I cant see Ewan Mcgregor as bond either because I saw Down With Love and if that is the way he is going to portray bond then count me out.

If you don't know , that movie is a romantic / comedy movie type , not exactly an action film , So you can't judge him by that movie. :)

Colin Firth looks like he could do good action movies, but not as Bond.

I wonder why Dougray Scott turned down the role. :) :) He's a fine actor , that could pull of a great James Bond. Perhaps he didn't want to be attached to a franchise like 007 franchise. :)

Eh...glad the fellow did. Far more qualified names up for the coveted role I think.

Yes , maybe you're right. He could fit in about 5 or 6 years perhaps.

plus hes kinda stuck in the role of Obi Wan so i think his wisest thing to do pick a role that shows that he was the chops to play bond.

McGregor seems to be okay in some of his roles, but I haven't seem anything huge from him yet. (Although that doesn't have to be done of an actor to be Bond)

He just sometimes seems to be generic to be.

I would think he'd've turned down the role, seeing as James Bond and M:I are kind of rivals, and that he's on the M:I side, or something like that.

On MI's side? I wouldn't think so...as they're just films.

Oh, just use a computer generated James Bond (ala 'The Hulk')- no balding, no grey hair, no weight gain, no signs of aging. All the wit, charm, style and danger you can program.

That would be taking CGI a bit too far. We've got some really good candidates up for the role now. Much better than I initially thought, when I couldn't pick one I'd accept as the new James Bond.

that would just be plain creepy. Might as well just make the movies into games if that idea went through IMO.

I think that Brosnan will play Bond one final time in Bond 21. In Bond 22 three years later I want either Clive Owen, Hugh Jackman or Guy Pearce to play Bond.

In my personal opinion he is too young, and way too thin....he looks like a good bad guy could really give him a trouncing....LOL :)

Dreadful. He looks like Tim Henman (for the benefit of non-UK CBners, I'm referring to a somewhat unexciting British tennis player who seems to specıalıse in getting knocked out of Wimbledon every year, regular as clockwork, to the secret delight of his masochistic fans, who, in the British way, relish defeat more than victory) after a starvation diet.

Agreed with Loomis on there, except maybe with not that much venom. :)

He looks like a very generic Bond, which some of these contenders appear to be to me.

Looks like i'm in the minority with Gruffudd--thought he showed impressively in Hornblower. I say let us see him as Lancelot and see how he does in action role now being older. Hearing the venom from Loomis though i'm sure he won't change his mind! :)

I also agree with Loomis.....on Tim Henman

As for Gruffud I think he's too young but I also don't think he'll ever be a good Bond contender. He just lacks the "toughness" to be Bond
