Hugh Jackman? Hugh Jackman? nawwwwwwwwwh... I'd pick David Niven B4 Hugh Jackman, Colin Farrell um nope, Clive Owen? Well at least he's a contender to kick some Spectre Butt. Jude Law (Great Actor, awesome) but no, not this genre Hugh Grant? (Lou Grant has a better chance. Ewan McGregor, yawn.. Colin Salmon? Hey anybody can get promoted in H.M.S.S I'd vote for him B4 Hugh Jackman! Christian Bale, maybe we'll see. What am I doing here? From this list it's definately Clive cut, print, that's a wrap.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but.... Why the hell doesn't EON grab Gerard Butler and make him Bond #6? He's completely available and wants the role badly. He's the perfect combination of a rugged yet charming man and not a big time star yet either. He wouldn't cost EON much and he would appeal to women, men and the critics. He's certainly young enough to play Bond early in his career and have a nice long run in the role. EON should forget about Jackman and Owen as they are too big and busy for Bond now. To me Butler is the only clear cut choice that covers all the bases with the least amount of risk. Does anyone else see what I see???

I see it too, and have ever since I saw TR2. I would really like a departure from the debonaire school of Bond actors and would appreciate a return to the old school, Connery type. Butler just seems so obvious to me as well. :)

Gerard Butler is my #3 choice for the role behind Clive Owen and Daniel Craig. If those two can't get the role, then Butler should be the guy chosen for the role.

Let me say that I really like Clive Owen and Daniel Craig very much. They are both solid actors and could pull it off easily. Owen is simply too old now and is difficult to deal with in negotiations, similar to Connery. He does not want to be type cast and would pursue many other projects during his Bond tenure. Craig is too "different" and looks much older than he is which I think has to be a factor. I would prefer him to Owen at this point butthere is a better choice. If EON wants their man to be Bond and Bond only then Butler is the man. He wants the role badly and he would not be doing other films inbetween to the extent Owen would. That means Bond films every 2 years again instead of the longer spread that Owen would probably require. I like Butler mostly because he is not famous or has been talked about to death like Owen, Craig and McMahon. He's a star in the making that hasn't reached his potential yet and Bond is just the role for that. If EON did choose Butler I think the general audience would say "who?" but once they saw him in action they would be saying yeah! I agree that Owen and Craig are great actors who would play Bond very well, but they would be tough to pin down to a long tenure without mega bucks and long negotiations. Perhaps Butler will win by default.

Perhaps Ioan Gruffudd is the next Bond? According to IMDb, his schedule is completely clear. Somewhat unknown, but has been in a few major movies: Fantastic Four and King Arthur. Born in '73 makes him 32, which is about the age they're looking for. He has an accent (naturally).

(Perhaps I just need to go to sleep)

I'd be very happy with Gruffud. Dalton likes him as well (the Welsh connection).
He'd be good but anyone taking over from Pierce has a tough job.

Gruffudd would be fine as far as I'm concerned. He's a good age, with the right kind of looks. I don't know much about his acting chops, but I haven't heard anything bad about him (as I have with McMahon). At this point, I just want them to announce somebody (other than Craig, McMahon, or Orlando Bloom).

Gruffudd could do it but I think he wouldn't necessarily be a tough Bond. More like Moore than Connery.

I agree with Forever007, he doesn't look like the type of tough as nails person, but I still wouldn't mind Gruffudd as Bond, to be honest. He could probably pull off a decent portrayal, he won't be anything like Fleming's Bond, that's for sure but I think that I would be able to walk out of the movie theatre satisfied with his performance.

It has to be either Hugh Jackman or Clive Owen. If not please just bring back Brosnan or *Dalton*!

I want Brosnan to come back for one or two more. He hasn't had one that he looks too old in. It has almost become a tradition: Moore had OP & AVTAK, Connery had NSNA (official, or not), and Dalton & Lazenby didn't stick around long enough. If no more Brosnan..........I want Clive Owen, but I will definitely accept whoever is chosen. :)

Hugh Jackman, Clive OWen or Gerry Butler. Those three are the only serious contenders.

b4 PB got the role. He's someone to put high on your list.

Maybe that's exactly what EON want, for us to be so anxious to see Casino Royale that we will accept just anyone as the new Bond, that way they can "get away with" the huge mistake they are making by not bringing Pierce Brosnan back?!?! :)
