The man seems to love his Omegas. Haven't seen him without an Omega since his Bond announcement photo shoot. Well, either he loves them, or gets them gratis from Omega in exchange for him wearing it in his daily life. I don't know how that works.Looks like the PO will be in the bulk of the film even in the new quad poster hes sporting a PO and in reg life he always wheres the PO crazy huh ?

But...for those of you who may be interested and haven't seen this watch yet, here it is. Once again, limited to 10,007 pieces world-wide. Once again featuring Omega's proprietary Co-Axial technology, once again featuring the 007 logo as the counter-weight on the second hand so that every minute, it spells the word "LOO" to the untrained eye.
Please excuse the amateur style of my photgraphy, but I had to be quick before the murderous henchmen (management) came back from a coffee break.
This new Seamaster Ltd Ed has such a glossy black dial that the limitations of my camera, my photo skills, and an overdose of overhead lighting meant that this was as good as the pictures were gonna be.

And it's ready for its close-up, Mr De Mille.

Here's how it looks from the case-back end.

And here's the clasp, once again with the 007 gun logo as seen on previous Limited Editions.

And there you have it. Just a little something to keep us going before the next round of "What watch is DC wearing in QoS?" discussions.
Thanks, all.

Thanks, VM. I agree that it's less than satisfying to see "Omega in QoS" come up on "Today's Posts" w/ something less than new information (or at least a new angle). But you've certainly added value here.I really didn't want to bump this thread back up since it seems to have run its course....
Since my BaselWorld Post on CBn and "James Bond 007 Collector's Piece" Blog with reference numbers, I've also seen now field shots supposedly of the non-Limited version of this watch, both with and without the wave pattern. Early in Quantum of Solace production, of course, there were the so-called (self-proclaimed) experts w/ "inside" information telling us we could take it to the bank w/ absolute certainty that Mr. Craig would be wearing a black, black Omega Seamaster this time around. Alas, those claims seem to have dried up and blown away with the sands.
Speaking of which, I had the opportunity this past weekend to see both lobby posters and the current trailer for Quantum of Solace when my son and I went to the theatre for The Dark Night. Irrespective of folks' "definitive" ID on the poster wristwatch as a 42mm Omega Planet Ocean (reference 2201.50), I was personally struck by how crudely it was presented. If someone were looking for a way to emphasize the challenges of this watch in terms of business suit wear, they've certainly found it here.
Disclaimer: As the famous Sean Connery w/ air pistol images remind us, posters and stills often have little relation to actual film content, of course. And it's even possible the wristwatch in this poster was added by photo-electronic means.

i too saw the QoS poster when i saw the Dark Knight this weekend. this is the first time i saw the poster up close and in person (not through the internet pics). The PO stands out by far and is easily identified. I was wearing my PO 42mm (2201.50.00) and showed my wife and said look, I have the same watch that Bond wears! She subsequently rolled her eyes!
To me at least, it seems as though Omega (and whoever orchestrated the pic) wanted to prominently display the watch on his wrist, because NONE of the watch is even close to being hidden by his cuff whatsoever...ah, product placement, gotta love it.
Dell, are you certain that he is wearing the 42mm (2201.50.00) and not the 45.5?

Also, everything is exatly the same minus the red 007 on the ticker hand and the black dial has the traditional wave pattern. Looks rather sweet!
I was so used to the traditional blue but this black dial loks infinitely better in every way. Good move by omega.

Both beautiful watches & if money isn't an issue, it comes down to personal perference. If you want the one worn in the movie, the PO is the safe bet. Personally, I like the look of the new black 300 M but, then again, I own the blue version so I may be biased.Ok, I have the choice to buy the PO that craig wears for QOS or the non limited edition seamaster 300m, I don't know which one to get. I'm thinking of getting the PO because that looks to be the only watch craig will wear for the movie.

I have the P.O. the Craig wears in QOS (provided its the 42mm 2201.50.00). I love it and get many compliments. I actually bought the PO a year ago on my honeymoon after seeing Casino Royale. In my humble opinion, I like the PO better b/c it's styling ques are a throw-back to vintage Omegas (thinner bezel and broad arrow hands). either way, they both look sweeeet!!! good luck & happy shopping! -chuckBoth beautiful watches & if money isn't an issue, it comes down to personal perference. Attaboy, Chuck! The 42mm model rocks and will become the classic version in the years to come, as far as I'm concerned. I too have the 2201.50 and it's one of my favorite watches and gets a lot of wrist time.
I hope DC will be wearing the same model in "QoS", but it's no big deal if he isn't.
Time will tell (no pun intended).

I'm having a hard time because the pictures i took are too large to post. I need to fiddle around so i can get them right...i could always email them to you if youd likeThanks. I've bought the 45mm PO. I should be getting it on Tuesday. My wrists are of average size but after test-wearing it and with the clothes I wear, it looks and feels awesome. I had some links taken out so it sits on my wrist and isn't moving.
p.s. Chuck, are you able to post any pics of your po?

Historically, Omega SA has been concerned about diluting its Olympic investment w/ a Bond watch focus. So, utter silence since their last "official" word of any kind related to 007 on March 12.
However, in discussion w/ my magazine contacts, November issues are in the works now and will be put to bed this month. Some are approaching Omega SA now for information; others are content to let the "news" pass if they don't receive something pro-actively.
Whatever the case, every day that passes now quite literally relegates to a lower visibility any promotional investment Omega may have made into James Bond. And what is "bigger news" in this concurrent w/ the release of Quantum of Solace is not quite news at all after the fact.
Translation: Omega will make its official announcement some time this month.
Your wait is almost over--.

"Official" word through Omega field representatives remains inconsistent. So, again, I'd urge a bit of caution when relying upon so-called claims of insider information when it comes to the final word on identification. At this point, remember, actually serves to sell ambiguity a greater variety of watches to the anxious.

Dell, do you think this is why I still receive a '2007' Omega catalog when I request one from their website? My last request was about 2 months ago (and I specified for a 2008 catalog), and to my surprise I got a 2007.

I bought the black 45mm PO. You can't go wrong with that. It's a piece of engineerin beauty plus it's the watch Bond now wears.
Agreed. I have the 42mm PO (black/black on stainless 2201.50.00) and I LOVE IT! Plus as I said before, it has that "retro" look, what with the thin bezel and broad arrow hands. The thing has so much luminescence that it could double as a night light (ok, a little exaggerated but it glows brighter and longer than my brothers Rolex Explorer 2). When I saw 'The Dark Knight' in the theater, it glowed the entire time. I've had mine for 13 months now, and the Co-Axial movement keeps near perfect time (it gained 1 minute over the course of one month. I set 8/1, and by 8/31 it was just 55 seconds faster than my atomic clock. Way within the limits of COSC specs). The new black/black SMP is also a hot looking watch, and by no way am I knocking it. It all comes down to personal preference. Good Luck in your endeavor!

To the best of my knowledge, there's never been an official claim that any Seamaster whatsoever will appear in Quantum of Solace.is that new black Seamaster going to be in Quantum of solace i saw it at the jewelers shop the other day and it looked pretty nice, i wonder how they are going to place both of the watches in the movie
The Omega Seamaster 212304120 01 001, announced this past March, has carefully been called "The James Bond 007 Collector's Piece." [link] Nothing more.
Further, although the exact model number continues to remain in question [link], the only watch we've seen in stills and video from Quantum of Solace production efforts so far has been the Omega Planet Ocean. I've seen "mark my word" "guarantees" in more than one other Forum that it will be the 42mm case; it's worth noting, however, that these were the same folks who were claiming earlier this year that we'd "for certain" be seeing a black/black Seamaster on Bond's wrist this time.
In the end, such speculation ultimately boils down to "guess enough and your bound to have a 'prediction' turn out 'right' when the time comes." But to me, that's hardly insider information, and disrespects folks who'd like to get the correct watch model for their investment (of several thousand dollars, which is what we're talking about here).
Again -- back in March I surveyed watch experts through a leading Omega Forum about what turned out to be actual, leaked images of the Seamaster 212304120 01 001, and 49% were sure it was a fake. That's 6% more than were sure it was real. [link]
It's not going to make much difference in your ability to access the watch for purchase when we all know for sure. And I promise that I'll Post complete details to my own website as soon as they're out (although I'm avoiding the despirate competition to be first by five minutes this time around!).
Keep up the enthusiasm!
