it's the back of the DVD, which loses so many frames per second that it makes the film shorter. You wouldn't notice when watching the film. Blu- ray isn't any lower frames from normal cinema release so should be 143 minutes.
Thanks, thought it might be the case. What a relief!

I've just pre-ordered mine finally on Amazon. If I had a region free Blu-ray player I would have definitely gone for the steelbook! The Tawain, Korean, and Japanese steelbooks are all Region A but are ridiculously expensive both to buy and import. If I felt adventurous I guess I could order the UK steel and just switch the discs, then re-sell the Region B discs on eBay or something. Too much time and money though just for a box.
Even though I'm in Canada I made sure to order off Amazon.com as opposed to Amazon.ca as I do with most movies nowadays. I've grown to really hate Canadian DVD packaging in which our laws state that all consumer packaging must contain both English and French. That's fine for the most part but sometimes it really hurts movie packaging, especially from a collector's point of view. Half the time the French logos are as big as the English ones and totally ruin the cover and spines.

Even though I'll be putting the disc into the Bond 50 set, the steel book edition is the version I'll be getting. Looks nice.

I also pre-ordered my steelbox Skyfall this afternoon, it looks to good to ignore.
Here in Holland it's released in march and then you got just a single blu ray (or dvd) in a normal blu ray box and it's more expensive then the English steelbox with blu ray, dvd and a digital copy.
Ofcourse the choice for me, what version to buy, was not that difficult!

Yes, I thought that odd too. But we haven't seen the back yet.
Perhaps M and Mallory.

Great link lechero, thanks!
I'm not afrai to say I actually got goosebumps looking at that first picture, the 'Skyfall' logo over the stunning Scottish moors. How eerie and beautiful is that shot?
I really can't wait to re-live this and own it. So proud to be a Bond fan!

Any word of special packaging of goodies from Target, Walmart, or others that have done this in the past? I appreciated the 2 decks of cards and a chip with my CR DVD.

There's been nothing so far to suggest there will be any deleted scenes.

that is probably the case and very disappointing the 50 anniversary film would have zero deleted scenes like Quantum of Solace
