Goldeneye Looks good but so does bloodstone.

I'm not sure it does. BLOOD STONE appears to be a bit of a snoozefest. A dull story matched none-too-interesting gameplay.BLOOD STONE looks superior to GOLDENEYE in every way.
GOLDENEYE might be a rehash, but if nothing else, it looks like it will be fun to play.

Not sure how you're able to judge the story as "dull" given what little has been put out there so far. For me, it's like 1983 here. You've got Blood stone, a new, exciting adventure, and then the you've got Never say Goldeneye again, a remake that's come about because of a loophole in the rights and seems like some fun nostalgia, but doesn't look like it's doing anything particularly new.
I'm getting them both, but one is more interesting than the other.

Fair point, but let's face it, the track record for original Bond stories for video games isn't exactly stellar. My main issue is that the game doesn't appear particularly inventive, or even very well-rendered. Admittedly we only have a few samples, but I'd hope for more than what we're seeing from BLOOD STONE so far.Not sure how you're able to judge the story as "dull" given what little has been put out there so far.

Ah, Dubai replaces Monaco. Cool idea. Finally Bond goes to Dubai.A fine interview, even if it doesn't tell us too much more. I'm sure it'll be a great game. Interesting that Dubai will be featuring in the game, wasn't that going to be a location in Brosnan's sequel to EoN?

Granted, it might be a fun game, but it won't sell that many copies. If it was on 360/PS3 then it probably would.

No 006? Weird. After reading several interviews i am straight up pissed off about this game. First off there is no 006, it's some other random British guy?!?!?! Ok, did i miss something here? 006 was basically the main character in the movie and the n64 game, so how exactly is this going to work? Great job activision, way to ruin yet another bond game. So what is going to happen? will there be a showdown or something or something that didn't even happen in the movie??? This was what i was afraid of, if there is so many issues and legal issues don't even bother making the game because it will not make sense to anyone nor will it relate well to the movie, it will just be confusing, as of right now you are not making goldeneye no matter what you put in it, if 006 is gone stop making it right now.

Are people really going to get annoyed that a Bond computer game doesn't follow every line of the films they stem from?
On the one hand, the many changes they're apparently making with the original game/movie's storyline are perhaps the only aspect of the project that I find to be worthwhile. But, I do think that if they're going to remake GOLDENEYE, that they should at the very least include the game's original villain. Not having 006 in the film changes almost the entire dynamic of the film/game.

I think it's more that it isn't including elements of the original game that people liked. Isn't the promise here that this is a bigger and better version of GoldenEye N64?Are people really going to get annoyed that a Bond computer game doesn't follow every line of the films they stem from?
Conceptually this game is baffling. But I guess gameplay is all that matters. It will be judged on that.

I'm still wondering when they are going to bring out a multi-player version of the old Spectrum A VIEW TO A KILL game!!

Oh! Thanks Matt_13. Got wound up for nothing.Trevelyan is definitely in the game, you can see his name in one of the multiplayer videos and the interview posted above even states that he's in it.

I have a feeling that GoldenEye 2010 will flop big time. They really shouldn't have made this as a Wii Exclusive. What where they thinking!?
Activision may not have had a choice. The legal rights to the Goldeneye game were split between several parties, and there was an attempt to get the original on Xbox Live a while back, but it didn't happen. Could be that Nintendo were the ones holding out, and basically said "It's Nintendo exclusive or you don't get to make it", hence we get it on Wii and DS.
Of course it could also be a timed exclusive, where Activision aren't allowed to say for a couple of months that it's going to be available for 360/PS3. It is noteworthy that shooters in general don't sell very well on the Wii. I'm sure they'd love to put the game out for the two more shooter-friendly systems.

A look at the Dam level, looks very good for a Wii title, Arnold's score has echoes of Quantum of Solace in it
This game's beginning to seduce me, even when it betrays many aspects of the film/game settings.

Not too sure about that. The visuals and the gameplay look as dreary, depressing and uninspired as possible for a Bond game.
At least BLOOD STONE has some colour, proper close quarter combat, in third person format, and isn't scored by David Arnold!

Why not just shoot Trevelyan?

Why not just shoot Trevelyan?
You know, they could have rewritten the story so that he turns out to be not such a bad guy after all. And now you've shot him, Jim. Good job. Shoot the hostage.
Seriously though, I wonder what the motivation will be. Obviously the whole Cossack story isn't gonna fly in 2010.

Since they are using the MI6 interface design from Quantum of Solace, maybe they will tie in Alec and Ourumov to Quantum somehow.

However, I have a few questions that haven't been answered yet about this new Goldeneye:
Will they not try to mimic or update the old "watch as pause screen" and the health bars?
Are we going to get to see file folders or something in the same vein for the menu screens?
How many missions?
Most importantly, and something that I'm surprised nobody (to my knowledge) has asked Activision yet: is there going to be dual wield??
Dual wielding is a big part of Goldeneye and something many people remember fondly. However, it hasn't been very prevalent in the COD age
and so far it appears to be absent from this game. That would be a shame.
