Classic misdirection.

Agreed.

One of the classic characters has to die in the new film to really raise the stakes, IMO. I was always under the impression that the sequel trilogy would focus on the new core of younger characters and that the older characters would play more of a supporting role if anything. I still stick to my prediction that Han dies. I think Harrison Ford would rather his character receive a memorable sendoff and be done with the series after this film than be relegated to a background role in the next one or possibly two movies.

Looking SO good! The emotion, both nostalgic and genuine excitement for the new is such a perfect balance here.

Simon Pegg has some very blunt and very harsh words for the Star Wars prequels and the fans of them.

http://www.cinemable...Fans-93467.html

Admittedly, Episodes I and II make me want to vomit. Though I actually somewhat enjoy Revenge of the Sith. It still could've done with a better screenwriter revising it. However, the second half of the film really ties up the loose ends of the Star Wars saga and the ending is pure tragedy. Additionally, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan is one of the lone bright spots of the prequels. I thoroughly enjoyed Sam Jackson as Mace Windu as well.

Another mystery solved (potentially). Leaked concept art for Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke.

Ep III was tolerable for the content it gave - still swamped with too much CGI to really invest too much in it, but from the nonsense that was planted in Ep I and II, it was far better.

Ep VII looks more akin to what we wanted from the OT; a clear line between good and evil and a battle starting to form and we are thrown into it. Not all this stuff about negotiations, politics, senates...god. They tried TOO hard to expand the SW universe and characters and it ended up being pretty boring save a few scenes in each film.

Pegg´s opinion is well known and from an old TV show.

I can´t blame him anyway.

The first 37 seconds of music in that last TV Spot is from John Williams' score for the film.

That man is a genius to speak to much through music. I tell what I hope, that the music from the Japanese trailer is used in the film. The first half of that trailer gives me shivers with it's music.

Same and I always loved the music in the 3rd theatrical trailer too. John Williams has been behind some of the most memorable music of all-time: Star Wars, Indiana Jones and my personal favorite Jurassic Park. I can't wait for this film.

Blending what we've wanted from a Dark Sider while retaining a very humane look and feel (nothing CGI about him so we can't connect to him).

Woo!

I really love the use of practical effects in The Force Awakens. It feels more genuine than the prequels ever did. Also, I love the look and sound of those lightsabers.

Kylo's lightsaber sounds so wild and nasty; and it looks like a flaming sword. It's amazingly simple but adds a whole new style to him.

Dayum, clearly The New Order does something very egregious that causes Finn to desert. I'm getting more and more impatient by the day.

Already have tickets for the 3D preview Thursday, December 17, and just bought two more tickets for the 2D version opening Friday night.  My girlfriend who thinks Star Wars is nerdy still wanted to see it!

I got my 00:01am showing in 2D for Thursday morning - work is going to be rough that day - and then will check out the 3D version after work shuts for Christmas on the 22nd. That's me sorted, and then I'm sure go with others in 2016! :D
