Re: Jumping- probably. I can't imagine they'll be changing much of anything from the COD template. If they're even kept to little grey pointer dot complete with distance indicator unchanged, I doubt they'd fiddle with the controls, and I claim bonus points if it's as absolutely pointless in GE as it was in COD.

Do we know if you can play as Bond in MP? I've seen Jaws/Oddjob ect a dozen times, but don't think I've seen Bond yet. Since Nightfire Bond games have developed the bizarre habit of leaving out their man selling point from MP (QOS's wierd experimental modes notwithstanding) and I hope that's not the case here. Classic characters are all well and good, but I don't play the Bond experience to be a Korean midget.

Yup he's there.

I'm still holding out for a classic tux for multiplayer - just for nostalgia's sake - but I reckon it'll just be the bland stealth suit.

It's annoying in past games were they've forced only good guys vs bad guys in multiplayer. I remember one of the EA games as soon as you picked Bond or something from MI6 the other players could only be bad guys in deathmatch. I hope they've learned that forcing arbitrary restrictions on players is not a good idea.

Is it not the Casino Royale Trailer music? It usually is.

Honestly the more I think about it the more I find myself agreeing with you Royale's remix while good is EXTREMLY overplayed I figure a new rendition for bond 23 would be nice... unless the "stealth centric FPS bond game by raven software for 2011" rumors are true then i'd like a new rendition for that as well for the obvious reason the remix in no way shape or form would fit a trailer for a stealth centric bond game.

Filthy habit! That's annoying! And I think they should make Bond in suit, tux and stealth uniform so that more players could play as Bond in the same game.

I think there was an Action Replay code for GoldenEye that allowed that. Or just go the Perfect Dark route and have all the costumes and all the heads available to mix and match as you pleased.

And I agree that Nightfire's Good Vs Bad MP was stupid. The whole point of MP is that it is totally free of story or sense, so Bond can shoot his idiot Bond girls in the face for fun. Trying something like that was stupid.

Are we sure that's Bond in the pic? It probably is, I'm still getting used to Wii graphics. It should have the tux, but considering QOS bizarre descision to only used the T-shirt/ leather jacket costume for Bond MP, who knows...?

I only played QOS on PS2, which has no MP mode. So in the New-Generation console versions QOS multiplayer features Bond?

Yeah it did, but it was kind of meh, and noone really played online. The PS2 version of the game was actually said to have a better single player campaign. I'm getting tired of seeing stuff about the MP to be honest. There's no doubt that it's going to be the best Wii has to offer. I want to see more on the single player game though.

I felt in the PS2 version the story was very cropped and short. The PS3 version featured more levels and excitement!

Righty007 and I were told this while in San Diego. Sad news, but I guess he doesn't really fit the tone of the Craig era.

I'm glad Boris was cut, it means they aren't compromising on the Craig-Era direction for the sake of nostaligia.

And Nicolas, I wouldn't worry too much about QOS. While the 360/PS3 version is the best, it too suffers from a cropped, scatty story, and while it has a level or two the PS2 version doesn't, the PS2 has the Haiti docks level, which isn't in the next-gen game.

Seriously, neither game is a classic and all the major problems, like small, linear levels and one-note gameplay, are present in both versions.

It means they are just further compromising the original game instead. And that is happening far too often with this so called "GoldenEye". Boris, minor character or not, is famously associated with the film and the game. If he cannot be fitted in for some insane reason, don't even bother. Seriously. Just make a brand new game. They're going to a lot of trouble to do so already, anyway. This is not a loving update. This is a re-wiring. Which doesn't remind me much of the original, to be honest.

It's better they cut what doesn't fit that force it in out of slavish adherance to the original. This isn't a 'remake', Activision have said as much. And they should update as much as possible, regardless of how much they cut, because it will make a better game. A full on update of GE will only be inferior and highlight how unbeatable the original is. It's better they rewrite from the ground up to include Craig than awkwardly transplant him into a story for another Bond. It'd be like how Connery looked in the FRWL game fighting robots and blazing away at minigun-wielding mutants.

Look at this game as doing for the original what Casino Royale did for the film series. Taking everything that worked and made it great at the very core, scrapping absolutely everything else, and reworking the whole thing with modern advances in mind. You can't equal GoldenEye by attacking it head on, it's too great. This way the new game is not only a modern game rather than a 'classic' piece, but genuinely offers something the original doesn't. It also looks completely suited to Craig, which Blood Stone certainly doesn't.

There's a whole bunch of new shots in this months EDGE. Nothing wildly different from what we've seen, but still.

The article seems rather down on the game (and very pro-Blood Stone), bemoaning the descision to replace Brosnan and saying the game is very COD. The only new tidbit I recall is that the jungle no longer features Natalya.

More interestingly, the official site has just been update with new artwork for the cradle and Zukovski's club and viewable models of some of the guns. It's worth a look, not least for the nostalgia-inspiring proximity mines.

The only reason Boris doesn't fit is because they've changed so much.

The only reason they've changed so much is IT'S A DANIEL CRAIG GAME. Which means it's part of a whole different era and a whole different world. Rather than simply paste a new actors face on, bang out a crappy photocopy game and rely on the name to sucker in buyers (like EA did with FRWL, which lost them the license), Eurocom are actually embracing what they have and going to lengths to do it justice. There's enough GoldenEye in here to justify the name and enough new material to justify making a second version.

It's far better than the game just being a bunch of wink-wink references to the fans, and far more faithful to the original for having time and imagination lavished on it, which is what makes the original a classic. You can't remake GoldenEye. But taking what made it great into a new generation? Now you're on to something. I applaud Eurocom.

PS- Extra from EDGE. Boris was cut because his role in the original story was Janus's computer specıalıst. In 2010, you wouldn't have just one guy who could work the computers, so the reason he's gone- modernism and common sense. If you have a problem with THAT you should probably go back to shooting giant robot spiders in FRWL.

I personally think that GE game should come out for PS3 and i guess Xbox 360. PS3 got the same motion control called PS MOVE and it works great. I have one at my house. The tracking is so much better than the wii. I think it should be released to other consoles as well and heck maybe 360 Kinect stuff might work with it to. darn you Nintendo!!!!! >.<

You said that right Garth007. It doesn't even need the PSMove if it has a classic controller mode. I'd rather circumcise myself with a can opener than use a motion controller (and a quick jaunt into to horrible QOS Wii confirmed I was right), but since this game is biuild to cater to the console crowd anyway.... ARRRRRGGGHH!

A damn legal document is all that's standing between us and GoldenEye in glorious HD..

The Wii has a ridiculously large install base. Throw in the Nintendo nostalgia factor and Blood Stone coming out for the PS3 and 360 and there's little to no reason to pursue a PS3 / 360 release. That said, it's an option down the road, but they'd have to re-do the entire game for that.

very true, but if it ever did lets say came out for ps3 and 360 it would have better graphics and way more players. what a shame :(

There is, sadly, no chance whatsoever of this getting off the Wii, Nintendo'd legal team will see to that. And there's even less chance of this selling a fraction as many copies as Blood Stone because of it.

The Wii bubble has long since blown over, and Nintendo are feeling the effects of ditching the gamer crowd for the gimmick crowd now the fad is done. It's not sitting high on the sales chart like it once was, and few of it's users are gamers, more (ugh) 'family' types and children, as evidienced by the almost total lack of real games for it, and barely two or three that aren't first party. GoldenEye is obviously going to sell to the starved 'gamer' crowd that own Wiis, but that's a very small percentage of a console that has far from the biggest userbase anymore and has no reputation as a machine for gamers. The only logical reason for Wii exclusivity is Nintendo putting the pressure on.

Overall though, it has worked out for the best, as Activision get to cater to the 'classic' crowd with an FPS based on The Big One, and a more modern next-gen specific game for todays crowd. And it means Wii owners will get a dedicated game rather than a rushed knock-off from the real consoles for once. Also, we get two games.

AND- October 2nd.... T-MINUS ONE MONTH AND COUNTING!

Heh; this is fun- has this posted? I don't know. But the lovely The Incredible Suit got this from David Arnold:

I produced the title song, which is the old Tina Turner song sung by someone else. I’m not sure I’m allowed to say who it was yet so I won’t.

Sounds fun! :)
