I have to vote in regards to Goran being cast as James Bond, 007.

so now I am really excited!!
A friend of mine who works for Sony at L.A. told me that there are good news for me which will be revealed the next days. He told me to open a good bottle of wine to a fresh fish if I am at the croatic coast at the moment!
This guy is not kidding, so I believe him...oh my god, goran is going to get the part!
Eon isn't that stupid, foolish and foolhardy to pick Goran for Bond--sorry but I don't believe your unverified source for a second.

Any way to back that statement up?

Well, I'm convinced. The friendly, anonymous chaps at "Sony at L.A." have never steered me wrong before.

I think the climax is brilliant at the moment is perfect. This whole talking of pierce`s return or the rumour about daniel craig who is filming another movie at the moment ...and then...it is goran visnjic.. the first choice anyway among most of the people at EON and Sony. Now it is clear to me,why goran hurried back to LA in order to finish some ER-episodes and why his wife said some weeks ago that they want to move to rome/italy.
Goran will be Bond-good news for all fans!

The actor is called Jeremy Edwards. He looks like young Bond, is the right height, the right age (34) - with a little voice coaching he could be the man Eon are looking for (if they are still going with the younger Bond storyline).
He's not a major TV star, but is known in the media for roles in BBC drama Holby City, The Afternoon play: 'Girls Weekend', and 2 film roles in EMR and Lost Dogs. He's also guested on many TV panel games and chat shows, and appeared in the BBC's Born and Bred series, playing a builder. In it, he looked very Bondian and possessed a smooth and sexy charm.

Martin Campbell wants an unknown, and Jeremy Edwards may be the man he's looking for. He's youthful, and would grow into the role - instead of growing old in the role. He'd certainly be a more modern looking Bond than Fleming's Bond - he probably could balance the two.

We've also got two "insiders" (one on MI6, one on this site) claiming that Daniel Craig has already been signed for the role. I'm not saying that I believe them, but with three rumors going around that say that Pierce is signed, Daniel Craig is signed, and now that Visnjic is signed, there really isn't any evidence for me to decide if any of them are true.

Hmmm.... but ranking those three rumours in order of likelihood seems pretty easy to me:
MOST LIKELY: Brosnan;
FOLLOWED BY: Visnjic;
LEAST LIKELY (not only on the basis of his looks, which constitute a massive hurdle, but also because of his near-Owenesque level of success and too-big-for-Bondness): Craig.

I doubt that it would be. If they were that impressed with him when he tested, then why did they schedule Daniel Craig, Karl Urban, and (supposedly) others for tests? If they liked him enough to sign him, then why didn't they do it then instead of bringing in more people for tests?
I think that it can be said that the "final four" underwhelmed the producers, which is why we're seeing new screentests this month for the role along with the big rumor going around that Pierce Brosnan is returning.

Of course, since I think he would fit the bill, he will probably be the last person in line for the part.

Just judging by pictures, I wasn't sold on Clive Owen when I first saw him brought up for the role. It took watching the The Hire shorts for me to become an Owen fan, and he became my top pick for the next Bond. I rooted and hoped for Owen as Bond for a year, right up until he signed on to film Shoot 'Em Up in January.
It was similar with Daniel Craig when he was "announced" in April. Just judging by pictures, an immediate No.
When the "final four" was leaked, I figured Ewan Stewart wasn't a real option. Alex O'Lachlan, I don't know. I saw Man-Thing but retained none of it in my memory. I tried to watch the trailer for Oyster Farmer, but couldn't get it to play with sound on my computer. I have no real opinion on O'Lachlan. Henry Cavill, too young. I don't like the idea of Bond being played by a guy who's only 7 months older than me. Watching Hellraiser: Hellworld didn't change my mind on him, because in that movie he just reminded me of Zach "Gremlins" Galligan.
Yeah, my "final four" pick is the controversial Goran Visnjic. I think he has "the look", in some pictures he even reminds me of Sean Connery in the early films. On another board I saw pictures of Connery and Visnjic posted together, Connery's labeled "Bond" and Visnjic's "Not Bond". My reaction was, "They look like they could be the same person on different days..." Visnjic being Croatian isn't an issue for me, the only issue being whether or not he can totally lose his accent and do one more Bondian.
Now things come back to Daniel Craig. Like Owen, I checked out some of his movies, including Layer Cake, and became a fan. (Didn't like LC, but I liked Craig in it.) I'm another that was won over by his acting and screen presence, and became convinced he could pull off being Bond.
Casino Royale looks to be a gritty, more serious, dramatic, relatively faithful (though expanded) adaptation of a novel that includes a harsh torture scene that will have all the men in the audience in pain and a main character that's said to resemble Hoagy Carmichael. The hiring of Paul Haggis, presumably on the basis of serious, gritty and dramatic films Million Dollar Baby and Crash, to polish the script supports the idea that they're going more serious with this one (I almost feel that this could be another Licence To Kill in every way, but maybe I'm overestimating its seriousness). The tone, style, the looks as pointed out by Stax, it all seems to be a perfect fit for Daniel Craig and his career choices. The only thing that doesn't match is Haggis's "28" quote.
The apparent change in tone/style is quite a risk, though, and Craig would make it all the more dangerous. Unless enough of his coolness and presence makes it through in the trailers and TV spots to win over the general audience...
Anyway, to wrap it up - My dream choice was Clive Owen. Of the contenders being talked about now, both my picks are risky. Daniel Craig or Goran Visnjic. On a safer side, if they really want Bond to be 28, I suppose I could give O'Lachlan a chance. Wish I could find something else he acted in, or I might have to break down and watch Man-Thing again.

I think this is the first post I've read by someone who's actually seen O'Lachlan act. Any good? Did you see MAN-THING before you knew he was a Bond contender?

I can't remember. I didn't like the movie and have since forgotten all the details of it, including O'Lachlan's character and performance.
Yeah, I did watch it before I knew he was up for Bond. If I had known, I would've been paying closer attention.

Denials can be as simple as that."I'm not doing Bond," Jackman said backstage, shooting down persistent rumors that he would be the next actor to play the dashing British secret agent.

Karl Urban is not truly a "pretty boy" like some other candidates, no. But the literary Bond is't exactly supposed to be a male supermodel, either. Some of that has to be changed to make the movies popular, I guess, as evidenced by the fact none of the movie Bonds have had a scar on their face like the literary one. But if Eon is going back to the literary roots with a darker Bond, why not choose a Bond with looks to match?
