Trevelyan is definitely in the game, you can see his name in one of the multiplayer videos and the interview posted above even states that he's in it.
The guy in the game is not alec trevelyan, it's jack trevelyan.

It's Alec Trevelyan. It says so in the game. I dunno where you got the name 'Jack' from.

Well, the character name on the game play clearly says 'Alec Trevelyan', and M clearly says 'Alec Trevelyan'. I tend to believe that more, over something that's quite clearly a spelling error.

Did we ever find out what Adam Croasdell had done for the Bond games - did he do this or did he do Bloodstone?

I assumed Ben Cooke did the mo-cap since he's the game's stunt coordinator but I guess that's false.

Adam Croasdell did the motion capture work for Bond on Blood Stone.

Well obviously, this is GoldenEye 2010. Because the original came out in 1995, this is a re-imagining of that game. So for this version we wanted to update all the locations so they wouldn’t look out of place in a Bond film today, by giving them a dark, gritty feel. If you take Severnaya in the original game, there was lots of outpost buildings and we thought, ‘how cool would it be if this time, the whole facility was inside a mountain?’ So you have to now make your way to the mountain, then throughout the facility.
Yeah it’s still Trevelyan and Ourumov, so it’s the same cast that was in the original film and game so we’ve stayed true to what the fans will remember.

Okay, several thoughts here ...
GoldenEye on N64 gave me many many many many many SPLENDID hours.
An upgraded remake of this game, with snazzier graphics, modern edges and upgraded music by David Arnold is one of those dreams that you aren't consciously aware of, but if you get them, you are like "Oh - my - GOD!"
Unfortunately, this looks thoroughly as if the atmosphere of the original was lost. Totally. They wanted to live up to expectations, and provide the gamers with a familiar feeling?
Well, mission failed then.
As others pointed out, why bother getting the license if you're not gonna use it fully?
You wanted to recreate and upgrade GoldenEye 64?! You wanted to completely REMAKE it. And you made the same mistake like the people who remake classic movies: you wanted to reinvent the wheel. Not possible.
The interview provided one page earlier reeks of false excuses. This quote:Well obviously, this is GoldenEye 2010. Because the original came out in 1995, this is a re-imagining of that game. So for this version we wanted to update all the locations so they wouldn’t look out of place in a Bond film today, by giving them a dark, gritty feel. Excuse me, but what kind of pretentious BS is this? If you want to modernise the game, do so and SAY so! Save for cell phones, cars and Daniel Craig, there is nothing in GoldenEye that would look outdated. This is bloody 1995 we're talking about, it's not like you're remaking freaking Dr. No!
They took setpieces that fans loved, and took them apart and made them strange enough to not feel the same.
Hell, there are parts of GoldenEye that look as gritty as Craig's films.Yeah it’s still Trevelyan and Ourumov, so it’s the same cast that was in the original film and game so we’ve stayed true to what the fans will remember.
Fans remember Ouromov and Trevelyan? Wrong! What they do remember is Sean Bean and Gottfried John.
006 NEEDS Sean Bean's face. Ouromov NEEDS Gottfried John's face. For players who love the original, these irrelevant faces take you right out of the atmosphere.
Fans remember the solemn feeling you had in the Severnaya level, biting your teeth if an enemy would turn up over the next hill. All funky tricks and explosions don't make up for that.
If you want to explore new areas of the movie and show them, fine. But why does Zukovski's club have to be in Barcelona? What the hell? Barcelona is SO not GoldenEye's tone.
These are all completely random choices, made "because it's cool".

They are not remaking the Goldeneye Game, they are remaking the movie. They do not have the rights to the original game.
