Wow, thanks Luigi, exciting to read about the Aston Martin hurtling down stone steps. :D Hadn't considered they'd be allowed to do that...!

Nice words Stromberg and well deserved - the finest CBn moles internationally!

And those stone steps are going to leave a few marks on the Aston that's for sure....ouch.

Yeah, I'm sold that this is going the be better than the opening car chase in QOS. I suspect the final, edited scene will look fantastic.

Very blue.

Michael Mann's colour of choice was blue and it works a treat.

However, this might just be halogen headlights...

HID (xenon) headlights, I suppose.

Beat me to it!

Updates from Rome: last night shooting was canceled due to heavy rains. Filming will resume tonight if the level of the Tiber and the weather conditions will allow it.

Those photos bring a huge smile, Luigi - classic Bond with hints of View to a Kill style car stunt down the stairs.

From the article, it isn't confirmed.

The author is speculating the police are just using it to control events for the filming.

Who knows.  Looks pretty smart though.  A lot like the Lambo Police cars as featured on Top Gear in Dubai.

Just when you think it can't get any better...a Lotus enters the fray. Doesn't get more Bond than this. So excited.

Noticed the car in one of the videos before, didn't realize it's a Lotus. But it never appeared as if it was part of the movie. If it was, I'm fine.

Thanks, thecasinoroyale.

I have been searching today for any video of the shooting yesterday night, but nothing was  published on the Internet so far, it seems.
Before seeing the latest photos, I was wondering how they were going to film the scene in which the cars run down the steps - since both are sports car traveling just a few inches above the asphalt  and this could cause seriuos damage - and here's the trick !
The crew lined the bleachers with a plastic sheet , then the concrete was thrown over in order to reduce the steps' height . In the first video at the link below you can see the preparations
at around 4mins 56 secs:

For those of you who are interested, tonight they are going to film the initial part of the car chase - the part that should follow directly the scenes shot at Blenheim Palace - this should be the road section closed for filming:

If the Lotus is part of the chase - a police car giving chase to investigate, I could possibly see Hinx taking him out with an aggressive manoeuvre.

If you've been following the news about the film since it was in pre-production, maybe you will find interesting this article where the Italian producer Roberto Malerba clarifies on news (and polemics) in the press so far:

Grazie Luigi. I heard that the shooting in Via Nomentana tonight will go throughout the night, at least until 5 AM is that correct? And now is 1:50 AM.

Prego, Marketto007.

Well, based on what I've heard the scene shouldn't be very complex - I mean, there are no particular stunts with the cars, just a straight and a quick right turn plus some  shots of the DB10's interior , I suppose - so I would  assume that the filming tonight will have the same duration as the filming they did in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
I confirm that Nomentana street is closed until 5 am, the may stop filming earlier once  the shots they got are good.
