Not sure if this has been posted, but if you click on the link you can see the first official pic of Harrison Ford is custom as Indiana Jones. I haven't been excited for a non Bond film in a long time.

Great pic! That Spielberg guy must know something about photography. :cooltongue:

Clearly, he looks older, but it's still Indy.

Good stuff.

It has been 18 years since The Last Crusade, I think a geekout is perfectly justified.

Besides, I'm sure you got pretty excited seeing the first snaps of Craig as Bond last year.

Yeah, this picture made my day. It's impossible to overstate the effect the IJ series had on my elementary-school brain. I'd say that trilogy and the Bond series were probably the movies most influential on my childhood imaginative landscape, and thus probably my current imaginative landscape as well(there were plenty of other influences of course, but here I'm talking specifically of movies).

But seriously, Harrison looks older but he's still rocking that Fedora. Summer '08 can't get here fast enough. Indiana Jones and James Bond in the same year. Will there ever be a better year for iconic franchise characters?

Brilliant.

2008 is sure turning out to be a year to look forward to - Indy's back, alive and kicking!

A new Bond film at the end of the year as well. My local cinema is sure going to be receiving a load of my hard earned pennies!

Honestly, not really. I was already sold on Craig being Bond, but the first shots of him from the Madagascar scenes, looking dusty and beat up, were nothing to get stoked about. I'm going to have to see a lot more than Harrison Ford wearing a hat before I can get even vaguely excited about this.

I know what dinovelvet means. It still looks as I feared - Indy, but too grey and too old.

Its going to take a bloody good trailer to wet my appetite for this. And I absolutely adore the first three films.

Hey, we grew up with Indy and as he has grown up, so have we so it's a nice image to see an older and wiser Indy still looking up for adventure and packing a punch!

At least there's no bad CGI or airbrushing, it's Harrison as we love him and natural Indy!

Can't wait!!

Not sure about it meself...it just seems odd to me that Spielberg and Co. would let something like this slip so easily and so soon.

What slip? They are building a set on a studio lot. That's what it looks like when you make a movie. And something of this scale takes time. You can't just throw it up the night before shooting. And you can't hide it. All you can do is...say it's for National Treasure 2.

I also think they are maybe trying to shoot Indy 4 all inside the U.S. So far we've heard New Haven CT and New Mexico (at least partially doubling Morocco). If this is true, they have to build a set like this outside. There's not a 007 size soundstage in Hollywood for something like this.

Yeah, it looks like you were right, anyway. I suppose you would know "a bit" more about this sort of thing than I do. I just thought they would have at least tried to make it a bit more well-guarded from the public and more secretive, which, evidently, isn't very easy in this day and age.

Although what you said about there being no 007 Stage in Hollywood for a set this big...didn't they film one or two of the Indy flicks in UK studios?

Time for me to eat crow. Someone in the know told me last night that this set IS for National Treasure 2. :cooltongue:

But I'm still suspicious. :D
