I'm glad to see the official title fonts are back. FRWL, YOLT, LALD and OP (for example) have very special fonts. I didn't like the one on the current dvd's (and VHS).

They should bring in the poster art done by Jeff Marshall. They only miss the Brosnan era, but that will be a nice job for Mr. Marshall right now. The one they show us now are new, but nothing spectacular.

Why Bond has to be dark covered? Now with the Apple-stuff (iPod/eMac) we're ready to see some fresh light/white color covers.

Overall it looks all new. Greatest thing they did is bring back the original fonts. The case is also great, but the cover art so-so...

I agree. Jeff Marshalls artwork is something quite spectacular and should be used in Bond merchandise more often.

Also I'm glad the original fonts are back. The thing is do i still keep my old '007 dvd collection'

I didn't look close enough at that. Great that the original font style is there, definitely!

I dunno. I'll probably upgrade, if only for the Roger Moore commentaries, but at the moment it's all sounding very "Special Edition Version 2.0", as opposed to its Ultimate Edition claim. I was expecting a Quantum leap, but this looks like a mere upgrade (maybe it just seems that way because the Special Editions were so good the first time). Perhaps I was just expecting too much. I need to hear more about what extras will be included.

If I remember right, the three most recent James Bond DVD boxsets had list prices of $124.95 each.

Back in 1999 they were $199.95 each.

40 Discs. Sounds like all the movies are 2 discs. Sweet.

As I had hoped. Now if we could just get some hints as to what else they've added from the last round. But the suspense is kind of fun too, like wondering what's in the presents under the Christmas tree.

Welcome to CBn, Nimsworth.

Actually, that was brought up before. I don't remember what most people think, but my guess is that the picture was not a final shot of the set (even though the real one will be almost identical). By the time it is released, the "Forever" will fit.

It's just kind of an optical illusion. "Forever" can fit.

Not thrilled with the cover art, but at least it's different. Cool stuff all in all.

I wasn't very impressed with it eiter. I'll only be getting just a couple of my favorite films (the 2 Dalton films, OHMSS, FRWL, and FYEO) to be able to see them in a better video format, but other than that, I'll probably stay away from these DVDs.

DVD has come a long way in terms of quality given the latest and greatest compression techniques (MPEG-4). It's gonna be around for quite sometime and I assure you that whatever replaces it won't be Blu-ray or HD DVD.

It will still be DVD, thought... regular DVD will disappear just like black and white TV sets did, all the format will be backward compatible, no discussion. Whoever wins gonna be DVD (and the consumer) what with the higher quality, you can't argue.

You can see pics of the new covers on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co...1758803-6726862).

As you can see on the LALD cover: this is not Moore's hand! Looks more like Dalton's. First error I noticed. Second the FYEO cover: this picture of Moore is not during FYEO, looks more like TSWLM. And TSWLM pic could be at the time of MR...

They'll never learn. Ask the experts before making this covers!

I think Roger's face in FYEO cover looks like Moonraker more than The Spy who loved me :D

Why can't they put the right faces on the covers? It's not so damn hard

Is it just me or does Roger Moore look quite airbrushed in the cover for AVTAK?

More importantly where are the pictures for the Connery Bonds?

Hi guys,

I have to say im really excited by this DVD set. I can't wait to see OHMSS restored and remixed. However am I the only one who is concerned by the lack of extras on these discs. The process in the UK is that all DVD extras need to be submitted to the BBFC for classification. So far, on the BBFC website for these discs there isnt exactly a plethora of extras advertised.

Considering that the discs are due to hit UK shelves in 3 months is there really that much time to get these extras to BBFC for classification and then produce these discs in time for July? Perhaps there is as there is no sign of the Moore commentaries on the BBFC yet and we know they have been completed. I hope im just being cautions here because the more extras on these discs the better!
