Ha! That's a great bit of confirmation. Although I was looking forward to hearing a new song, bringing back the old tune in some capacity is a nice connection to the original film. I'm very interested to find out who that 'someone' else will be...Heh; this is fun- has this posted? I don't know. But the lovely The Incredible Suit got this from David Arnold:
I produced the title song, which is the old Tina Turner song sung by someone else. I’m not sure I’m allowed to say who it was yet so I won’t.
Sounds fun!

I'm mystified as to the title song. These things are usually publicised to death (Joss Stone got a big press reveal, for Gawd sake), so you really have to wonder at such a thing being revealed unofficially so late in the day. I doubt it'll be a name artist for this reason, like with QOS the game. The first I knew of any song being attached was when I played it.

No offense, Matt, but I would think by now you would realize that they're using the "Casino Royale" trailer music in all the promo videos for this game and move on.I spent the first half of the video thinking "Oh, they've finally learned how to use different music."
Nevermind.

The single player intrigues me and I'd like to see another area played out in single player, just to get a feel if the levels are as flexible as the developers claim they are, or if they're overly scripted like the part of the Dam that was shown.

With regards to linearity, I don't think the Dam we saw was too restrictive considering it was a tutorial level. As for the rest of the game... The days of Bond games having any kind of freedom to them are long past, Mightfire rang the last few drops out it. Also, it's based heavily on COD, which is entirely linear. On the other hand, it's trying hard to be GoldenEye 64, which had a lot of freedom to it that they might pick up on. And the only Bond games to not be borderline rail shooters were TWINE and Nightfire, also from Eurocom...

That's another thing that annoyed me. FRWL and QOS were borderline rail shooters as you say. You couldn't move "free" and explore the map like in GE64 and other games.

The article is quite worthless, but the first video shows quite a few new areas.

Either that's a live action Daniel Craig (Well at least that's what I'm hoping for anyway), or those are really good graphics...

Absolutely staggering singleplayer footage of Siberia here. Jesus....
Eurocom is a top notch developer. Nightfire still has some very good graphics and it looks great in HD (thanks to the progressive scan). There's no reason why GE shouldn't have matched that standard and from the looks of things it has. Also good to hear that the Wii Pointer works very well. That's what I'll be using.

Not going in to door in the Dam, but choosing to slip through a vent undetected and sneaking through... THAT'S what I'm talking about! Not sure how I feel about the CoD grey dot objective marker... we'll see.
The snow effects... amazing! Not bad by next gen standards. Special mention must also be made of the music after the GoldenEye strike... marvellous.
I think we may have something special here. I just pray I don't have any nasty surprises when I finally get it home like with QOS. It's been a good 8 years since a satisfactory Bond game...

Also can't help but wonder how they'll deal with the original's odd "nine years later" descision. It was far too much to be credible, and since they establish the EMP-proof chopper in the Dam sequence they're obviously shirinking the timeframe, or Orumov and Trevelyan really aren't in a hurry with the whole plan.
What? I find it interesting. Oh, and thanks for the catch Matt_13!

He looks a LOT like the character in the game. They've clearly used the faces of the whole cast (look at the new picture of Kirsty Mitchell on GoldenEye's IMDB page) even when they're not names. This is a fantastic descision, and a big step towards games being taken seriously as an artistic medium and not just something reserved for big name stars to make a buck off a license.

Ok, so there is a new Multi-player video online. Big long demo. Looks fun.

One problem. WTF was that "Facility" level????? WHY call it Facility? WTF? WTF?
There was no bathroom. At all. I don't understand. Look, I understand they don't have the rights to certain things.
But QOS had a Facility knock off that was pretty damn accurate:
Why couldn't they just reuse that? WTF?

- It probably IS the facility, as it appears in the new GE, just modified for MP.
- GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Perfect Dark Zero, Quantum of Solace.... do we really need to go there a fifth time?
- Who's to say there won't be another great level, or something else from the original 'mimmicked' like QOS did?
- Who gives a

I've been very impressed with the single player. It seems like it truly captures the feel of GE64 and updates it.
But they could've at least had a bathroom. Maybe they do and the guys just didn't go into it.
