Amanda Waller is really the only character that needs to be cast. I think Viola Davis would be perfect.

In the wake of the huge Bond 24 news, or rather, Spectre, there's more news in the film industry announced today.

After years of development, it's finally happening. A live-action Deadpool film arrives February 12th, 2016

As well as the official confirmation of Benedict Cumberbatch playing Doctor Stephen Strange in Marvel's Doctor Strange which is out November 4th, 2016.

Also, Krysten Ritter has been tipped to play Jessica Jones for Marvel's Netflix series of the same name.

So in the last week or so we've had Jurassic World, Pan, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Spectre, Terminator: Genisys, Deadpool, Jessica Jones, and now Doctor Strange. Talk about a crazy week for film and comic fans alike!

Interesting and fairly exciting notes. It sounds as if this may actually retroactively improve Man of Steel by showing that Superman was very much an inexperienced 'hero' at that point, who hadn't learned his responsibilities to the public yet. My biggest complaint about Man of Steel (which prevents me from really enjoying it) was the destruction-in-Metropolis scene- Superman should do anything to prevent loss of innocent lives, not put them in harms way. It will be interesting to re-evaluate Man of Steel after BvS. The 'errors' Superman made in Man of Steel may actually end up being a strength of the film if we can see how he's matured into a hero in the following years.

Many of the problems I had with Man of Steel. I'm hoping BvS will improve on the film, but with Christopher Nolan producing and Zack Snyder again directing, I'm expecting more of the joyless tone we got in TDK trilogy and MoS.

In Marvel news, it appears that a deal has been set for Spiderman to appear in Avengers: Infinity War.

Sounds like a one-sided deal, rather than dual effort.

True, but at least both sides recognize that this is what the fans ultimately wanted.

Good.  After five terrible Spider-Man films, it'll be good to see someone else take their shot at finally giving Spider-Man a decent film.

I still see everything going in Sony's favor, no matter what Marvel and Feige come up with.

My guess is that Marvel kept pressing Sony on this until Sony caved. I think its pretty evident that Spidey will make his MCU debut in Cap 3 as he is an important part of the Civil War storyline.

They almost certainly are.

If the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man films had been all that successful, I don't think that we'd be seeing Sony working with Marvel in the first place.

Sinister Six still in development? It would be best for that to be cancelled. Two timelines running against each other is messy.

I think it'll end up being cancelled, or at the very least significantly overhauled.  The article states that they've pushed it back from its November 2016 release date into, at the very least, sometime in 2017 (probably later) while they figure out what to do with it.

EEDIT:  According to Variety, Sony is still moving forward with Sinister Six and a Venom spin-off, as well as a  female-centric Spider-Man film.  The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been cancelled by the studio and the new Spider-Man will be of high-school age, meaning that Andrew Garfield will not be returning to play the character.

So Marve/Sony will have a new Spider-Man debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, yet continue working on the films from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise? I just don't see the point of this at all. Instead of going forward, they're going backwards. Then again we're talking about Pascal and Sony who wanted to do Spider-Man vs. The Amazing Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield and said it would equal 2 billion in profits.

Netflix's new Daredevil series has a trailer out.  Not that it's a particularly high bar to clear, but it looks much better than the Daredvil film we got a while back.

^ Really looking forward to this. While I feel the Affleck film has an unfair reputation (the director's cut is leaps and bounds better than the theatrical release), I think the show will be a better representation of the character. Charlie Cox looks great as Matt Murdock and it's cool that we'll finally see DD's first outfit on screen.

The worst part about the original Daredevil film was that it pretty much marked the end of Jennifer Garner's action career.  After playing the part of Elektra, the only thing we've really seen her do in the action genre was The Kingdom.  Outside of that, it's just been one rom-com after another, which has been disappointing.  I would love to see her give it one more go in an action film, as I thought she was outstanding on Alias and even did a good job in Daredevil and Elektra, even though the material was poor.

Agreed. Alias was must-see TV for my father and I and I thought she was a good Elektra. Here's hoping she's got one more meaty action role left in her.

I'm hoping for that as well.

It's a shame that her career and the Brosnan Era just managed to miss overlapping each other, as I think that she would have made a tremendous Bond girl at that point.

ComingSoon has another article about Spider-Man appearing to be headed back to high-school.  The article cites Variety in saying that Dylan O'Brien (The Maze Runner) and Logan Lerman (Noah) are under consideration for the part.

Who will play the new Spider-Man?

I remember Logan Lerman being in the running before The Amazing Spiderman was released. However, Im sick of seeing the same story over and over and over again. Im all for Spiderman (hes my favorite superhero) but does it always need to br the same. Why does Peter Parker still have to be in high school? Andrew Garfield was 30 when TAS released. At the very least, have him in college. Although, Id be all for Donald Glover playing the Miles Morales Spiderman in the MCU. Let Peter Parker rest for awhile.

Just because Parker's in high school doesn't mean that it has to be the same story again. I can't imagine that Marvel will go the origin route, especially when Spider-Man's first appearance won't even be in his own film.

I'm with you on that. In fact, I feel I've had my fill of Peter Parker. I would actually like to see them then go the Miles Morales route, and if they got Donald Glover, then I'd be on board. Only problem is he's 31...
