IMO, that´s the problem with bonus content these days.
When it started to be included on DVDs it was not that much pre-packaged and sanitized yet.
Nowadays it´s almost always just PR filler. And the commentaries, of course, never really can tell you what was going on during the filming because everybody fears lawsuits or bad blood that will prevent them from working again.
So, we´re stuck with anecdotes that don´t hurt anyone, maybe some good director explaining their choices of shots. Do not expect anything else anymore. The bonus content is only a selling point for us nerds who still believe we get a look behind the scenes.
And don´t get me started on the Peter Jackson-documentaries. Just as overlong as his films. And also not really a document of what was going on behind the scenes - only what Mr. Jackson wants you to think what was going on.
The only really good documentary on a DVD can be found for "12 monkeys" - detailing all the problems Terry Gilliam faced. Including Bruce Willis (who is so good in the film) asking typical superstar questions about "the kind of film" they are making.
For me, I am happy if I get a pristine print of the movie itself these days.
Deleted scenes mostly were deleted for a reason and not much noteworthy. And to get educated on the use of green screen, CGI or make-up prosthetics might be interesting the first time around. But these days I skip that gladly.
I agree with much of this. If you like good documentaries, I recommend those on Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood, Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Jaws. Real documentaries that run almost as long as the films themselves, and examine their historical and cultural significance as well as casting and technical aspects.
I also agree with comments Christian Bale made in an interview a while back; that all the "making of" extras on DVDs nowadays remove some of the mystery and magic of filmmaking. I'm certainly not interested in all the ins-and-outs of filming SF - just the superb film itself.

It feels like 'Skyfall' is coming out for the first time again, all this excitement for the Blu-Ray/DVD.
I hope it breaks a few records with sales too, just to add to the plinth of awards and records it has!

It adds that it more than triples the pre-orders for CR and QOS DVDs/Blu-Rays.
Another record broken! The sky is not the limit for Skyfall!

Really? Wow! I am so proud of this film, and the series, it's brilliant!
I can't understand though how much the critics and public have shown their love for Bond and the films with blowing 'Skyfall' out the water with all the box-office takins, pre-orders and awards.... it's over-whelming!
Can't wait to see the sales figures for this monster!

I know I've done nothing but rubbish the artwork, but this makes good use of it and ends up looking rather good. Surprisingly so.

Now that it's been officially released, I can confirm that the launch event I referred to is the naming of an East Coast train after SKYFALL, and an inaugural journey from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh - attended by Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and others. More details below.Hearing rumours of a special SKYFALL DVD launch event in the UK - can't confirm what it will involve or whether it will be public - but keep an eye out!

It's the FoxConnect exclusive Blu-ray. I prefer the inside design on that to the steelbook, with M on it, but then Silva would be missing!

Sorry if anyone's posted this already.
On iTunes, the movie is already available, at least in the US. Log onto iTunes and take a look at it. They have pictures of what the menu will look like and everything. It's only 15 dollars, so if you can't wait the 3 days like me, go ahead and buy it.

Advertising on locomotives is the hip new viral paradigm. They already named one after Bobby Robson, so this is a natural next step.

Yeah I can see the kids going wild for seeing names written on the sides of vehicles. Who wouldn't?
I just wonder why they didn't sponsor an aeroplane? They're much more groovy and international and James Bond. It'd be much more eye-catching to have a plane with 'SKYFAL.... Oh right, I see, yeah.

Speaking of Skyfall vehicles:
SKYFALL Aston Martins Take Manhattan
A fleet of SKYFALL themed Aston Martins will be on hand for New York Fashion Week, providing fans and fashion press with complimentary transportation around Manhattan throughout the event. Wrapped in 007 livery, the cars' on-board entertainment systems will also screen special features from the Blu-ray release of SKYFALL, the most successful British film of all time.
They're Rapides with the lying-down poster on the side of them. Photos on facebook.

I caught a brief glimpse of it. It has Bond sliding into frame and it turns into the cover art.
