How's the doctor going to open Donna's car

Smash the window surely?!! They can't kill The Cribbins!!

Yes, I have to say the episode last night, was by far the best this series.

I'm not sure if it was the best (I liked the Pompeii episode when I really thought I wouldn't - though for reasons that they did better in this Sontaran first part, so I may change my mind).

I just hope the second part pans out well as the second of the two parters in DOCTOR WHO tends to flag and waste its opportunities (apart from the 1913 double parter last year which was simply superb - especially for non WHO fans like myself).

The Sontaran first part was really clever in that it chose to go down that nearly kitschy 1970's route with phasers and beaming about and quite a camp grand master plan, but still worked. Bernard Cribbins adds real humanity to Donna and her family too. And to think he was a boy assistant once in one of the Cushing spin-off films...

Yep Bernard Cribbins played Tom Cambell, a policeman, in the second Cushing Movie.

Which reminds me I'll have to get those DVD's back off of my nephew.

Have you seen any photo from the Xmas 08 special? They've been shooting this last week and it looks awesome.

I'm really curious about David Morrisey character.

The Doctor stars in a who dunnit, when he helps Agatha Christie in 'The Unicorn and the Wasp', the seventh episode of series four.

In 1926, Agatha Christie disappeared for 10 days. No one knows where she went. Was it amnesia? A nervous breakdown? Or a giant alien wasp?

Knowing the wacky world of the Doctor, I'll be backing the latter.

I love the DW eps that link into the real world, which is maybe why I enjoyed the Agatha Christie one so much.

Hmmm. I wasn't to keen on that one, it wasn't poor in quality I just thought that it wasn't particuarly good. I loved the ones with Thomas Sangter in Series 3, set in 1913.

I always thought certain libraries had deathly, spooky silence. A great setting for a Doctor Who episode. I'm looking forward to seeing Colin as well.

I actually thought that it was Ironic to set an episode in a Library right after the Agatha Christie episode as Christie wrote 'Body In The Library'.

Just a heads up in case anyone's interested: The next two episodes are written by Steven Moffat. He has consistently written what are generally considered the best episodes in each successive season: "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" two-parter from season 1 that introduced Captain Jack Harkness, "The Girl in the Fireplace" from season 2, and "Blink" from last season.

When Russell T. Davies steps down at the end of this season, Moffat is the man I'm hoping replaces him.

That's been the rumor going round that he has been tapped for the position. If he is then lets hope for more Blink and Empty Child then Love & Monsters

Synopsis for tonights episode of Doctor Who...

Posted Image
"Forest of the Dead" (previously called "River's Run") is the ninth episode of the fourth series of British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It will be broadcast by BBC One on 7 June 2008. It is the second of a two-part story, following "Silence in the Library".

While attempting to defeat the threat of the Vashta Nerada with Professor River Song, the Doctor faces secrets from his own future. And why does River Song find herself shocked when the Doctor mentions former companion Rose? Meanwhile, Donna finds herself in an alternate reality alongside Doctor Moon and the girl.
