D'Arcy is an actor I suggested here a couple of months ago and eventhough I see in him tremendous potential, I still doubt he will grow into a better and more suitable candidate than Bale. Time will tell of course but with Bale I know he would be great. With D'Arcy, I think.I first came across Christian Bale in American Psycho, where he carried a magnificent portrayal of Patrick Bateman. As for Bond, apart from James D'Arcy, theres no-one i d rather see in the role, but i think he s heading for typecasting as the next Batman.

Hmmm.... no thanks. And I'm not with you on Wentworth Miller, either (that said, I'd much prefer him to Bale). He's the best man for the job, looks great, is young enough to stay around and he's an amazing actor. Who? Bale, Christian Bale.
It's Clive Owen, Hugh Grant, Jack Davenport or Hugh Jackman for me (in that order), or no one. Well, not no one - I'd still watch the Bond flicks, but those are the only actors I'd be interested in (unless Connery or Dalton were to make a comeback, of course).

Jackman, not suave enough... Owen, not appealing to ladies.
Yuck... I say, keep Brosnan until we find someone better.
Gruffudd is a bit young, but will be a fine Bond in a few more years.

I doubt Gruffudd will mature into the part. He's too short and hardly has any motion picture experience. I do agree that Owen doesn't look handsome enough to play Bond. As for Jackman, perhaps you're right, but I have faith that he can fake it. He did an impressive job as a New England duke in 'Kate & Leopold'. He does look the part though. And there's always Bale, Christian Bale.Jackman, not suave enough... Owen, not appealing to ladies.

He has the right resume (experience with action, romance, drama and comedy), the right profile (British, 6'2, dark hair), the right age (born in 1974, so young enough to play Bond for more than enough films) and he's just great.

Amen,I voted for Clive Owen.
Hugh Jackman would be such a terrible choice! James Bond would feel like White trash!
And whats all this Christian Bale talk, he would be as bad a Jackman (He doesn't even look like 007.

I made the above flippant comment in response to all of the posts arguing that Bond should be either gay, black, or a woman. I suppose we could combine all 3 and see what kind of movie we would get.

As long as it's not Orlando Bloom... he's simply too young.

Of the current list I'd probably still pick Brosnan. Of the other candidates, only Jackman, Owen, Butler & West are realistic candidates (some more than others). The others are too short or not suitable (or both).Pick Your favourite for Bond 21 or Bond 22
