Been a while since I frequented that particular venue. Will have to pop in. Should I bring back my DanielCraigisBond site again?

Do it. Never does any harm to keep the anti-Craigists up-to-date with reality. Give the forum a look as well. It's hilarious.

I did not know about the craignotbond site, but I did notice, while reading the recent reviews of Skyfall, that some comments keep popping out about Craig being the-ugliest-bond-who-should-never-have-been-considered-for-the-role and such nonsense. I really wonder whether those people have seen the films. Honestly, I would like to know.

Really?! The mind boggles really. Some people just can't be made to see clear sense, I guess!

Just to clarify: I don't mean comments from the reviewers, of course, but from anonymous readers.

Ok, after looking through the site, they've given up dumping on Craig and are generally Anti-Bond, attacking any little negative of the production. If there were any other actor in the role, any of the problems would be the same

That Xan Brooks is clearly and idiot. Pompous and cantankerous.

Mate
Dont you think you are over reacting a bit considering the fact that we haven't even watched the movie!?

No.
Read this: http://www.guardian....rst-look-review
And tell me if that is not self-indulgence writing. Here´s a piece of it:

"Don't they realise that 007 has always been at his most convincing when he's at his crudest and least adorned; when he's serving as a blank canvas for macho fantasy; the dark angel of our disreputable natures?" - Dexter Morgan monologue?...or a Raoul Silva male fantasy speech?

" I couldn't help feeling that Mendes' hitherto sinuous, satisfying vehicle veers worryingly into the rough" - Say what?

Yeah, the guy sure can write better than most half-brained critics out there. But what he´s saying is utter rubbish. Sometimes you don´t just have to know how to write, you have to have something interesting and well constructed to say.

I can see calling yourself "Xan" in a freshman fiction-writing workshop. But you should really switch back to Alex after graduation. Verdict: wanker.

Potting critics without having seen the film is always dangerous territory. Well, not dangerous, but perhaps a bit silly.

Yes, Brooks sounds up himself, so too do a lot of critics, but I think it's hard to really pull apart their critical faculties until you've seen the same thing that they have.

Davids Denby and Edelstein are usually good practice for this sport.

One thing I am sure of is we will be getting arguably the best individual story in the franchise history! I hope and pray we get some violent quick action sequences like the Bathrrom fight in CR and the Mr.Slate fight in QOS.

trust me
the title SKYFALL comes from bonds highland childhood home
albert finney plays the groundskeeper

During 'An Evening with Sir Roger Moore' at the Rose Theatre in Kingston last night, Roger revealed that he had seen a private screening of 'Skyfall' over the weekend.

While he has always maintained that Connery was the best actor to have played the part he now feels that the mantle firmly belongs to Craig. He was obviously very enthused about the film and had to be reigned in by Gareth Owen (acting as the evenings compere) not to reveal too much.

All in all a very enjoyable evening with Roger being in particular fine form.

That's brilliant so far for Bond as a whole, and for 'Skyfall'.

Yes, I'm aware. I believe I was the first to confirm that detail several months ago. Plus Albert Finney's character Kincade is more of a gamekeeper rather than a groundskeeper.

It is also believed that SKYFALL might have more than one meaning within the film.

I heard the word Skyfall will have more than one meaning - if it is in realtion to the Scottish Lodge, I accept that, but can't imagine that, as in the teaser, an MI6 evaluator would mention 'Skyfall' in relation to a Scottish manor unless that itself plays some major importance to MI6/M/Bond than we could imagine...which I doubt.

So this word will have pretty interesting links I can't wait to see explained in the film.

The front page has been updated with a brief but glowing response from Sir Roger Moore, who has seen the movie.

Moore is such a gracious chap - and clearly the best ambassador for the series.

He is, in himself, a whole wing of EoN positive PR.

Yes. If it refers only to the lodge, it's hard to imagine how it could be "done," a phrase I wouldn't expect to describe a structure built long ago.

It's clever how in the teaser when the word is mentioned, a brief cut of Istanbul is shown to give the impression 'Skyfall' is a code for an assignment or operation that Bond doesn't want to remember.

And kudos once more...to Sir Roger Moore. Such a warm feeling that he is so passionate about the Bond series and giving the 50th Anniversary a boost with a veteran Bond actor.

he turned it down

That's speculation from a newspaper review. Barbara Broccoli is on the record as saying they got their first choices for every role in the film.

I doubt they ever considered asking him. It's well known he'd both be uninterested and too expensive.

Indeed. Plus it would be a 'jump the shark' moment in a movie where they've made every effort to get things back to a classic style. I'm against any of the previous Bond actors returning to the franchise in any role.

Exactly, it would be the one sure-fire way of ruining the film regardless of how much effort had gone into the rest of it. It would be so distracting that it would set everything completely off balance.

His casting would definately overshadow the script, the other actors and the movie itself.

Albert Finney should be, and I suspect, is no one's second choice for any role.

Poirot is the guy who looks after Bond's estate? Surely that's cooler than Bond being the guy who looks after Bond's estate.

I like the sound of this scene:

"When [Silva] eventually recounts the blood-curdling turn of events that led him to turn his back on his country, it's difficult not to have some empathy for him."
