I really have changed my view about 'Gotham' after this - it looks wonderful, akin to the Nolan world of Batman.

I was worried it'd be a "cool, young, sexy" show, like 'Smallville', which I know was loved by some, but I didn't like the tone of it and didn't watch much of it. But this does look really gritty and full of great potential, and nice to see Bruce Wayne will be kept as a boy so we don't have lots of nods (OTT ones) to Batman himself.

It's interesting how much older the villains will be to Batman / Bruce Wayne, so our caped crusader is quite young in the scheme of things.

It'll also be nice to see the Wayne murder explored with Gordon and Wayne's meeting, as we've only been teased with seconds in flashback over films.

Looking forward to this after the trailer indeed...!

Amazing Spiderman 2 B/B-

I saw the Amazing Spiderman 2 today. My verdict: WAY TOO MUCH STUFF. However, the movie itself I thought was well made. I don't like that they included so much. Electro, Green Goblin and Rhino were the main villains. I loved the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. They are great on screen together. That's definitely one plus about this movie. I also liked the humor in this movie. I think it really makes the movie light and less dark. I like superhero movies that aren't dark. It's nice to be able to laugh and have a good time watching a superhero movie. What I am not sure about.. Dane DeHane. I am not saying he is a bad actor but I am not sure that I liked him as the Green Goblin. He seems very preppy boy to me. I mean James Franco was preppy too, but I really liked how Franco portrayed the Green Goblin better than DeHane. Although he really wasn't all that bad.

All in all I think that everyone should go see it, it's not as bad as everyone is saying and it's no way nearly as bad as Spiderman 3 was.

Don't let that sway you from not going and seeing this movie.

Personally, I rank TASM2 right up there with Spiderman 3 for it's mistakes. I agree though, there is way too much stuff going on in this film. It has ZERO focus whatsoever, and only seems interested in setting up future films. Electro isn't even the main focus despite being billed as the main villain. DeHaan, who admittedly is a fantastic actor, never seems to fit for Harry Osborn. Not enough time is devoted to the friendship/rivalry of Peter and Harry. With Raimi's films, we got 3 movies to build it up. Harry's scenes in Spiderman 3 were even great. In this film, he comes off as more of a creepy jerk. Also, you mean to tell me that with everything going on in this film, the 3 unnecessary minutes given to Rhino, Marc Webb thought including Woodley's scenes as Mary Jane were too much? Ugh, I really think Sony need to evaluate what they have in Spidey and go back to the drawing board. Maybe Spidey needs to take a break for a bit. 5 films in 12 years is a bit much.

I guess to each their own. I think that TASM2 is not like Spiderman 3. Yes, it does have way too much going on. What they should have done is keep Harry Osborne but not have him become the Green Goblin with all the focus going on Electro. That would have made for a much better movie. This movie had a lot going on but I feel like the film making itself was actually not too bad.

I also really enjoyed the humor in this movie! Andrew Garfield is more Spiderman to me than Tobey Maguire was.

I'm very interested in 'Gotham' now after the trailer, I think it could be brilliant.

AND they confirm that The Joker will appear in it, in a very clever and faithful incarnation....oooooh, that should be good!

I had the reaction of a lot of people to ASM 2. too much. But also they're skipping through material so quickly. I liked Emma and Andrew, I liked the humor and action in times square, but near the end of the movie they just start throwing stuff together too quickly. Instead of doing it organically to the story it's like "we have to do this, and we have to do that", and it' just too quick. I really don't know why. They could keep making Spiderman movies forever if they do them right. You don't want to run through the material and end up rebooting it AGAIN in 10 years.

I'm unsure about this bat mobile, it kind of looks like the Batman and Robin version meets the Nolan version.

Made me think of the Tumbler straight away just from that - I wonder if they will want to channel more of the Nolan-reality, infused with the comic book fantasy elements. Either way, very teasing!

And it seems 'Days Of Future Past' initial reaction is very positive...

You know, I can't say I hate it because I don't. It's Batman after all and he looks good to me from just this one shot!

Small Bat-ears? Fine. That will be one thing the fans pick on probably.

If anything - it looks like the new suit is vacuum packed around him, with the Superman--esque biceps and moulded muscle, rather than the Bale-era armour suit.

VERY exciting though, makes it that bit more real! :D

Hopefully Wonder Woman soon....!

Gambit has been cast, and the role has evidently been filled by Channing Tatum.

It does look vacuum packed around him, but that's actually more in line with the comics than Nolan's take ever was. Nolan's Batman tended to look like a robot at times and the suit didn't appear to be very nimble (as evident by Batman actually wanting to turn his head). This should be interesting. I'm not really excited about Zack Snyder helming Batman vs. Superman after his mishandling of Man of Steel, but I am warming to Affleck's Batman (this pic helps haha). That said, I am worried that, just like TASM2, Batman vs. Superman appears to be going all Spiderman 3 on us a full film early.

Exactly! I found Man of Steel to be such an overrated piece of junk that I absolutely fear for what Zack Snyder is going to do to the film as a whole.. For starters, is it really going to be about Batman vs Superman?? Why the hell would you have two goodies fighting against each other?

That's one thing I hope changes, that title, or sub-title, or whatever it is....we don't need a 2 hour film with Bats and Supes battling each other (Supes would win anyway without breaking a sweat), and then the final shot is then finally shaking hands or something.

We need the clear show of them both on the same side. And please, no drawn out trust issues, deception etc that is only resolved in the final 5 minutes or something.

Let's start them strong to maintain a valued and very important bond with each other.

We'll see what happens. My guess is it would be about Batman and Superman clashing, whilst trying to defeat a common foe. One thing I do like though is the skipping of a new Batman origin story. Please, enough with the *bleeping* origin stories and reboots. I'm looking at you Spiderman.

Superman vs batman has been done before in comic and batman has won using his knowledge of various martial arts, knowledge, and superman weakness
I presume superman is fighting batman because superman turned bad control by lex luthor or the govt who after batman like the comic "The Dark Knight Returns" My guess the first hour would be fight until batman is able to stop the control. The second half is the two work together against a dangerous enemy take down lex luthor and anyone else involve
Superman realize that he cant stop threat alone so the JL is established where WW and Aquaman would show up to form the team

Early reviews for X-Men: Days of Future Past are excellent. Currently at 94% on RT. That said, only 18 reviews are in and I remember at one point seeing the score for The Dark Knight Rises at 96% with roughly the same number of reviews counted. That film ended up being an absolute train wreck. Here's hoping DOFP can actually live up to and even exceed the hype.

Affleck looks fantastic in the new batsuit.  I'm definitely on board with him as Batman.  I'd be even more on board with things if Affleck were directing the picture, as that would almost certainly lead to a better film than what we're sure to get with Snyder at the helm.

I too am excited for 'DOFP' going on current review and word of mouth - sounds like Singer has nailed the core X-Men theme once more and injected a new boost of life into the strong series, and that's saying something for the 7th movie. Excellent. Sorry...X-cellent.

As for Bat-fleck, I too am glad we may be seeing a crime fighter in his prime without the origin story. Does that mean no flashbacks or haunting memories? There is no need really, even for a new actor. We know his backstory and it all leads to where he is now. It's the portrayal of his modern day incarnation we want to see, not the same backstory and origin that can't REALLY be any different from film to film, save a few tweaks here and there.

100% agree on that. Affleck has really found himself in the director's chair. Every film he's directed has been excellent, so it is unfortunate that we're stuck Snyder instead. Here's hoping that maybe Affleck works his way into maybe a producing spot at least.

My main hope at this point, as Snyder already has Batman vs. Superman and Justice League locked up, is that when they get around to making the first standalone Batman film, that Affleck will be tapped to direct that.  He's already had to exit or postpone some interesting directorial projects to take on the role of Batman, so I'd like to see the studio give him the chance to direct one of the Batman films in which he stars.  That would be a win-win for the studio anyway, as he's a great director plus he actually acts better in films he directs.

I'd agree with you there tdalton - overlooking reasons why I'm not a huge Affleck fan, I know his success in some films can't be ignored, so I am open to his skill in any future DC projects involving Batman, and much like Bale did, I hope he will have the chance to craft and develop his character over a good number of films that solidifies his portrayal as Batman and not be another Val Kilmer or George Clooney, coming and going just like that.

If I were at DC, I am sure Affleck would be locked into a multi-picture deal anyway.

I agree that Affleck would be a great director for the Batman franchise. I loved Argo! That was a great movie and he was able to star in it and direct at the same time which I really give him props for.

Ok...he did well in 'GI Joe' but I just wouldn't place him in the X-Men universe....but who am I to judge! Can't be any worse than the 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' interpretation!

Yeah I mean Channing even said he was really interested in the role so maybe he will take the role seriously? I am not sure.. I was a little surprised by the news too.

I see that X-Men Days of Future Past has gotten really good reviews. I might have to go and see it. I have only seen one X-Men film in my life and that was First Class and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

The quality of the X-Men movies has never been particularly high, so I don't see this casting really doing much damage to the brand.  Still, it's somewhat of a head-scratcher when you consider the type of talent that has so far, rather inexplicably, decided to participate in these films.
