I voted for Hugh Jackman, but I think Clive Owen would make a wonderful Bond too. I think he would have a brooding quality to rival Dalton, whereas Jackman I think would be a mixture between Brosnan and Moore.

All indicates that the next James Bond will be Mr Hugh Jackman.

What indicates this?

An unsubstantiated quote by M. Madsen? Moo Moo - who is also calling for Eon to sign that floppy haired guy from Sinbad the sailor, and an Australian 'rag'?
I have also seen (unsubstantiated suggestions) that Jackman's agents have stated that he hasn't been approached, Eon stating that Brosnan is their Bond (for now), and MGM stating that no decision has been made.

So is there anything at all to suggest that Jackman is even being looked at by Eon?

I honestly don't have a clue anymore who will be the next James Bond
I though Brosnan would do 21 but it looks as though he's definately out.
I'm looking at this list on the top of the page with people like Clive Owen Gerard Butler and Jude Law but they don't even seem to be in the running anymore.

Only Hugh Jackman seems the top contender for the part

Also I find none of the new contenders even suitable to be Bond
Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom, c'mon seriously what are they thinking?

judging by the confusion , who will be the next Bond is impossible to know.

The only other actors besides Brosnan we can take seriously are Hugh Jackman, Clive Owen, Gerard Butler and Christian Bale. I don't believe EON are even seriously considering Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom or Ewan McGregor. Perhaps MGM, but sure as hell not Mick and Babs.

Nope, he's too short, too boyish and too low profile. Hugh Jackman, Clive Owen, Gerard Butler and Christian Bale are the only realistic candidates at this time.

I've often thought that James Purfoy would be an excellent James Bond. He's a very talented actor with plenty of range. One of the few Brits who can do a convincing American accent, for example. He's also tall with a slim but muscular buit. And he's ruggedly handsome.Excellent speaking voice-not unlike Timothy Dalton's.He really seems to have every quality required.Unfortunately he's now in his mid 40s(I think Eon will want someone in his mid to late 30s next),And unlike Pierce Brosnan and Sir Roger Moore,he isn't a famous tv star with an image easily adaptable to playing 007.

I voted for Hugh Jackman. He has a charisma not unlike the young Sean Connery's in the early 1960s--he's even a similar physical type. Moreover,he's an excellent actor who can speak with a believable British accent. And he's an established name, and audiences know him, so casting him might not be a huge gamble for Eon.He could convincingly play James Bond.Whether Eon will sign him is something else altogether but he's probably somewhere on their short list of potential 007s.

I heard that Pierce Brosnan is endorsing Hugh Jackman as James Bond only, because Brosnan knew Jackman was the close one who fights in the action film like him.

Yes.I saw Brosnan say this when he was being interviewed on HBO(if I remember correctly). He made a point of singling out Jackman as a successor. And who knows?Pierce may be looking at Jackman not merely from the viewpoint of a fellow actor but also from one of a film producer as well.Weighing the odds and considering who'll potentially bring in the most people.Who among them seems to be the most suitable among the established stars mentioned as a future 007.At least for right now.Currently Jackman seems to offer everything.Talent.Youth.Physicality.Some amount of fame. And popularity.

Personally, I feel that Clive Owen is going to be too old for the role, at least by the time Pierce is done with it. Seeing as how Bond films take 3 years to make these days, and Bond 21 will be out in 2005, Owen will be 44 or so then, which is quite old.

I voted Christian Bale, who fits perfectly. If they are looking for an actor who could do a handful of films, Bale would fit in just right.

I'm not understanding why everyone is so stuck on the age thing.....especially if the actor neither looks his age nor acts it. Look at Sean Connery he never looked that young to begin with.....

I don't think the EON will go by the age as much as talent in all areas. I do think they will go by the man's budget, how well he can just jump into the role, and expertise in all facets of the role, including the accent, and foreign languages. I think they will want to spend more money on the production as in special effects, and the things that really attract an audience....and someone with a desire to be the best Bond there ever was.....

I'm not saying anything bad about Brosnan, but as handsome as he is. He is starting to show his age. Even though there may only be a few years in between actors ages....it does depend on what they look like not how old they are.

I myself have a stereo type for Bond and it's tall dark and handsome....Sean Connery in my eyes was the perfect Bond. I think the man that best matches him will be the best for the part.

Shoot me if Colin Farrel ever playes James Bond. In one year he's been in enough movies for a lifetime!

Once I saw Clive Owen in The Bourne Identity, I knew that this guy could play Bond. The way he handeled himself in every situation- and he looked damn good with a sniper rifle! :)

I liked him quite a bit in The Patriot, but he doesn't look much like James Bond to me.

Might make an interesting Bond henchman. A looming, quiet enemy.

:) While we are on the subject of who should be the next James Bond. how about Mr Adrian Paul.
Hugh Jackson is an excellent actor -- but he already plays an Action Figure: 1st in the X-Men & now with his new flick: Van (forgot the rest of the name). He is already establish, to expect him to now do another Action Figure. AND yes, you can consider James Bond an action figure, even though he cannot fly like Superman, turn green like the Hulk, spin spider-web like Spiderman, etc.
James Bond is an Action FIGURE; of a different kind, he doesn't wear a mask, nor any special clothing. He looks just like the next man (Of course one that visits the GYM more often than not, & attracts woman like honey to a bee). But he has his ability to blend with the crowd, which in itself makes him special. Regarding the fact that there has been so many actors to play Bonds, you can (with great imagination) believe that the change of appearance/look is part of his disguise.
Which is where Adrian Paul comes to mind. He is excellent in Martial Arts, swordmaster, excellent when it comes to accents (he played a Scotlish Highlander for 6 years). His others characters - required him to speak with a Russian accent, thick Italian, Polish, etc. He looks wonderful in a TUX, is said that he looks very similiar to Sean Connery. (IF they wish, they can always state that the 007 is heriterity - did I spell that right, you know goes from father: Sean to son: Adrian) He can do funny as well as dramatic, action, he is an excellent dancer, excellent in changing characters (his roles have varied from playing Lancelot, vampire :) , roque :) , nerd, weird :) , shy :) , romantic :) , to an immortal :) ).
Please give the man a chance, I know that I would much rather see him as Bonds than Hugh Grant (the only thing going for him is that he is white & British, but he doesn't have the physique, nor the looks of JAMES BOND). Thanks for allowing me to voice my say.
