Well to me...I don't know, that big barrier at the end of the run that forces the Aston off road...that totally looks a planned choice taken by Bond. If there was literally no other way, I would have thought he'd risk a bit of scrape and pull a U-turn to salvage the car and still enable him to drive off rather than make himself a sitting duck in the river.

I concur. Also, Mendes was very taunting during the announcement about the DB10 and that we'd be pleased about what it had to offer. Short of the medical kit and P99 tray in CR and the DB5's classic machine guns, Craig's Bond hasn't had a "fully loaded" set of wheels. I mean, yes, they look slick and drive like a rocket, but I'm just betting/hoping we're in for an "optional extra" or two that takes down the Jaguar and gives Bond an escape. Then again, it is sort of more fun not knowing what 007 has up his sleeve.

Also, again Luigi, as I can't say it enough, thanks for the amazing coverage. Might just have to nominate you for a CBn CMG. :D

That's delightfully passive-aggressive.

Haha, it so is. Such a shame, though, as Bond is not about graffiti. I hope it doesn't add too 'urban' a feel to the location as that really is not what James Bond is about. Graffiti is not exotic, however you look at it. It becomes more Fast and Furious then, which is something I was concerned about when I saw the look of the Jag. I suppose I should have more faith. ;)

Just checking....is that helicopter a camera-copter, or part of the chase.....?

I assume it IS a camera-copter, I just wanted to check as that looks awesome too.

Re the fake wall, it does look a rather incongruous place to stick a wall to force a jump.

It would be like the Bond crew deciding to have a race on the M4 (motorway / freeway) and because they needed to make the car jump over an intersection, they stick a wall across the road...!!

Maybe it will all make sense...

Around 25 seconds into that video, there's clearly fire in the back of the Aston. Looks like some kind of flame thrower, which would also explain the fire on the Jag's front which we saw on yesterday's pics.

Also, there has been a lot of talk about a parachute scene on Ponte Sisto, of which we haven't seen anything yet. I assume that this may also involve an optional extra - ejector seat or some other kind of escape system?

While I'm perfectly certain on the helicopter being a cam-copter (there were reports from spectators who said that the helicopters manoevres were even more spectacular than the chase itself, and they all mentioned that it's a cam-copter), I'm not so sure about that jet ski. Thought it would be there for safety reasons at first, but looking at this coverage, it could as well be involved into the chase (the cavalry to get Bond out of the water quickly?).

Wow.

Which car is it coming from? If it's Bonds then it could also act as a turbo booster and if it's Hinx' then that's a pretty damn cool flamethrower!

Fantastic confirmation of a return to those optional, hidden extras on the car. Should really be a fantastic chase.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Also, had completely forgot about the early reports of the parachute bit they were going to film that was being hindered by the city because of concerns about structures and the bridge itself. Then, no more mention of it....

They're going to mock it up at Pinewood. By jove...I *think* we've got it!

I was just thinking the other week that the Italian security is much less strict when it comes to taking pictures than the Austrians. Now it seems they tightened restrictions for the end of the chase.

You only film twice... in Via Nomentana. Due to "Technical problems", there will be retakes in Nomentana the night of Tuesday the 17th...

There was a quote from an Aston Martin bod who said that they wanted the audience to focus on what Bond was doing with his hands... I have no idea what that means! :)

Regarding the wall which looks like it forces the DB10 into the drink:

I think it's fantastic. It reminds me of old school Bond suspense. Like the low bridge in LALD or the narrow alley in DAF.

And also, I must thank you Luigi on your top effort. Really appreciated!
