Oh what a swizz they didn't keep that title - it was very 50s B Movie cool!here's something a bit fun fact-y: End of Time pt 1 was originally titled The Final Days of Planet Earth.
As any Doctor Who fan knows - stories with the word TIME in it are simply awful (with the honourable exception of THE TIME WARRIOR, I guess!)... here's hoping for an exception to the rule!

Slightly shorter BBC America trailer for The End Of Time part 1. Dalton's voice is perfect for this.

I have a feeling that End of Time: Part One will keep things moderatly light, and Part Two will be when the hits the fan.
Ah well, we'll all find out, TOMORROW NIGHT.
What I've read of the plot of Pt 1, which is only supposed to be like 20-ish minutes, is not too bad actually. Of course the actual writing could make it tank, but the synopsis doesn't sound bad. BRING ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
Here's a rumor I quite like, although I doubt such will prove to be the case. Ten's first word was "Hello" so his final word should be "Goodbye".
Oh and I've been thinking. Even though people have been saying the Immortality Gate supposedly has the power to revive entire planets and thus might be the cause of the return of Gallifrey and the Time Lords, I was re-watching Trial of a Time Lord yesterday and the Doctor says something early on which I'd quite forgotten about. Specifically, he says "I am Lord President of the Nine Gallifreys." Now, according to Shadows of Avalon, Nine Gallifreys is the term for the nine clone worlds of Gallifrey that existed to confuse the Enemy during the War. And according to the Taking of Planet 5, even more copies of Gallifrey were said to exist in pocket dimensions in case the Nine Gallifreys were destroyed. Now, sure, all this explanation comes from EDA and not the show, so take it as you will, but it is possible. I still think the Immortality Gate reviving Gallifrey is more likely, but I won't rule out the Nine Gallifreys.
And finally,

I suspect that's the case. Looking forward to part one, but part two will really bring down the house.I have a feeling that End of Time: Part One will keep things moderatly light, and Part Two will be when the hits the fan.

Don't know about YT, but I do now of somewhere that has DivX versions up now and a flash copy will likely be up by tomorrow afternoon. Will PM if you're interested. Don't want to go getting anyone here in this thread *coughmyselfcough* into trouble for linking to copyrighted material.
Scratch. I have found a working Megavideo copy. Alas I must delay it temporarily while I attend to other matters.

Liked the shimmer stuff with the Doctor, but the rest was lame superhero movie-ripoffs, signs, portents and prophecy hokum, self-indulgent "I'm going to die" blither - yep we all are you bloody self-centred git... He is coming, who is He?, He is here blah blah, oooo darkness is coming, backwards talking voiceovers "people of the world did sleep" urk! The Silver Cloak what was the point? Indeed what is the point? - no plot whatsoever.... lots of running, rubbish music zzzzz. Harry Potter, LOTR ripoff dialogue... in fact, a funny thing happened to dialogue on the way to the station, eh?! Meglos anyone?
Did anyone else feel even slightly embarrassed watching this? Come on, admit it?!
But I will admit the two big reveals at the end were very good and Abigail - woah! "Bringer of Joy" indeed! Oh ho ho ho!

LOL and peace-out to you Peaceful! If u enjoyed it cool! I genuinely enjoyed some parts of it certainly - the two ending scenes were quite audacious and bad girl Abigail kept me more than entertained!
BTw it's not wholly a children's programme don't forget (that's the SJA or K9) - DW is recognised as a family / all-ages show.

After a dominant performance in Waters of Mars, Tennant was back to doing his "Tony Blair in space" schtick. Change, please.
Some great ideas, unfulfilled. Sound familiar? Again, change is coming, thank goodness.
But Simm. He made the episode and keeps you watching. I know its a cliche, but you'd watch the guy read the phonebook. DW is lucky to have had him because he really is on a different level to the standard of tripe around him.

True - I must admit I was a bit undecided on Simm in LOTTL - thought he overplayed it somewhat and was a little apprehensive with his return but I'll be the first to concede I was wrong here. I agree, in EOT I think he was the standout actor as well. At one stage when Simm was in the "wastelands," with Tennant' gurning in agony and asking him to hear the drums in his head, I thought - now, this guy should have played the Doctor!Pretty much on a similar wavelength to Sniperscope.

Yes, I have thought for a while that the Dr Who team must have regretted casting Simm as the Master as that would have elminated him as a potential new Who.
But then again, I think he's just too good an actor for the standard of DW writing so it's probably a good job it can't happen

I won't belabour the point but the standard of writing in these 2009 specials has been shoddy. For the amount of time RTD has had I expected more.I agree, in EOT I think he was the standout actor as well. I guess too much has been placed on his shoulders and all year he's probably had his eyes set on Hollywood horizons.

One thing that's been bugging me:
Spoiler
And the rest of my complaints shall come along with my likes later this evening.
Of course THAT'll lead us to RTD's next sleight of hand....
How to get from THAT date without the services of Dr McGann....
