The Next James Bond?

Second of all: Good luck on quitting smoking. My wife has quit three times so far---once for two years!
Daniel Craig is the candidate du jour, but to me he just isn't quite physically right, and not just because he's only 5'9". To me, the bloke is simply too ugly, despite having a great screen presence. It's no more complicated than that.
Personally, my favourite candidate---Owen---is out. My fallback favourite was a member of the Dubious 'Final Four', a young Shakespearean actor named Henry Cavill, who (despite his youth---he's only 22) has acting chops to spare. I'm hoping he will succeed the next fellow...
Which brings me to James Purefoy, who may well be the 'under the radar' dark horse who steals in at the eleventh hour and drives off in his Aston Martin with the prize...

I can see your choices fitting in to what I would consider the "seeding" role of the next 007 generation. Choices I have not considered or even known of until your post. Thanks.
To echo some of the previous posts it will not matter who the next bond is... except I'd like the franchise to continue for...let's say another 50 years.
To go to the theatre...there had better be a baII-buster in this movie.

By the way, has anyone here seen EVELYN? It's a real cracker of a film, and Brosnan gives an amazing performance in it.

As though Ewan McGregor looks a damn thing like James Bond. What's the deal with Pierce Brosnan anyway? Is he a full-time EON-basher now?
I wouldn't say he was a full-time Eon basher. It seems to me he's just voicing his opinion on something he overheard (Eon's dismissal of a competent actor for the role of Bond simply based on height.) I agree with you that Ewan McGregor is not Bond material, but I also agree with Brosnan that Eon shouldn't be so quick to rule out an actor simply because he doesn't tower above everyone else.
I don't think any of us are in complete agreement with the way Eon is handling things... does that make us all Eon bashers?

BUT he looks more like Bond than Daniel Craig, I'll give him that!!! (Then again, I bet half the population does!)

1. Jude Law 47%
2. Ben Affleck 28%
3. Clive Owen 16%
4. Nick (Mr. Jessica Simpson) Lachey 9%
Uhhggg! What an awful poll. Atleast 16% voted for Owen.
Rohan Nichol played Captain Antillies in Revenge of the Sith. Here's a picture of him from the film.

He's fine, but something that impressed me so much is His magnetic glance, something that I expect from Bond. I don't know if he's the right man for the part, but I hope, that, whoever will be the next, he will have this kind of glance.

A friend of mine who works for Sony at L.A. told me that there are good news for me which will be revealed the next days. He told me to open a good bottle of wine to a fresh fish if I am at the croatic coast at the moment!
This guy is not kidding, so I believe him...oh my god, goran is going to get the part!
