The title is pure pulp, which is why I dig it.
Yeah, I know what you mean...

Don't mind it, though.

Oooh, the crystal skull one please.
Cant say I agree with you freemo, it sounds too clunky.
Bah! At least it's got a bit of romance about it. The others are all so dreary and unengaging. That list has too many Last Crusades and not enough Temple of Dooms. There's just no sparkle about them. Though I guess five of them are red-herrings. No point having a good fake title; people might actually want it.
Oh yeah!
Great title. Love it.
Also, am I the only one who thinks the "Connery won't be in Indy IV" statement was just a dodge, and that he will in fact be making an appearance? I'm thinking a crowd-pleasing suprise cameo, one scene, probably a death bed scene where he and Indy have a father-son moment. Based on what he always says about working on TLC, I can't believe that he wouldn't come over for one week to shoot a cameo.

We have a title, ladies and gentlemen. It was announced by LeBeouf at the MTV movie awards:
INDIANA JONES
AND THE
KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL
Great! This was the title i was rooting for.

I was expecting City of Gods. You know what? Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is much better. It sounds like a real Indiana Jones ride. It is original and inventive. It also reaks coolness.

It has all the "classic words". It has Kingdom, an oldish type of word that refers to an ancient civilisation of some sort, it has "Crystal" which sounds rather exotic, and it has "Skull" which is rather grizly. All elements of a good Indy title, even if it could be a bit long, which I dont think matters.

'Kingdom of the Skull' would have been enough.

We'll certainly see a few interesting international versions of that title.

It sounds like it got ripped off of a pulp novel or movie serial poster. I hope the accompanying poster is as pulpy as the title is.I like it. Pretty classic title, IMO.
Well, I know that the film and the Darabont script share a lot of details and differ in a lot of details. From what it seems, this current version of the film is an adjusted version of Darabont's script, but the relic is the same. The appearance of Marion also came from Darabont's draft. So, on AICN, Moriarty seems to think this sounds like it could be following that Frank Darabont script from a while back...Harms, whatcha know about that?

Not really a fan of the new title. Doesn't really roll off the tongue and is too long. I may just have to abbreviate it to Indiana Jones and the KoCs
Try not to say that out loud

No, you're not. Also, am I the only one who thinks the "Connery won't be in Indy IV" statement was just a dodge, and that he will in fact be making an appearance?
I've been thinking this ever since the "announcement" he made to the press. Knowing Spielberg, I think he'd get Connery to do a small five-minute scene, since, as he's said, this film is for the fans.
And that's a great title. Pulpy, schlocky, 40's adventure flick title. Perfect.

It's possible. Connery's comments to the INDY IV group seemed out-of-character cheery, so perhaps it was a red herring after all. But at this point, I'm not really going to go on it. If there's a Connery cameo, it'll be an interesting surprise, but I'm not seeing any evidence to believe that Connery would come back after all.No, you're not. Also, am I the only one who thinks the "Connery won't be in Indy IV" statement was just a dodge, and that he will in fact be making an appearance?

Especially since the part of Henry Jones, Sr. was never more than a cameo, and producer McCallum was quite sad that Connery wouldn't come in even to do his brief little scene.
Indeed. We have RAIDERS, TEMPLE, CRUSADE, and now KINGDOM. And of the titles, I think this evokes the pulp origins of Indiana Jones the most. And that's a great title. Pulpy, schlocky, 40's adventure flick title. Perfect.
