Aren't tracks usually available for download before as CD releases? I'd guess it'll be on iTunes on Sept 29th too (only a guess, mind).

I don't remember that happening with "You Know My Name", but that's probably not the greatest example to follow. To be frank, I have absolutely idea whether they'll put it on iTunes on 9/29 or 10/28. I'm just going by what I've read on the boards. October 28 for the CD and September 29 for the vinyl.

I certainly hope the digital release will be the 29th. It makes sense to me that they would release a legitimate digital copy to battle pirated LP singles.

So is it just me who thinks it's similar to TMWTGG, or at least more similar to TMWTGG than to any other Bond song?

*Frankie Howerd voice* Oh, please yourselves!

I actually mentioned this on the previous page. Those descending strings and horns are very TMWTGG!

Wonder if DA will use it in film score just like he did with YKMN in CR

Just compared it to the Coca Cola ad. The ad definitely sounds a lot more heavilly orchestrated, and I suppose this 'll be the case for the song that 'll end up in the film titles.

That probably depends on how early he had access to it. If he didnt hear it till after he'd started scoring he couldnt use it could he?

Just a thought.. that voice we heard on the clip, I seriously doubt that its part of the actuall song.. Any thoughts? :(

Indeed, I believe it to be someone from the website that leak the clip.

The music is great, the voices are horrible. Though this is a duet, when they sing at the same time it isn't together like a duet should be. It's like they both are so focused on getting their voices heard, it is like they are shouting over each other. I will reserve my final verdict till I hear it in full and "officially." But I can say this...If Amy Winehouse was serious when she stated she was going to release her version then I am all for it, I would like to have heard what she would have done. She certainly has the voice for it. I am not a big fan of Winehouse, and I was very excited for White and Keys, but when Winehouse is on top of her game she has a pretty decent voice and so I would like to see what she came up with.

5th listen now. Really dig the verses, but the chorus is a little weaker than I’d like it to be. Feels like Keys ain’t really belting to her full potential. Or maybe a higher register is what I'm wishing for?

Still :(

For your eyes only, can see me through the night
For your eyes only, I never need to hide
You can see so much in me, so much in me that's new
I never felt until I looked at you 'The man with the golden gun'...

Yes, the song sounds a little bit like 'FYEO' and 'TMWTGG'
The songs starts almost like 'FYEO' and the 'bluesy' part of the song sounds a little like 'TMWTGG'...

I think the song builds up; the Coke clip would be from near the end and I'm guessing the trumpets, strings etc. are added as the song continues.

I would assume it was simply a voiceover from the Spanish radio station, or whatever, that broadcast the clip.

Indeed, I believe it to be someone from the website that leak the clip.

It's an announcer of the radio station, saying the name of the show "Siglo 21" (21st century, 21 in Spanish = veintiuno) and the name of the station "Radio 3" (Tres). Its's as simple as that.

Several listens now with better sound quality at home. Not that impressed.

Aspects of it have grown on me. The tune isn't that terrible, I think there's a good song in there somewhere. But the vocals just feel atrocious to me. When the two of them are singing together, it's just...bad. My ear can't tell if they're even singing in the same key. I'd love to hear this with Alicia singing the entire thing. By herself.

Kind of disappointed. I really, really wanted to like this - and everything we've heard up to this point led me to believe I would. It just doesn't do it for me.

When I heard the Coke Ad, I thought "that's underwhelming, hope the real thing is better." Now I've heard the real thing, the Coke Ad seems leagues better and actually kind of catchy. This sample just doesn't have any unity to it, the chorus is short and never really picks up - and my lord, these two singing together - just brutal.

I'm the type, though, who will probably have the song grow on me. And god I hope it does, because I can't say I'm a fan after the initial listens. I'd love to see it against the titles, though...oh wait, I will:).

Apparently I can’t say it enough

DO NOT ASK FOR LINKS TO THE SONG VIA PM OR ANY OTHER WAY.

DO NOT POST LINKS TO THE SONG.

I hate doing it, but accounts are being suspended. Can we just have at least one film that this site doesn’t hear from lawyers, please? Please?

It's strange that a certain other bond forum seems to be managing fine.

But either way, did any lawyers get in contact about YKMN last year?

As for "what I heard": it may not be a great song, but it's sure stuck in my head pretty well. Doesn't suck.

It sounds so...cheap, to me. Like garage band cheap. And I'll be damned if I can understand a word of it when the two of them are singing together.

The sound the Memphis Horns have going is pretty cool, though!

Not YKMN specically, but we did here about a similar item and it wasn’t until a month on or so. It’s not fun.

Is it possible this isn't a leak, but actually the first radio broadcast of the song?

That's what I'm thinking/hoping at the moment. The film version of YKMN was quite superior in my eyes (ears?) because of different orchestration, I'd love it if this was an early version of the tune. But I just don't see how orchestrating it any differently would change my opinions of it.

I wonder if they'd consider a version where Mr. White is edited out of the chorus.

Generally speaking I don't think that James Bond themes exist well outwith their titles. Granted LALD, GF and DAF do well once removed from their original context, thanks largely to the merits of their respective artists, however most of the themes sound out of place in lieu of their titles. What is a Moonraker in the context of the Shirley Bassey song?!

I beleive that YKMN was sped up and additional orchestration was included in the final cut and so AWTD will probably follow suit and be better for it. Certainly it's different to what we're used to hearing though thankfully we are no longer following the familiar trend of the Bond formula. Therefore I will reserve judgement until I see it with the titles.

Why do you say that? I think that the idea of a "Bond Theme" being a particular genre of music has become massively exaggerated. I mean, technically From Russia With Love by Matt Munro, Die Another Day by Madonna, and You Know My Name by Chris Cornell are all "Bond Themes". Yet they are about as diverse as they possibly could be. Compared to these, Another Way to Die seems very middle-of-the-road thus far.

I like! hehe. If I had to pick one Bond song past that this evokes it would have to be "Where has everybody gone" from Living Daylights. And a bit like the opening to OHMSS.
