I'm not sure if they have special features as they were kept behind the counter when I saw them... all prices are in Australian dollars.

A couple of the scenes mentioned..
The red use in the gun barrel scene and then the music titles.
The overuse of blue in the opening fight in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Are these complaints valid?
How does one compare the original theatrical prints with the Ultimtate Edition dvd's?
Hasn't time and age also affected even the prints used in theatrical release?
I would think it would be hard to remember what the films look like after 30+ years...

Why was this changed? Did they overuse the red contrasting?
Overall I feel the films are much more true color and detail than the SE's. The SE color often looked oversaturated at times.
On her Majesty's Secret Service has quite a bit more of a blue tint. I am curious about why there is such a difference.
Does anyone know why these changes were made?
Are these changes? They seem to compare the SE's as the definative versions of the films? What if the SE's are incorrect?
Shouldn't they be comparing the UE's with screens of the actual theatrical films?
Very interesting..

The oversaturated look is part of the original intent on TB and YOLT, and sadly, they mucked it up, especially on YOLT, where you know can see the make up applied to Sean face and not his body (hence painted face, white body, awful looking) in the teaser. In the original film, he looks tanned from head to toe.

The author of one of the posts claims that the films in the UE format have been changed color wise from the theatrical versions.

I guess Lowry / DTS has done a decent job with mastering, but they have had some things they have changed or done wrong as well. This was in some of the later posts on this page..
I still believe these are the best versions of the films ever released. I know that some will feel they are poor releases due to what the consider altering of the original theatrical versions.
Perhaps we will get the original non animorphic mono releases in the future as was done with the Star Wars films?
Just though it was an interesting discussion, well done posts and worthy of posting.

But when I watched the movie I was truely sadden by the added sound effects. Especially during the Capsule In Space opening. Someone actually added sound to the SPECTRE space craft nose cone opening and closing. This is absolutely wrong, the scene works so well with little to no sound which makes the SPECTRE craft more threatening.
I'll stick to my Special Editions. They are at least the originals even if they have their faults as well.
