It doesn't fit the central story as far as we know it, so I'm 99% sure that's not the right title. My guess is it's going to be Quest for the Covenant. I look at that title and I just see the mind of Lucas there. And I do like it.

I don't know about that. Covenant -- father, son, and the Holy Marion? It doesn't fit the central story as far as we know it, so I'm 99% sure that's not the right title. My guess is it's going to be Quest for the Covenant. I look at that title and I just see the mind of Lucas there. And I do like it.

It's a bit of a fluff piece, really. But worth a look:

Old news I'm afraid.
Accordingly an argument that it fits an Indiana Jones film exquisitely well.

Bah! At least it's got a bit of romance about it. The others are all so dreary and unengaging. That list has too many Last Crusades and not enough Temple of Dooms. There's just no sparkle about them. Though I guess five of them are red-herrings. No point having a good fake title; people might actually want it.

Why are you so sure it's not "...Lost City of Gold" ? A poster on another board I visit has heard rumors that that is indeed the title of the film.

It's B.S. Not only is the Lost City of Gold the focus of NATIONAL TREASURE 2, it's also the focus of ALLAN QUARTERMAIN AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD. Are they really going to do a rip-off like that (especially since Indy is a character inspired by Quartermain)? Doubt it.Why are you so sure it's not "...Lost City of Gold" ? Furthermore, it has nothing to do with the story as we know it.

The aforementioned Allan Quatermain - H Rider Haggard's incredible creation - portrayed by, say, Dennis Quaid or Kevin Costner or [insert slightly faded swarthy adventurer type in here]
And my favourite also-ran, Romancing The Stone and The Jewel Of The Nile (I really like the story of this sequel and the set-up - real series character development if rather ineptly handled). Anyway, how about:
Vince Vaughn as Jack Colton
Jennifer Anniston as Joan Wilder
in
The Sapphire Of The Seas
A Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-ish tale of daring-do.

I've always thought Timothy Dalton (yeah, I know) would have been really good as Allan Quatermain. Maybe if the BBC did a faithful adaptation of the books, or something? The aforementioned Allan Quatermain - H Rider Haggard's incredible creation - portrayed by, say, Dennis Quaid or Kevin Costner or [insert slightly faded swarthy adventurer type in here]
To date, Cedric Hardwicke's really the only one who's played the role properly.

Yes it did. It was shot back-to-back with KING SOLOMON'S MINES (1985) and died a fast death at the box office.

Kind of cool. Not sure how I feel about it. My first instinct is that it is a bit disappointing, but you never know.
I love me some Henry Jones, Jr.

Sounds like someone trying too hard to come up with an Indiana Jones title.
I'm sure I'll get used to it.
