Scottish is British. I hadn't thought about South African but I'd struggle to think of a South African actor.
Scottish isn't British, its part of England but its not British.
No, you are getting mixed up. Great Britain is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
I know this because I am British. I was born in Wales, my father is Scottish and I live in England.

Well I live in England as well, aren't you British if you live in Britain, Welsh if you live in Wales, Irish if you live in Ireland and Scottish if you live in Scotland. Otherwise by judging by your opinion, Irish is the same British as well. The only similar thing between all these people is that their are all part of England which makes them all English. You can't call them British cause they are not all British.

I know I forgot Daniel Craig. And I know some of these guys aren't really good candidates, I just wanted to fill up all the space.

Really well put together.
I still say Butler shines out among the candidates, mind you!
But Scott, Purefoy, McMahon and Paul look like they could stare out from a "007" poster quite effectively too. No Guy Pearce, though?
In looking at that, I'm realizing that one thing that makes the visual "Bond" difference to me is the mouth. McLusky's drawings capture the right Bond look IMO. I just couldn't trust a Bond with the wrong kind of mouth! I think it's part of the reason why Robbie Williams, Jason Isaacs, clive Owen and Jack Davenport are so "Un-Bondian" to me. Take a look at Hoagy Carmichael and Horak's Bond, too. To me it just seems a big part of representing who Bond is. I think it may be partly why Connery captured it so well, too; there is a certain look that cinematically encapsulates the "Bond character" and without it something is lost.
Apologies if this is rambling or vague, but it's just something that struck me as I was looking at the candidates - as I say, I think it may have something to do with who does and who doesn't look a viable James Bond to me.
Again, good job on the collage!

Female Bond?
The name's Bond, Miss Bond
Actress Famke Janssen asks why the next 007 must be a man.
“It is 2005, anything can happen. I think even James Bond being black is a great idea. I think James Bond could be a woman at this point,” she says.
But according to the rumour mill, Janssen might be disappointed, and Daniel Craig may be donning the tuxedo instead.
Janssen, of course, is already known to Bond fans as Xenia Onatopp, who crushed her victims between her thighs in Golden Eye.

Putting aside the whole concept of the movie, which favours a new and younger actor, and the fact that an Eon spokesperson was quoted on the BBC as saying that they haven't picked their Bond yet, but it won't be Brosnan (and this is a lot to put aside) it is entirely possible that this whole 'finding a new Bond' business is just a negotiation ploy to bring Brozza's price down. I don't think so - but neither would I put it past Eon to re-employ him if all else fails.

Somebody that was mentioned back in 2002 in article by Stax was actor Simon Baker from the Guardian tv show. He might make an interesting choice and is someone people haven't talked about very much:

He was also the young gay guy who got murdered in L.A. CONFIDENTIAL.I think I've seen him before.
Has he been in anything else?
