stunning and beautiful and I really believe this will be the film that brings Superman back to life!
Henry Cavill seems perfect, and hope it continues during the final film. General Zod appears, briefly, but feel he's going to be a dangerous villain. Love the support from Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Amy Adams.

I am actually kind of digging the look for Electro.
Regarding the new trailer for 'Man Of Steel', Anticipation Level - 0
The thing is, why an origin story. Superman, like Batman, is a story we all know. I haven't been impressed or wow'd by posters, tv spots, trailers, anything. It's disappointing because I always love this character a lot. As a massive fan of Snyder, I still feel inclined to see it, however, I just don't feel anything for this already.
Posted 18 April 2013 - 04:25 AM
Looks mighty fine. They really held out for this trailer didn't they, and its pretty moving too imo. I take it that is the new Superman theme, different then what I was expecting but still seems well done.
