Adam McKay In Talks To Direct ANT-MAN!
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/67519

Hopefully he gets the gig, as Ruben Fleischer is also up for it, but has also been approached to direct Ghostbusters 3, which he'd be perfect for based on his work on Zombieland.

Saw X-Men: Days of Future Past the other day. Very good. Last two have probably been the best.

Just saw X-Men again. I can't believe you (above poster) and I are still the only ones to see it here on CBn. I think it's great and am dying to read what others on here think of it.

I know ! It seems like the box office is falling for summer movies when you look at X-Men and Spiderman. Everything is front loaded and i'm not sure i see anything going over $300 million this year.

unless Transformers does really well, which after the last one it certainly shouldn't.

Without wishing any film to fail at the B.O. I think it would be about time to get the studios to stop thinking "Hey, we´ll just use the same elements that worked over and over again" and to invest in original ideas again.

i think that's what hurt the last two Spider-Man films. they just did a trilogy, now here they come rebooting it again. that's why i have my doubts about the enthusiasm for Superman vs. Batman or whatever it's called.

Batman v Superman is really the only upcoming superhero film that I have any interest in.  The whole Marvel thing feels rather exhausted at this point, especially given that I can't really call myself a fan of any of their franchises outside of Iron Man.  I might give The Avengers: Age of Ultron a shot, if only because it can only be better than The Avengers, but there's nothing really exciting on the superhero front coming in the next year or so.

It appears that, yes, Sony has in fact all but killed Spiderman.

Oh sad day. I mean unlike you, I actually enjoy the reboots for many different reasons. I don't think they are as terrible as you are describing them to be. I mean AS2 did have a lot going on, but underneath that there were a lot of parts that just worked. Andrew Garfield is a better Spiderman than Tobey was (please don't hate me) I mean maybe they should try and lower the budget. The movie still made 700 some million dollars which is actually a lot.

I don't think that this is the end of Sony's Spider-Man franchise.  It'll probably mean another reboot, however, as I think that they're probably done with the direction that Marc Webb has taken the franchise.  I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they rebooted it with Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man, which probably isn't a bad idea as we've now gotten five underwhelming films in a row featuring Peter Parker.

Disappointed that there's no mention of a Batman solo film.  I've got next to no interest in any of the projects that are listed there, with the exception of Batman v. Superman.  Hopefully they'll announce a Batman solo film soon and are only delaying the announcement of it while they negotiate with Ben Affleck to direct it.

Yeah I noticed that too.. I mean it looks like there will be a Shazam film which is interesting because he isn't as well known. Also Green Lantern/Flash team up movie? That's going to be interesting. Also Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Sandman. I mean it's an interesting line up I want it to be confirmed though at comic con before I look forward to anything.

You beat me to it!! ^

That's interesting to me as he doesn't look anything like how I figured Aquaman would look. Why are they trying to cram all of these characters into one movie.

DC is trying to cram everything in the batman/superman movie to complete with Marvel but they like 10 years behind and they really could use a better director to make DC comic movie good. Should really bring back Nolan for JL

I can't agree with bringing back Nolan for Justice League.  That would be just as bad, although for different reasons, than Snyder's take on it will be, if not possibly even worse, as Nolan's style of filmmaking in this genre just wouldn't work with Justice League.  His style works, arguably, for Batman, because Batman is not a superhero, but it wouldn't work for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, and so on.  We've already seen that it doesn't work with Superman, as he was very much involved in the making of Man of Steel.

The sad thing is, they've got a brilliant director already involved in this DC Universe in the form of Ben Affleck.  I'd be much more interested in all of this if he were going to be directing some of these films in addition to starring them.

I've seen the new X men film too.

I saw X-Men: DOFP the night before it opened and can't wait to see it again.  The "Time in a Bottle" sequence was the best I've seen in a super-hero movie.  It leveraged Logan's character development from The Wolverine and Brian Singer brilliantly undid the damage done by X-Men 3.  The time travel explanation made sense within the mutant universe, and did a good job of balancing development of multiple characters.  The flashbacks through Logan's loves and life really underscored how much this man has grown since meeting Professor X, even after living hundreds of years.  While not without it's faults, that's how to make an X-Men movie, with character and humor and only utilizing SFX when needed (I'm looking at you, Spiderman).  And stay until the very end of the credits for a peak at Apocalypse.

I was reading an X-MEN APOCALYPSE rumor that FOX wants Singer out of the directors chair because of his recent allegations.

I got the graphic novel X-Men Days Of Future Past and am looking forward to reading it after I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire graphic novel.
