I just watched the preview and I like it a lot! It's very similar to the preview for the reissue of the 1999 DVDs that's on the Die Another Day DVD but it shows a few before and after pictures of scenes to illustrate the improved picture quality (Oddjob's hat demonstration and the boat explosion from From Russia With Love). Other than that there's not much to it. It says the collection will include all 20 films but hopefully they will include Casino Royale. I don't recommend buying Fun with Dick and Jane soley for the preview (like I did) because it's not worth it unless you like the film (I haven't seen it yet but it looks good).

It won't inlcude CR because the DVDs are supposed to be out this fall.

Did they show packaging or give a better timeframe for release?

It didn't show packaging and gave no indication as to when it will be released. It would make sense to release it in '007 so that it'll include Casino Royale because the last release included all 20.

Like that matters. You don't think they're going to release this collection and then turn around and possibly do another when CR is released or maybe another on Blu-ray? They may make the packaging 'open' so that you can add CR to it when it is released. They did this with The World Is Not Enough I believe.

Besides, they would never show you a trailer in April 2006 for a collection that won't come out.. until .. April/May 2007. It's a waste of advertising.

Could one of our DVD savvy members, possibly incode a video of this? I don't particularly plan on buying the Dick and Jane DVD.

Click HERE and scroll about half way down the page for pics from the trailer.

Also, click HERE and you can see that Play.com (UK) has them available for pre-order for July 16, but who knows if that date is accurate...

'Never-before-seen footage'?

Usually implies behind the scenes footage (in featurettes).

Indeed. The film only came out in 2002. You've hardly been waiting "forever".

OK, OK, this is real swell, that they've made a trailer for the new DVD release and all. Whatever. The question no one has been able to answer thus far, however, is the following: Will these new DVDs contain the original material from the OLD set of DVDs? Or will we have to hang on to the old ones to save the various documentaries and special features??

This sounds cool - but since I'm still one film short on my current Bond DVD collection, I don't think I'll be buying these. Once the next generation DVDs (blue ray or whatever) are out I'll reconsider.

Wow I can't wait for these. I never bought the sets way back when...but I might know what will be on my Christmas list!!! And the inclusion of DTS for every move hands down makes it for me, not even including it's HD.

By all accounts, these will be standard DVDs. The HD/Blu-ray are being rolled out somewhat cautiously as there is still probably some aprehension among consumers about going to a new format so quickly. If it succeeds, it will be a slow rollout, most likely.
