Not thrilled with the cover art, but at least it's different. Cool stuff all in all.
Well the DAD artwork shows Brosnan larger than Berry. Obviously a pre-production screwup.

Yea, I'm wondering about the price myself. With that very sleek attache, this thing is gonna cost a bundle. I'll pay it, happily, but I still need to know the dent this'll be making in my wallet.
We're probably talking about $400 for the whole thing (MSRP anyway). It could go as low as 300, but I think a more likely sale price is 350. I think we may get a couple options as well. The whole thing (see picture), broken up per "era" (Connery&Laz - Moore - Dalton & Bros or just randomly selected in boxes), and then obviously by themselves.
I hope I'm overshooting the price here, but I doubt I'm too far off, sadly.

Well the conversion rarely matches up. Just as a comparison you can get the premium Xbox 360 for $399 (US) and

(I wonder if they can fit the word "Forever" onto the DAF box...?)

They should bring in the poster art done by Jeff Marshall. They only miss the Brosnan era, but that will be a nice job for Mr. Marshall right now. The one they show us now are new, but nothing spectacular.
Why Bond has to be dark covered? Now with the Apple-stuff (iPod/eMac) we're ready to see some fresh light/white color covers.
Overall it looks all new. Greatest thing they did is bring back the original fonts. The case is also great, but the cover art so-so...

Though what happened to the gold discs in the clear top tub that we saw many months ago when these were first released? That looked great too.

Looks great.

I believe that was concept art. But this set looks marvelous.

I'm also confused about that "Diamonds are forever" thing...how are they going to fit the title in the case...they just filled it with "Diamonds Are"

That was nothing. It wasn't even concept art. It was some sort of mock up photo someone made. Even those involved in doing these DVDs didn't know what that pic was or where it came from.Looks great.

I'd forgotten about that one!

I still don't own any of the Bond films on DVD so this will be the collection I will buy. I'm glad I held out for so long. Aside for the packaging they sound wonderful with all these new extras and the improved audio quality. I think I'll order it from the American Amazon site. Won't Britain be censoring parts of the films? Who wants to buy the British version when parts of the film are cut out, even if they are only small sections?

also, it looks like the 007 behind the diamonds are forever title is smaller than the one on the other cases.

I'm just glad these DVD's are being released again, as I never realized it was so hard to get the originals once the stock of the old set release ran out, and the price shot up. I'll be glad to pay the retail price to finally have all these videos. An extra windfall is that these will have the qualities improved plus that cool storage case.
Well it depends where you live. There is no guarantee that the area outside of the UK will get the attache case. In fact the previous UK release had special packaging that the US set did not.
Also it is a fact that all the special features on the current releases will be included in the new releases. That has been confirmed.
It is also a fact that the DVD of The Living Daylights will have the 25th Anniversary Special hosted by Roger Moore.

I have the old dvds and will not be forking out hundreds of $'s for these new ones as I am happy with the picture quality on the older films and don't really care for pristine quality. It detracts from the feel of the film.
Not to mention that several years down the track (with the release of Bond 22) there is a strong possibility there will be a new set on Blu-Ray or HD DVD discs.

Well and good you are satisfied with the current DVDS' quality, as I like them as well. But that part about pristine quality...I have the old dvds and will not be forking out hundreds of $'s for these new ones as I am happy with the picture quality on the older films and don't really care for pristine quality. It detracts from the feel of the film.

I doubt I'd reinvest on picture quality and sound alone as I don't have a great TV or playback equipment that would merit just that, but the promise of more features, Roger Moore commentaries AND the pristine picture and sound quality makes this a must buy.

Anyway, as nice as this set looks, i shall do what i did with the metal tin and wait for it to drop in price. Once Casino Royale has been and gone and Bond fever has died down again, i imagine you'll be able to pick this up for half the current asking price.

Many people have asked if this set will include all of the previous special features from the original DVD set, to which a few people answered, "yes." Is that just an assumption or do we know for a fact that this set will include all of the special features from the original set?
I think it's unknown at this time if it will feature "all", but it will for sure feature some according to the BBFC.
Not to mention that several years down the track (with the release of Bond 22) there is a strong possibility there will be a new set on Blu-Ray or HD DVD discs.
Blu-ray, not HD DVD. It'll probably happen this year or perhaps to coincide with CR on DVD, but I wouldn't wait around for this. It's a format war that will hurt both you (the consumer) and the retailers since you'd have to be willing to gamble thousands of dollars on one of these formats that may lose. Sony doesn't have a good track record here. Their most recent format, UMD, just bombed and you shouldn't forget their older failures like MiniDisc among many many others.
Not to mention that Blu-ray and HD DVD aren't that great of a buy unless you have the actual equipment in your home to back it up (widescreen HDTVs etc). DVD has come a long way in terms of quality given the latest and greatest compression techniques (MPEG-4). It's gonna be around for quite sometime and I assure you that whatever replaces it won't be Blu-ray or HD DVD.

I trust there will be a slot in the case for a similarly packaged Casino Royale dvd?

This is what I am wondering. It would be nice if there was a slot for Casino Royale. I'm not overly fussy about having the case though because it's not like they are going to have 5 or 6 slots in anticipation of the next few Bond films. I like to keep the Bond films altogether in my bookcase and in a few years I'll have them out of the attach
