Who knows? Looks cool enough. This is pretty interesting. I took the Universal tour on Sat. and saw this set. I think it could very well be for Indy.

I edited my post too late, it seems.Read the article. It's an update.
It certainly fits with what we know of INDY IV.having seen it in person, this set is HUGE and clearly for something very special.

Read the article, dinovelvet. It's challenging the NT2 explanation.I happened to be on the Universal tour myself two weeks ago. We passed a set they said was for National Treasure 2...and it looked nothing like that picture AFAIK.
Two weeks ago the set might have looked different as it appears it is still being built (which really challenges the NT2 theory which, according to TMZ, is wrapping this week). The set is also hard to see. Most of what you see is the back of the set. But when you head into (or maybe out of) that rolling Mummy thingy you can look through the trees and see the inside. That pic is pretty much what you see.

A film that's been in the works for twenty-odd years, that, due to three of the most powerful figures in Hollywood, is more closely guarded than the JFK assassination...and the first week of shooting, the set is easily accessible to the public? Dunno, just seems a bit...off. Clumsy, even.
And I agree with 0024's notion about Connery's apparent non-involvement; it may just be wishful thinking on my part, but I'm sure the press release that Connery made was just a way to throw people off.

What slip? They are building a set on a studio lot. That's what it looks like when you make a movie. And something of this scale takes time. You can't just throw it up the night before shooting. And you can't hide it. All you can do is...say it's for National Treasure 2.Not sure about it meself...it just seems odd to me that Spielberg and Co. would let something like this slip so easily and so soon.
I also think they are maybe trying to shoot Indy 4 all inside the U.S. So far we've heard New Haven CT and New Mexico (at least partially doubling Morocco). If this is true, they have to build a set like this outside. There's not a 007 size soundstage in Hollywood for something like this.

Update: Those National Treasure 2 set photos have been removed from Filmpub at the request of Indy 4 production company Paramount Pictures. Our own contact at Paramount was unable to comment.
Hmmm...so Paramount doesn't want set pics from a Disney film online. That makes sense...in only one way.

Yeah, it looks like you were right, anyway. I suppose you would know "a bit" more about this sort of thing than I do. I just thought they would have at least tried to make it a bit more well-guarded from the public and more secretive, which, evidently, isn't very easy in this day and age. What slip? They are building a set on a studio lot. That's what it looks like when you make a movie. And something of this scale takes time. You can't just throw it up the night before shooting. Although what you said about there being no 007 Stage in Hollywood for a set this big...didn't they film one or two of the Indy flicks in UK studios?

I had dismissed the set after it was "confirmed" to be a set for Nation Treason 2 but now that Disney is denying it's their's and Paramount requesting the photos be taken down sure does tip the favor back to it being a set for Indy 4. What else could it be?
The Mummy 3 is set in China and studio work is being done in Canada but if they did have one set back at Universal it would have surely been mentioned as it's a Universal franchise.
The only thing Paramount could be hiding is a set for Indy 4. Because it sure as hell ain't a set for another Dirk Pitt film. On second thought maybe they're bringing back "Relic Hunter" as a film series.
I also invite all of you Indy fans over to TheForce.net's Indy board. The mod over there is a real nice guy.

He looks great. It's Indy, just a bit older.
BTW, theraider.net has a mega high res version of this image:

I think Eon should take notes on how the Indy website is operating. Day 1 of shooting we get a video clip. Day 2 we get a pic of our hero in costume (and fans sites are sent high res versions). It's up to the minute. Also, releasing this pic now puts the kybosh on the paparazzi hunt for the first pic of Ford in costume.

Yeah... and the thing really making him seem older is just the hair color. If they'd died it, he'd been looking even younger. He looks great. It's Indy, just a bit older.

Of course. LAST CRUSADE was in 1939, and INDY IV is set in 1957. You need to show signs of aging.I think he should keep the grey hair though. It will reinforce the idea that 19 years have passed since Last Crusade, not only for us but in Indy's life as well. The character will be 58 in this movie, after all.
I'm not suggesting that they dye his hair...I'm just pointing out what great shape he's in, so much so that you could dye his hair and he'd look ready to roll for a film that was set much earlier than 1957.

I suppose so. To be fair, I don't imagine they'll keep it up! And the first day of Casino shooting would have been Craig in his mucky t-shirt, so not exactly as iconic a look as this pic!
