I especially can't stand how they've put the 007 logo behind all of the titles. I didn't like that when they did it on the posters in the Brosnan era, and I especially don't like it now that they've imposed it on all of the other films.

Agreed. I've never liked that either. I do like how they've gone with the original title logos for each of the films though.

The covers look okay, if unspectacular. Like Problem Eliminator I like the consistent style as opposed to using poster art (because while the older films have great poster art, the poster for the more recent ones are pretty ordinary). I like the "idea" of these covers. But the ones where the image of the Bond actor clearly comes from a different film, am I the only one who finds that really grating, in a "every time I look at them I'll cringe, look to the heavens, and ask 'why?'" kind of way?

The extras sound terrific; I'm getting much more interested in these. A lot of them seem to be the very things that I've heard (read) fans asking for (The 25th Anniveray special, the Incredible World of James Bond special, etc), so they're clearly giving the people what they want. But what's up with the DECLASSIFIED: MI6 VAULT, MISSION CONTROL, MISSION DOSSIER headings? Sounds like the menus are going for that "MI6 file" theme, kind of like the Die Another Day SE DVD.

I honestly do not like the covers. The only one I find somewhat appealing is LALD. The bonus features sound great though. Can someone convert the price of the individual films from Pounds to Dollars?

I can't believe with the revelations of all these great new special features that most of you are carping about the covers. They are actually starting to grow on me. It's what's inside that counts, and that's two DVDs devoted to each of the 20 films with new transfers and tons of other stuff; who has time for covers?

With long lost productions like Welcome To Japan, Mr. Bond and new deleted scenes, I feel like Indiana Jones. Can't wait to find what's on OHMSS and the remaining Moore, Dalton and Brosnan flicks.

To me, the cover artwork of these DVD's is trivial compared to the special feature content. While I'm impressed by some of the things that EON has dug out of their vaults (and also, presumably, out of the hands of some 007 relic collectors), one thing that does not look favorable to me is the fact that while they've managed to convince Roger Moore to record audio commentaries for his seven films, they can't even come up with the means or money to get Connery or Dalton to sit down in front of a damn camera for an interview to just give a few minutes of comments. Connery just finished a James Bond video game - you can't tell me it's too difficult to convince him to spend a few minutes talking about Terence Young or his legacy without prodding him about how Cubby and Harry screwed him over money-wise.

I'm hoping so as well. Just curious, is there any reason to believe that the US covers will be different?

I personally doubt it as the previous UK and US 007 DVDs were pretty much identical with GoldenEye (UK Cover / US Cover) being the only exception.

While I agree with the whole "Don't judge a DVD by its cover" vibe you got going there covers are kind of important to the package. My hatred for DAD only gets fuelled when I see it sticking out like a sore thumb in the same shelf as the Special Editions.

Plus I'd be downright peeved if one DVD cover said "Diamonds Are" as the final release

As a response to whoever said they like the covers as they're consistent for the series as a whole, sorry but i don't like the post-modern computerized covers of any dvd. I very well would love the original covers like DN's three women, FRWL's smug Connery with women and Istanbul in the background for example.

But covers can be customized easily so that's not a problem, after all it is the inside that counts like said.

I couldn't agree more, Turn. Ultimately it's going to be the content of these discs that keep us coming back for more and things are shaping up very well in this dept.

It will be interesting to see what other films will be including deleted scenes etc. These deleted scenes on FYEO came as a plesant suprise for me.

The covers are terrible, same thing happened with the release of the Star Wars trilogy. Though the main effort is going into content, so for that I am very happy.

If the worse comes to the worse, I am sure some custom art will crop up on the net at some point.

The covers are okay. Much better than the last release. I'm just happy they are using the orginal title logo fonts. That's a big deal for me...for some reason.

Thanks, Mr_Wint. Interesting that GOLDENEYE is said to be "uncut". Does this mean that Xenia's headbutting of Natalya has been reinstated in the UK (but do these covers even apply to the UK? I don't see any BBFC certificates on them) and any other country it may have been removed from, or are we going to be treated to a previously-unseen version of the film? Seems curious to trumpet as "uncut" a flick that's only got a second or two of headbutting returned to it (I'm not aware that anything else was taken out) that most people who aren't hardcore Bond fans don't even know was missing in the first place.

Indeed - and does it mean that its only UNCUT in that tiny bits taken out by the censor are included this time.

I mean, OHMSS should have a huge marker on it "YES, THIS IS UNCUT AND INCLUDES EVERY GODDAM SCENE AND WORD WE LEFT OUT IN THE PAST"

Hello, I have a question. I am from Spain and I want to preorder the british ultimate editions, so the question is: Do the Sony DVDs have subtitles in both movie and extras? Thanks.

From Russia With Love looks absolutley brilliant. This batch of covers look like some effort went into them as well.

Still awaiting the DAF cover though... or "DA"

The airbrushing in these photos of Bond on the right is ridiculous. They don't even look real half the time...

Connery on Goldfinger... that just looks crazy...

Yeah, Laz didn't fare too well either.

I'm surprised that FRWL and YOLT still have their "MGM home video" fonts rather than the original poster fonts like the others. In the "full set" picture, it seems that they do have their poster fonts.

Then again, I'm sure this art is subject to change, especially for those of us in Region 1.

What I'm really curious about are the deleted scenes from FYEO, TLD, and GE. Will TND, TWINE, and DAD enjoy the deleted scenes treatment as well (they all have missing filmed material)?
