Phwoar - look at that. Looks ace in the night!

Look at that speed boat, trying to keep up!  :D

Luigi - may I ask...are you present for these filming's? Do you manage to follow production around or do you just know who to contact? It's awesome.

Unfortunately I live far away from Rome and I haven't got  the opportunity to attend the filming. That's why I tried to give to myself and to all of you the best possible coverage of the event. It is relatively easy when you know what are the keywords to search for around the internet, although in the long run it is quite tiring.

Glad you liked it!

For those interested, someone has been compiling a map of where the filming has been taking place in Rome:
http://www.marcodonn...ml#.VP-YJLwgGrU

Interesting, but I'm not certain how accurate (or better how much complete) this is. We've clearly seen scenes getting shot in front of and around St Peter, but there are no marks anywhere near that on the map.

You're quite right. I hadn't studied it in detail, but they're missing quite a few places - including Via Plauto, Via della Conciliazione, Via die Corridori and a few others.

Interesting ground-level photo from Twitter earlier of the obstacles blocking the Aston's path:

The big question is...What happens next? Is this the demise of yet another Aston or...A cool escape? The launch/jump looks very controlled and level and I'm having memories of the Lotus going off the pier in TSWLM but also the DBS rolling seven times in CR.

Time will tell.

Thanks Luigi from another happy fan who has enjoyed all these updates. :)

Loved seeing the stunt there. Can't wait to see the sequence all cut together, with the sound effects of the cars and hopefully a great bit of scoring from Newman.

Ooh the Jag on fire?

Well to me...I don't know, that big barrier at the end of the run that forces the Aston off road...that totally looks a planned choice taken by Bond. If there was literally no other way, I would have thought he'd risk a bit of scrape and pull a U-turn to salvage the car and still enable him to drive off rather than make himself a sitting duck in the river.

Can't call it, and guess we won't know until we see it! But looks really great. Thanks Luigi! :)

I have been searching  for a while for more videos and photos from the set at Ponte Sisto, but apparently the surveillance was particularly strict last night - it's been reported there was a steward every 3 meters along a perimeter of more than 2 kilometers - that's why I  haven't found any more photos or videos. I strongly suspect that Sky TG24  got exclusive rights to record the scene.
So congratulations go to those who went into hiding in a chemical bath to steal these shots:

From the comments I keep reading on the internet, their reactions are mixed. Some are excited to see the filming from the balcony of their houses, others are angered by the road closures and the constant traffic jams. It's in human nature .I remember the same happened when the film crew closed a main traffic artery in Adana ,Turkey , to capture the scene of 007 jumping onto the train from the bridge.

I am curious about the walled obstacle that causes Bond to think throwing himself and car in the drink is the answer.

Is that a real wall, or a plasterboard affair?  I am currently having trouble believing that such a wall would exist in reality.  A road or a pathway that leads to nowhere...  Really?

It's a fake wall.

http://www.telegraph...tax-breaks.html

From the Telegraph:

The filming switched this week to the river banks beneath Ponte Sisto, a bridge that crosses the Tiber, with the crew building a fake wall beneath the massive stone embankments, possibly in preparation for a car chase.

The wall, which was made to look as if it was built of stone blocks, was spray-painted with graffiti.

“The authorities in Rome assured us that they would clean up all the graffiti from the embankments but they did nothing, so we had to blend in the set by spraying our own graffiti,” a member of the crew told the Telegraph.
