I bet with Star Wars and Batman starting to cool off in the realm of movie news; that we will hear more about the next film, if not who James Bond himself will be, very shortly.
I doubt we find out anything anytime soon. I don't even think that Martin Campbell has even started on preproduction for Casino Royale yet, so we've got to wait for him to finish Zorro and then start on CR, at which time he will be able to put his two cents worth in regarding the casting of Bond, and at which point, they'll probably go through more rounds of screen testing. IMO, we've got a long wait ahead of us as far as finding out who Bond is.

I think it will be either (Jackman) or Julian McMahon. Time will tell.
I think it'll be neither. Isn't Jackman committed to a Disney contract? Also, I think his association with X-MEN would be a problem for Sony and Eon - I'm sure they'd much rather have their new Bond described in the media as "the Bond star", and not "the Bond and X-Men star". And I doubt that they'd go with an actor as famous and successful as Jackman. As for McMahon, well, as they say, loose lips sink ships.

Could be right. Do you know when post-production on Zorro ends?

Well, Loomis, we agree on something. Must be those quakes in California, tilting the world on its axis, huh?
I concur. I can't picture Jackman when he has the huge X-Men Wolverine stuff at the same time. I do think they want their BOND to be BOND. I could have lived with Jackman ( not my first choice, but I could have accepted him and he is very likable) but McMahon is a problem for me. I don't see Bond with him and like you stated, his "I've been in talks" which just flies in the face of what we know EON prefers didn't lift his profile in my eyes either.
We'll see.....won't we?

I have no idea. I just assumed that we would get an announcement from EON when Campbell had finally joined them to begin preproduction. I guess he could already be working on CR, but I figured that someone would have found out and reported that he had begun work on CR.
But, no, I have no idea when Zorro wraps up postproduction.

Christian: No, that's Bateman, not Batman! Actually both characters would be a dream come true, wouldn't it? James Bond is every British actor's Holy Grail in many ways - the most recognised British character on the big screen.
I've also been a big fan of Tim Burton's Batman movies. His almost gothic approach brought a wonderful cinematic feel to an American hero. I'd love to do either part but I'd also worry about being typecast. James Bond in the new Millennium has so much potential - in the new movie xXx, the Bond character is skewered as being out of step for our times - Bond is in dire need of updating.
And Batman is a wonderful character - the duality between his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, and the dark knight could be a fascinating character study.

And besides, I don't trust EON to give him decent material to work with.
He probabley portrayed a better James Bond by playing Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins then he would by playing Bond in a actual film LOL.

Chris Bale would make a great James Bond, but he might be busy with more Batman.

The Bond franchise is not stable enough right now, nor have the past few films been of high enough quality to attract an actor of Christian Bale's caliber. Plus, like you said, he is too busy with the new Batman franchise to be able to take over as James Bond.

Jackman is the full-blooded British who was born in Australia to his full-blooded British parents are later divorced. Please Mr. Jackman turn down the Wolvervine role for X-3 and the Wolvervine movies, please Mr. Jackman take the James Bond role.
